    Its LOSE NOT LOOSE!

In New Zealand it's all called fizzy drink. In Australia it's called by whatever it's real name is! Weird because Aussies never call anything by its real name as a rule. Pop, is your grandfather! Soda is something used in baking to make things rise! Isn't this a wonderful world?

    Its LOSE NOT LOOSE!

Of course I was born and schooled in New Zealand. Spent my senior high school year in Gouverneur, upstate New York. Had four years in Ottawa, Canada in the 1990's. Now spend 10 - 12 weeks a year in England with my daughter and grandchildren. Consequently I am totally screwed up!

    Its LOSE NOT LOOSE!

This whole thread just made me laugh! Not everyone has English as their first language, I just thought some of these could be attributed to that. Also there is American, and then there is English. If you really want to hear some colloquialisms come to Australia!

    discuraged

Jamie I was sleeved a week after you on August 7th, I have lost about 28 lbs. I am happy with this it is regular and I have had no stalls yet. I had a hiatus hernia repair at the same time which has given me some pain, sort of, when eating. However that is settling down now finally. However I spend quite a lot of my day feeling just ghastly and sometimes nauseous as well. I am going to see my surgeon on October 23rd and will discuss this with him then. In another thread, a few weeks ago someone posted amounts we should expect to eat and I found this really helpful, I wrote it down and will repeat it for you. By 8-10 weeks we should be able to eat 1/2 Cup of food at each meal By 16 weeks 3/4 Cup By 20 weeks 1 Cup The breakdown of the 1Cup should be 1/2 Protein, 1/4 veges and 1/4 carbs or fruit. I am still concentrating on protein so get very little veges or fruit and really can only manage 1/3 cup so far. I am also finding that Water makes me feel worse, so I am putting a sugar free flavour in and can still not get enough in each day. Multi Vitamins make me nauseous as well so I now have the gummies. So you are not alone, but we should talk to our surgeons about the nausea. All the best. Jen.
  5. I do feel for you. Losing a friend can be traumatic, so can losing someone who turns out not to be a friend. This girl is mean and is riddled with her own problems. You were right to unfriend her. Isn't it weird how we might have twenty people who say lots of good things to, and about us and yet we still fret over the one person who is mean. I'm a grandmother and this still happens to me, I just manage it better now, sometimes! As a rule people just don't understand that our decision to take this route to become healthy, is not about them. That in making this decision we actually we're not even thinking about them, just about us and our own health. I have not heard of "fat shaming". How do people think this will work? How odd!
  6. We go to Sushi Train on Friday nights quite often. I have sashimi, one plate, while my husband has three or four plates of whatever he fancies. It's yummy and good protein. Today we had Chinese, he ordered rice and two dishes which I chose! I had a few bites of the chicken and beef and two bites of veges. He loves how cheap my sleeve is to feed!

Is there a recipe for protein cookies or do you buy them? If you can have protein cookies Laura then so can I!

    August sleevers progress

I have lost 13 kg since surgery, August 7th. That's about 29 lbs. I have had no stalls, just regular 1 - 2 kg per week losses. Walk the dog every day and go for a bike ride a couple of times a week - mainly to have my half a cup of cappuccino with the "normal" people! Have not yet managed to eat 600 cals in one day, still trying though. Usually get around 40 g of protein a day though. I spend a lot of my day feeling nauseous or just plain ghastly so although I like the consistent weight loss, I am not yet "loving" my sleeve.
  9. This made me laugh. I think we forget quite quickly how much a normal stomach can hold. I never used to notice what or how much other people ate. I do now though. I never make a comment, I think that's the easiest way. Just ignore it.
  10. Good luck Skudibz, I am sure it will all go well for you. Looking forward to hearing from you later.
