I have had my band since feb and 6wks after my last fill the band started getting realy tight for no apparent reason. I couldn't eat and threw up lots of mucous and food. I had 6cc in but the Dr. took out 3. so now here I am back in bandster hell with no restriction at all!! anyone had a band just cinch up on them for no reason. Boo hoo I feel like my band is gone!!

Heather sorry you had trouble too!! I haven't read your entry where is it so i can see what you went through. I am soo much better today but could probably eat anything put in front of me. Feeling like I don't even have a band now boo hoo

Well I have had a weird couple of weeks. I haden't had a fill for about 6wks but only got .5cc in. I was doing fine for about 4 weeks after the fill when I noticed a lot more restriction. I chalked it up to being fluid retension, stress... yadda yadda. Then On Friday I could hardly eat anything that wouldn't get stuck. Progressively got worse over the weekend and started feeling bad heart burn, reflux, hiccupps, coughing...all the bad symptoms. So today I saw Dr. Choban and she wanted to take out all of my 5.5cc. She ended up taking out 3 but found that there was really 6cc in there. I felt immediately better. thank the Lord!! I had lost 14lbs in 5 1/2 weeks. So tonight I'm starving!!! she didn't know why it got tight all of a sudden but if I didn't feel better with the deflation she was going to send me for an upper GI test. I sure am glad I feel better but not too happy i don't have restriction anymore. I wonder where my "sweet spot" is. I did hit the 60 lb weight loss this morning but I don't think it will stay now.:cry_smile: sorry this post is so long but I need to vent!!! things are kinda on the slow side for me although I am feeling a ginormous amount of restriction these last couple of days. does anyone feel more restriction around "that time of the month"? I have had about 3 major stuck issues in the last 2 days. who would of thought .5cc would make such a difference. Now I'm just ready for the scales to show it! Hope all is well with everyone. Hoping that you get your date very soon Angie. I finally hit the big 50lb loss last week. I thought I might have to go back to get the 1/2cc taken back out but I think it's starting to loosen up a tad. Hated to miss the Polaris group this month again but there always seems to be something going on. Looking forward to making it next month.

I also received the eval and sent it in. Trust me I used all the free-space lines for my comments on the flow of the office. Kathleen at the front desk is a sweetheart and tries to get you to the right people. I called 2 wks in a row to find out if i could take a medication, leaving the name of the medication and everything...no response. So I waited until my appt. (a month after getting the prescription) to ask. Dr. Choban is great as we all know!!

Congrats Angie and welcome Patty! I saw Dr. choban today and got another .5cc she seemed to think I was almost at the right spot. I had lost 16 lbs in a little over 8 wks so I am pleased. I am feeling great and can't wait to feel even better. Who would of thought I'd be thrilled with being 250lbs. Oh well it is what it is.

I agree Niki! I feel like i still have to stop myself with the quantity because i don't seem to fill up that fast. the types of food are the restriction for me. I guess I thought i would get fuller faster than i do. maybe i need a smidge more in my band. I will go on the 26th of this month and see if she will put more in. For right now I haven't lost for almost 2 weeks now.

Welcome Lyn!! Glad to see some more MCHS people on the site. I have a AP small 10cc band. I was thinking I wouldn't need anymore fill in June but I think one more should do the trick. happy you are all doing well. i seem to be stuck on this weight for a little while but I am learning to be patient.

Good for you Nikki!! I originally thought "How am I going to eat without drinking?" But if the band is tight enough you truly can't. if I have eaten an feel satisfied a drink makes me feel 'stuck" and then it gets unpleasant. I am doing well but somedays fel tighter than others. Not sure if I'll get more in the band or not. Glad it's finally working for you>

Wow what a difference!! I am now down a total of 42lbs!!Still quite a ways to go but feeling wonderful. 2nd fill was April 24 and since then have been losing pretty steadily. supposed to go again in June would love maybe one more cc.

ND: Yeah!!! hope all goes well Weirdest thing today I got up and weighed myself thinking Oh please let me at least be the same and not up because i haven't been eating the greatest. Got on the scale and was down 3 lbs!! just when i start to get discouraged or beating myself up I have a drop. Wearing just an XL scrub top tonight at work no more 2x and 3x!!! good Luck Nikki on the fill this one will really help at least it did for me.

Thinner me don't be crazy once your in your in!!!!! Whatever your choice you are on your way toa better you! I am happy with my band finally cause the scale is actually moving. Went to 2 graduation parties yesterday and ate sooo much less than i would have and it felt good to be full after a small amount. It seems inconsistent though and i might be cursing it next week.

Congrats ND on the approval now hang in there for the date!! Niki I was so hopeful after the second fill it was really working now this week not so much. I wonder if things get stretched out after awhile after the fill?? Haven't lost anything for over a week could be the time of the month but trying not to get discouraged. I feel like I'm back to making myself sto eating instead of getting full fast. I'm sure I'm still eating way less than before the band but I am so dang impatient!!

Hey all!! for the first time today i felt like i wasn't on a diet!!! I ate some things I shouldn't have but I only needed a small amount. trying not to get on the scales til next week because I've become(pardon the expression) a "scale whore" at least that's what they called it in the chat room. i hid them under my bed and am going to try not to dig them out. we'll see if eating small amounts of what i want is working. good to hear all of your stories of success and the frustrations too.

Hi everyone and welcome to the "newbies" as we have all been at the newbie stage before. I am feeling much restriction with my second fill and having success on the scale!!:thumbup: After spending a weekend in Newport KY and doing all the fun things down there i actually lost a pound. Instead of a 1/2 rack of ribs i had 3 bones and some baked potato and i was done. Usually it would have been an appetizer, bread and salad along with the ribs + 3 glasses of ice tea!! I'm really satisfied with my eating but can't amagine having more saline right now. Seems like sometimes i'm having trouble getting stuff down without discomfort. Anyway enough about me so happy for all of our success stories and support!!

I have to work also on the 9th and 10th so i can be off for my baby girl's 15 th birthday. So maybe I'll hit it in June

Niki let me know about the support group when you get the information. I seem to have a lot of Head Hunger I don't get physical hunger too often(other than in the middle of the night at work) It is weird to actually feel hungry though cause i used to never let myself get hungry.

Special K you are doing great!!! I only lost 14 before my first fill everyone else that day had lost 19. I am very pleased since my 2nd fill. I am losing pretty steadily now. Vomited for the first time since surgery yesterday after a granola bar and water bad combo!! Say no to granola. I am down about 6-7 lbs since April 24 when i got filled. Very pleased with the restriction:thumbup:

Glad to hear you all did well with the fills. I am finally feeling like this is working. I normally would eat a 10 piece McNugget for lunch and today I had to stop at 3!!! I wonder though if I am supposed to have as much discomfort with eating that I'm having. I feel like I am taking really small bites but then I still have pain with ceretain things. I have had a little"slime" if something lingers too long and causes me pain. I haven't had to throw anything up yet though Thank the Lord. Does this all sound normal?

What an exciting time bandfan. By the time you are finally approved for surgery and your mind is set there is no "cold feet" at least there wasn't for me. I got 2 more cc's for a total of 5 and now it feels pretty snug. I haven't had any vomitng or anything but i can sure feel most foods going down and eating isn't quite as enjoyable. I guess this is restriction huh?

Well got 2 more cc's on thurs. Wow is that a big difference. Seems pretty snug now. I had 1 white castle and a little chicken that was prettty tough to go down and I am STUFFED! I tell you I didn't enjoy eating at all it was kind of a chore. so I guess this is restriction huh?:smile2:

Don't beat yourself up Nikki as I have been struggling too. I am on my way in a few minutes to see Dr. Choban. I hope this fill will help. You are probably doing better than you think you are. I'll let you know how mine goes today.
