exercise and caloric intake

Like to add to Neuanfangs good advice. Increase to 4 or more days a week. Vary your routine for muscle confusion. A strategy that i recently implemented is 20 min on elliptical, rowing machine 5 min as fast as you can without stopping, 5 min cycle fast as you can then 10 min elliptical. You will notice much different results. -

I heard one time, "Sometimes God doesn't say no...just not yet".

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm hoping "this shall pass" sooner than later. Good luck to you, keep the faith, and keep going. You are worth it!

@ Debcat, that makes more sense versus just "height" only (taller versus shorter person). Also, another point needs to be taken into consideration....genetics. You can have two people with the same height and same weight, but genetically dispositioned differently. My fiancé who is a cage fighter (excellent condition) is 5'8" weighs 162.8 lbs (when he fights, he cuts weight to 135 lbs..LOL) and I'm 5'6 166 lbs (I know we're not the same height, but I'm going to give another view). I genetically have more muscle mass than he does in arms and legs. He has less body fat that I do based on his two-three adays (meaning at the gym twice a day and CAMP working out at Uriah Faber's Ultimate Fitness (these guys have muscle mass down to a science!). Also, not all protein is created equally nor are calories created equally. I believe the question originally was how much protein does one need. I gave a "down and dirty" way to figure out the minimum specific to each person based on weight only. However, just getting protein & water won't be the magic bullet. A person will also need to exercise a minimum 4 days a week out of 7 (not necessarily in a row) with cardio, weight lifting (light weights 15 reps x 3 sets for toning), stretching, eating healthy, & getting quality sleep (8 hours restful sleep), etc. It's the totality of a healthy life style what will give a person the improved health results he/she is looking for. Hope that helps regarding figuring out protein grams for starters. (if didn't see my earlier post: Divide your current weight in 1/2 and that is the amount of total grams/day).

For ex if you have a 6 foot tall person weighing 145 lbs and 6foot tall person weighing 240 lbs...their requirement of protein will be different.

How does height indicate how much protein one comsumes?

Dr Garcia self pay Mexico
AngelNP replied to Wendim's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was sleeved on Friday and both of my surgeoms followed up woth me on Sat and Sun. I had awesome care. -
I have already created Mexico Trip Tips & Sleeve Bible(s) documents. I'm contemplating on starting a document for pre and post sleevers regarding exercise (cardio, weight lifting, toning, flexibilty, stretching, etc). I would love input especially from the gurus, experienced sleevers. I have a lot of advanced exercises; however it's really important for the pre-sleever or recently sleeved (after medical clearance to exercise). This information will not supercede medical instructions from their PCP or surgeon(s). Thanks in advance.

Yes, info sent. I have too much information to provide on a forum. I have created two great documents that I have no problems sharing. I've complied great suggestions from multiple sleevers and put it together. I have three different versions of something similar to what Laura shared...but in more detail. More specific on what types of food; how much, how to weigh, what type of equipment you will need to assist...etc. 6 videos on common questions/concerns, 2012 research on all weight loss surgeries, etc. If someone wants this information, please PM me and I'll provide you my email address, so I can send it to you, if not, no big deal. Have a great weekend.

Hence, that's why I provide my email addy, to those who want the information I have. In general, that is correct.

What and When to Eat Before and After Swimming
AngelNP replied to Poolguard's topic in Fitness & Exercise
The protein shake especially at night is a good idea after your workout versus eating a meal with protein in it. It will be easier to process and increase metabolism while you sleep. -
I can send you the sleeve bible(s). They have incredible information. If you are interested, you will need to PM me with your email address, and I will be happy to send the information to you.

It's best if you have two shakes a day and the rest of protein from meat, fish, chicken, turkey. Eat 3 hours a part and not more than 4 hours. Eating 4 small meals per day.
-
IE My preop weight was 215 = 107 grams of protein/day for me. Currently I'm at 167 lbs = 83.5 grams/day Hope that helps.
-
Divide your actual weight in half and that number should be the amount of protein you need per day. Hope that helps.
