  1. Ok so I have been doing really good since my surgery down 54.4 pounds. I still can't eat a lot in one sitting but still trying to get use to it. But here is where my jealousy comes in I want to eat like everyone else. I was at my cousins house and she made this meal and it was tuna on a croissant, tuna, and a Caesar salad which all looked so good. Everyone was really enjoying the food but I felt like I was just going through the motions by just eating a little tuna because that's all I can hold at a time. But to watch others really enjoy their food makes me jealous. I don't really enjoy food that much anymore. It looks good but just does not do it for me due to I get full before I can really enjoy the taste of it. Does anyone have this same feeling?

    Eating Jealousy

I appreciate everyone's comments and assistance thank you. I don't want everyone to think I just want to eat large meals but just to complete a meal. I know it is paying off with the smaller portions and I know this is best for me. I just feel like I waste so much food because I can't complete anything and even in the small portions I can't complete it. I am not for saving food and going back to it because I lose the taste for it so I end up giving it away or throwing it away. I can't complete a weight watchers meal and I don't want it once it's cold. I think it's where the jealous bug comes in because even with my cousin who had the surgery she can complete one of those meals. It makes me feel like I am not eating enough and getting all the proteins I should be getting. But I see the scale moving and my clothes getting bigger so I am doing something right but thank you all for you words of wisdom I will keep it all in mind as I continue on this journey.

    Acid Reflux

Ok, family I am 3 months and 3 day post-op and I feel really good about the surgery. But here is where my problem is lying right now. I have acid reflux and I am taking Omeprazole and have been taking it since I got home from the hospital in August. I have talked to the nurse and she keeps telling me to keep an eye on what I eat but everything gives me acid reflux from waking up, Water, citrus, seasons, to everything. I would have to stop eating everything to find out what is causing it but it seems like it is everything so I just dont know what to do. I have been in search of a natural remedy so I dont have to worry with these pills and stop spending so much money for them. It can really get bad sometimes and others not so much but I am really getting tired of it. Does anyone have any idea what I can do that will help with this situation.
  4. Hey family, so today they came in today at work and they had cupcakes from this place called Sweet Mandy B's. And I have not had any sweets since my surgery in August. Well I decide to have one and before I can lick all the icing off my fingers I start to cough and and gag, well the cupcake did not stay down and one I feel like crap. I have not really thought about sugar or sweets but I thought I would give it a try. Well let's just say it is a lesson learned.
  5. Wow that seems like that will be a challenge but you will be able to handle it. I think I wanted to see if anything would happen if I ate it and now I know. I have just been testing the waters today because I had a piece of chicken fried and drank a couple if sips of Sprite pop. Well it's all making me feel sick but not coming back up but boy do I wish it would to make me feel better. I now know what I can have and the affects if I have stuff I know is not good for me.

    Any Chicago sleevers

I had dr Hussain and he is so nice. I am doing well. I had surgery on 8/29 and it has been a little bit of a struggle just pulling everything together each day. I am down 22 pounds since surgery but total since starting the process 39. If you need another sister along this road I am here.
  16. Ok, well here is my confession. On my birthday 9/28, I had a party I ate taco salad with tortilla chips, 1 chicken wing, had 2-4oz glasses of wine. Then last week I had pizza with sausage and cheese but it was frozen pizza so I cut it up in small squares and I ate 5 squares. I had a glass of white wine last night. Whooooo that feels good to get off my chest. Oh and the watermelon kick I have been on and it is so good and cold. I doctor told me no more due to the natural sugar in it.

    Gaining weight

I am not that far out but I can say that maybe if you go back to doing what you started doing when you were losing. I know that with any weight loss there will be times when you will gain and then lose it without doing a thing. When I was doing weight watchers I would gain one week and lose the next doing the exact same things. So, dont give up and it working it will be ok my sleeve sister.

    African American Sleevers

Ok my sleeve family I want to know is anyone having issues with the scale at home being different than the one at the doctor? I have been doing really good and I went in today and it showed different than Saturday. I really hope I did not gain 4 pounds when I have not done anything different. I am not giving up but boy that made me feel a little sad. But I am now able to create my menu with all the thing I am use to doing while I was on WW. I just won't be able to eat all the food on the plate and much smaller sizes. I am in phase 3 regular diet.

    August 2013 Roll Call

Surgery Aug 29th down 24 pounds but since I started changing my habits before surgery I am down 39 pounds. So I am feeling really good back does not hurt when I stand for a long period of time. I can walk up the stairs using each stair instead of taking one at a time. My clothes are fitting better and some things are to big. So this is so worth it.
  20. I have that feeling also and its not that bad but it feels like a lump in my chest that has to move for me to feel better. I am 4 weeks out also.
