Losing Weight But Still Feeling Lost
FRED1977 replied to Lunaya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take it one day one goal at a time. I believe we all suffer from the habits of pre op lifestyles. Here lately it seems when I even attempt at eating foods that I used to love now I either end up with real bad gas pains or just uncomfortable feelings period. This has been the hardest thing I have ever done. Don't feel to bad though looking at your ticker you have lost a lot of weight. Loosing weight and pushing yourself are very hard even with the surgery . -
I get full quick but love the dill spears,I can eat more of the hamburger style pickles. Either way I eat them. I started on week 3 post op

What Role does the scale play in your life?
FRED1977 commented on gamergirl's blog entry in Gamergirl's Blog
The scale is just a tool like the sleeve but I do weigh in everyday just to see what foods are doing what to me. It's just a hard habit t o break. Numbers have gotten me upset before. I just try and ignore it but sometimes. Your post was great ,nice read. -
EPIC FAIL ON THE PRE-OP DIET!
FRED1977 replied to READY4CHANGE2013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Pre op diets suck , if you can make it 28 days without food why not 60 ,lol..... I hate the pre op diet. I hope I never have to do one in my life again. I had a 2 week pre op diet and I did cheat a couple of times. I lost 32 pounds pre op,and now I'm doing ok . Lets face it eating and drinking after surgery is a lot easier. Good luck. -
Why am I not seeing any difference?
FRED1977 replied to Peggy D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome post, I agree I thought I would be that person the sleeve wasn't going to work for either. All in due time. -
I'm afraid that psych eval will deny me
FRED1977 replied to ArnoldS's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wouldn't worry to much as long as you are not planing any self harm or mutilation I think you will be fine. These evals are just another way the insurance companies lace their pockets. I had to take one before my surgery was approved ,and didn't really understand why but someone made some money off of me. Just my 2 cents. -
Powerade Zero is fine for and after post op. I have just drunk so many of them that I have switched over to crystal light and generics because I 'm so burned out on the taste but it does taste good and keep you hydrated so no problems there.

Juice with out fruit would be an opition. Im guessing some say no because of all the sugar in fruit.

you are a strong woman, I like that you are being real and not trying to make excuses. It is what it is. Congrats on all your success.

Just wondering because if I ever get down to the govt weight I will need that TT or something. Thanks.

I'm not getting that many calories in, so I know I need to eat more.
-
No work outs yet, I tried in week 4,and it was really painful. To be honest working out and eating less than a 600 calories a day doesn't seem to really make a big difference. I will get back in the gym as soon as my finances become better. Just got back to work . So I need all the money I can get .

Time off from work
FRED1977 replied to spunkyirishpunk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would be off for at least a month , trust me bending, kneeling, and stooping is not going to be easy in 3 weeks. -
This is my 6th week, so I'm still new to this.

Struggling big time.....
FRED1977 replied to No Day But Today's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree this is a bit cray and good. Loosing 50 pounds is a lot of weight and you will have to be really motivated to do this before your surgery date. -
Yea this is really the hard part since no 2 people are just alike. I wish there was something we could all do to ensure we could loose weight and no have to worry about the scales. It's just becoming a struggle for me as well.

nothing is going well
FRED1977 replied to pjknitts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its both most likely, I felt like crap till about week 4. It does get better. -
Thanks for starting this topic. PRE op I used to love to eat salad all the time but now I'm not going to try it until I'm further out. I can stand gas pains I don't want to cramp or none of that.

I have a different mindset it seems
FRED1977 replied to cindymaried's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how you feel; I have had a bad habit at times correcting my wife about her food choices. My wife is no silent woman she tells me to shut my trap and mind my own sleeve, lol. Your right we didn’t have the surgery to be someone we are not . We had the surgery to enhance and respect our relationship with food. I admit the fact that I cannot eat much does not make me want more food. It would be impossible for me to sit and try to pig out like I used to. Now when I have a bad day I can no longer turn to food for help, and now I can no longer drink my heart out in diet sodas either. The improvements we have made with portion control and the ability to properly understand how we need to take care of ourselves are improved. We should not judge anyone for the choices they make, only offer opinions or facts when asked to do so. Never talk down on anyone. Moderation and respect is key to anything.
