I'M HAVING SURGERY @ MI DOCTOR HOSPITAL & HAVE PLANNED 4 MY HUSBAND TO BE WITH ME THE 2 NIGHTS I'M THERE. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME INFO REGARDING THIS? I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE A PLACE 4 HIM TO SLEEP. I NEED MORE INFO PLEASE. DOES EVERYONE PAY THE ADD'L $200. 4 2 ADD'L NIGHT AT THE HOTEL?

I feel kinda of guilty after reading Greta & Tanya's post stating that they are already on their pre-op's. Tanya is getting surgery the day b/4 me & Greta is the same day as me. I am still eating regular food & drink. I will be starting my pre-op on Tues. 23rd.- that will be my 2nd day of my FL vacation. The 1st day I wanted to go to one of my favorite restaurants with friends b/4 starting my new life style. I guess you could say I'll have a farewell celebration the night b/4. Do you think that's bad? When I start on 7/23 - I will be completely committed 100% not only to pre-op diet & post-op instructions but will exercise faithfully as well. I do not & will not be this person I've become and I won't ever return to this place I'm at in life again. I am going to have the greatest celebration come next Aug.when I celebrate my 50th Birthday on Aug 15th. I can't wait to live the other half of my life free from bondage of obesity!!!! Can I get an AMEN, sister!?!lol I am very serious about this choice I've made (not to mention the money that's been invested), to make a life altering change that will better my life and my health for the remainder of the time that God grants me to be on this earth! Hey Greta I see you've started your pre-op, I don't start til 7/23. Did your Dr tell you to start 3 wks before?

You inspire me! When you reach goal, you'll have to do a you tube video of your journey with before & afters and put some great tunes to it. I was so inspired watching a few of them the other day! I plan to do the same thing when I make my goal! You look stunning! Karen

Hey Everyone, When I talked to Cindy, my coordinator with MBC she said they would find a place for my husband but if he wanted to stay at the Marriott he could for an add'l $100. per night. We can't really afford the add'l cost & was curious if Mi Doctor would accommodate him with a bed in the same room or a pullout of some sort or like previously mentioned -a reclining chair? Looking 4 other peoples experiences. Thanks 4 the responses so far everyone. Karen

LESLIE, I JUST FOUND SOMEONE WHO'S BEEN TO DR DIAZ. HERE IS HER POST: I have nothing but GREAT reviews for Dr. Diaz. He takes his time to explain everything and will give you a lecture/pep talk at the end. I felt very comfortable around him. The nurses were great. There are several that don't speak a lot of English but will get a nurse that understands you. Dr. Diaz had 2 other patients on the floor with me and none of us had any problems moving around. Everyone only had 1 incision but he will explain if he has to do another incision he will for everything to be safe. The same day I was released my husband and I were out shopping and walking around the entire afternoon. I was sore but not in any pain. Make sure you walk as much as possible. Did I mention I did't have any drain tube. I was excited about that! The plane ride was no problem and the ride in the car was no problem either. I returned to work less than a week afterwards and have not had any issues. Make sure you take your meds especially the ones for acid reflux. I need to update my clicker because I've lost closer to 40lbs now. My scar has healed great and is barely noticeable at all. I prefer to lose slower so I have enough time to firm/tighten up as I lose. I have been exercising since week 4 walking 2-3 miles a day min of 10,000 steps a day along with an exercise DVD seven days a week. I am on My Fitness Pal I log there everyday everything I eat and drink even vitamins. Hopefully this helps. I have no regrets and would do it again in a heart beat. I too,feel like I dropped the ball in taking better care of my self. I got married 6/7/08 an had loss 55 lbs that brought me to a weight of 158 lbs. I had used the 6-wk body make over & weight clinic where you get a B-12 shot + pills, both worked but after leaving my job, family/friends, church & home to live with my new husband.(who loves to cook) I started to gain it back and by the 4th year I had gained 100 lbs. My father who suffered with Dementia had come to live with us shortly after being married. He past away this last Oct.& at the end of his life he was unable to walk so I was his main care giver which to date has been by far the greatest challenge I have ever taken on. I found myself wearing my husbands size 44 shorts & big t-shirts most of the time, I lacked doing hair,nails & makeup, too. I also questioned if depression came because of my over weightiness or because of other life challenges or both? I have battled weight since the 4th grade I was usually taller & "thick boned" compared to other kids in my class. I just want there to be CHANGE in my life! I even tried out for "Biggest Loser" and got a call back from a casting director but didn't get any further than that! I'm so ready to make change & fit back into my "smaller" & much "cuter" clothes!!! I worry that this could turn out to be just a temporary fix, that the weight can come back after reading some other blogger comments. I suppose we have to keep in mind that we all have some kind of eating issues otherwise we wouldn't be getting sleeved and will have to work out our own causes that brought us to this place in the 1st place if we want true success in this journey. I'M NOT SCHEDULED TIL AUG 6TH BUT I READ THAT THE PREMIXED PROTEIN DRINKS MAYBE TO THICK TO DRINK AFTER SURGERY, DID ANY OF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM? ALSO, I REALLY LIKE A MIX CALLED "SPARK ", YOU MIX IT WITH WATER & IT HAS VITAMINS & MINERALS BUT HAS 120MG OF CAFFEINE. IT WOULD HELP DURING POST-OP WHEN FEELING SLUGGISH. ANY TAKES ON THIS INFO.?
