Update!!! So I called my insurance today. They reviewed my notes and it states I met the criteria! She said they approved on the 24th but that dept has to note it in the system and they haven't done that yet. Said they may be backed up. At least I know i am approved!!!

Hi ladies! I have my story to tell. I have PCOS and have struggled with weight and infertility for 15+ years. My last child was conceived after 4 years of treatment. I hadn't sleeve surgery in Nov 2012. I have lost 126 lbs in 10 months. HW: 300. CW:174. Now as for the symptoms of PCOS disappearing: not completely but almost. I still have hair issues. My OB saw some small ovarian cysts. BUT....I have had a regular on-time cycle each and every month since surgery and just found out I'm pregnant...with twins!!! So the sleeve has beat PCOS in my opinion. Hope this helps. Good luck to all of you.

I called after around 5 days and they told me over the phone I was approved. Couldn't hurt, right?

I recently flew for work and could not buckle the belt. So I tried to hide it under my jacket. When they went around to check belts this skinny stewardess totally called me out and screamed for a seat belt extender from the back of the plane. I wanted to DIE and take that b***h with me. I never want to feel that way again.

Unless you're colored?? Are we in the 1960's again?

What's the proper way to say black person ? African american ? I am sorry for not using the proper term. Sheesh!!! sounds like you sure could use a puff! The NY cops will stop and frisk anyone that's dark skinned. That includes spanish people. I can't wait until they legalize pot and make stop and frisk illegal. We live in the USA people. There are rights and freedoms guaranteed by our constitution. That includes lighting one up in the privacy of my own home if I want to.

I've been consuming Marijuana since I had surgery and for quite some time before as well. I find it helps me a great deal with nausea and anxiety. I don't roll joints or use a bong since I'm scared of carcinogens and other chemicals. I have something called a (Volcano) vaporizer. It's much more healthy to consume MJ this way. I also bake with MJ but don't eat goodies often since they give me maaaaaad munchies! It's illegal here in NY but it might as well be legalized since the cops don't care (unless you're colored!) and you only get a ticket if caught with under an OZ. Just make sure you munch on carrot sticks and fruit instead of cake and sweets!!

Had a visit with my surgeon today..surgery scheduled March 26!! So excited..

I had my VSG on January 23, 2013 and at that time I weighed 274 pounds. I am 5 feet tall.
This past year has been one hell of a year! I reached my goal of 125 pounds on December 23, 2013. And since then, I've continued to lose. I now weigh 116 pounds. I'm still within the normal weight range for my height, but I'm trying to stop losing weight now. I like having a little bit of a cushion in case I start gaining...but I still have a hard time eating enough to get enough calories to stop losing. I'm working on it though!

3 weeks post op and doing great. With the exception of not knowing how to eat slowly. It's a mind thing. I'm down 20 so far but I have a long way to go. I just started to get reflux and I'm going to try some over the counter meds. The pain is gone and the gasx strips knocks out the gas pain. Trying to get use to all the noises that my new tummy makes lol

Did you lose any weight during your diet? , so far I've stayed the same weight and gained one pound this month.

Sleeved Oct 21 2013..Im 3mths post op this has been challenging in some many way but worth every obstacle. Gw I want to reach 140-150.

Still losing (more slowly)-- still following the rules-- still LOVING my sleeve.... 105 lbs down! Getting closer to my goal!!!!

I am six months out and down 75 lbs. I am still seeing the fat lady when I think about how I look. I'm working on getting my brain caught up. Sometimes when I see my reflection, it takes a minute to even realize it's me. I love my sleeve!

Natures Bounty has a great Vitamin that contains Biotin, it's for hair, nails and skin. I take 15,000. a day.
There is 5000 in one pill, but recommended in 3 pills per day.
It is working, never had nails before and hair is growing back.

You are NOT crazy! I haven't had this experience, but at our support group I've heard many, many people say that their relationships with their best friends, family members, co-workers went south. You have to realize that it's not about you. Maybe they're jealous, insecure about themselves or maybe they think we took the easy way out (easy way my a$$)!! The only thing you can do is talk to her and try to work it out if the relationship is important to you. At least then you'll know you did all you could to save the friendship. Good luck to you. In 2013 I became super unhappy with myself. I didnt know where I was gonna go in life due to the fact that i was 30 pounds away from being 300lbs. I was in awe & disbelief with the fact that I let myself go. In march I sat my mom down and let her know that I was considering weightloss surgery. In march of 2013 I went to my first appointment. I fell in love with my surgeon & knew it was the right choice for me. After 3 months of testing & waiting on insurance I got approved & had my surgery June 6th 2013. My highest weight was 269. I am now 153.4. I have lost a total of -115.6lbs & want to loose another 20! Never give up on your dreams. This has been the best decision of my life!

I started my journey one year ago with my pre surgery insurance meetings with my NUT. Had surgery June 4th, hit 100 pounds yesterday. The first picture is from a year ago and the other is this morning. Started at 285, this morning I'm at 184. Just can't believe that's me.

Update: 4 months post op and current weight 180 means a loss of 82lbs
