hi Kimmie, I'm a SP.Ed high school teacher too. I know we've discussed this before but I'm trying to decide when to go back to work. I was banded on Tuesday, and planned to go back on Monday. At this point I don't know if that's a good idea. Since I do high school I have to move classrooms every 50 minutes. I can usually rest during the actual classes since I'm co-teaching this year but getting through the halls and handling the stairs is a little scarry to me at this point. Any advice????

sbee replied to cookielover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi cookie, Thanks for the post. I was banded on the on Oct. 2nd and am experiencing some of the same things. My stomach noises are so loud and I get tired easily. I figured I be out going for my normal walks by now but that's not the case. I was planning to return to work on Monday but we'll see about that. Good luck and I hope we feel better real soon -
Congrats ForestCat I am sooooooo happy for you. November will be here before you know it and it will all go so fast. As for me, I'm okay. I haven't been able to walk like I wanted to, I wanted to go back to work on Monday but I'm not so sure anymore. Well good luck and keep me posted on your progress. (By the way...GO Tribe!!!!! )

I was banded yesterday (10/2) and all went well I got home this afternoon and have been resting ever since. I just took some painmeds so that I can get out of bed and walk around. Everything went smoothly, if it weren't for the soreness I wouldn't believe that I banded. And the best thing is that I am almost ready to cross into Onederland thanks to the pre-op diet (down to 200). Hope everyone else is doing well. talk to you soon

Hey all you TENacious Tens, I figured that it was about time for us to start thinking, talking about and sharing our pre-op diet stories. My surgery is October 2nd so I start my diet on Tuesday the 18th. I am excited but very nervous about my willpower.

October, 2007 -- my new and improved life begins!
sbee replied to Topdownbug's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Top down bug, Congrats on getting your date and weight loss so far. I'm from NE Ohio, and my date is Oct. 2nd. Have you checked out the October monthly board (the TENacious Tens) or the Ohio board, we would love to have you on both. Anyway good luck, and keep us posted on how your are doing. -
I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I am so nervous that I will cheat. On the other hand I realized ealier today that today is like my last offical fat day. From here on out, I will be losing weight that will not return. Today marks the end of the old me. The me that I have been for 30 years. (so hard to say goodbye :think) But I will need help becoming the new me. (That's where you all come in) Wish me luck... :phanvan

I think the arrows are to tell youu that you posted in that thread and I'm guessing that you only see the arrows that pertain to you and I see different arrows for threads I posted in. (I don't know..I'm guessing) By the way Forestcat. I have to start a 2 week liquid diet on Tuesday and I believe that I will have to stay one night in the hospital.

Anyone scheduled for September 24th?
sbee replied to bookholder's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations on you dates. Have you tried the monthly support groups for September. I'm sure you find some others who share your date. Good luck!! -
I was wondering is anyone's goal weight within the healthy BMI range? I was talking to the friend that first got me interested in Lap band (her sister had it done a few years ago) and I told her that I was hoping to get down to 115-120 lbs which would put me in the healthy BMI range (I'm only 5'2) She started laughing and said the there's no way to reach that with lap band? I was crushed, I know the band is a tool but I didn't go through all this to still be considered overweight. I am willing to work my @$$ off at the gym and eat healthier but what's the point if I'm still overweight. If I wanted to still be overweight but a little lighter then I would have tried another stupid diet where I shed a few pounds and hope for the best. My surgery date is Oct. 2nd and I'm getting bummed out about even going through with it. I didn't want to do gastric but I don't want to still be fat either. What's the point if I can't be healthy?

Farewell to food tour..Not for the easily tempted
sbee posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, I just got my band date (October 2nd) and I'm trying to avoid or lessen the farewell tour. So here's my question. What food did you or do you think that you would never eat again? I'm not trying to come across like I'm already defeated and will miss those food but I realize that certain thing I will need to stay away from like Kryptonite. For me, I will miss the delicious Stake and shake milkshakes especially the banana Split, the super high calorie coffee drinks, and the oversized Panera bagels. :eyebrows: What's your kryptonite?? -
