I was banded on Jume 19th I still get hungrey at times BUt I am on normal foods so that helps holding me over I just had my doc appointment yesterday for my 2 week and I am downa totall of 31.5 pounds I was so excited BUT my clothes still fit WOW! I was hoping to go down a size soon I am sure it will before long. I went swimming yesterday with the kids things went well with that. We are planning a camping trip so that will be my next adventure. I still have some discomfort Good luck to everyone

I will remember you as your time comes closer I have lost a total of 31lbs that was from the two week before surgery diet to the 2 week after surgery Good luck with everything

I just found this thread I think it is great About a month before my surgery I went and talked to my pastor and he assured me that he sees nothing wrong with going for medical help . My mother also did the same thing before she went in for her weight loss surgery and she was told teh same thing. I think the Lord gave the doc the knowledge and wisedom to help us all overweight people. Good luck to you all I am 2 weeks and 2 days after surgery and thank GOD it has gotten better

I was banded on June 19 I have my check up on July 5 BUT starting last thur or FRi so a few days ago I started having like a burning feeling in my throat sometimes it feels like It is swollen sometimes it just hurts- like a horriable score throat. At times it is harder to eat than others Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone else have any ideas My appointment is only 5 days away but that is a long wait if this keeps up Thank you :ranger:

I called teh doctor today and he said that I have Thush (not sure how to spell it) He said that it was from some of the meds they put you on in surgery. I am on difulcan for one month WOW and also I have to go back to liquids untill I can swallow without pain. I hope teh meds will start working soon.

I will look in the am or I will have my husband look when he gets up Is this something that is normal to get a throat infection? do you know it is caused by? I think I will give the doc on call a call when it is a decent time as right now it is 4am Thanks

I was banded on June 19th In Michigan I am doing well I am doing more stuff around he house But I am suffering from I think is gas it is in my left chest area and shoulder Has anyone else had this problem if so what could help it does come and go so the surgons office said it may be a pulled musle Good luck to all of you June is almost over

every insurance company is different It should be 40/35 But we do not make teh rules :eek:

I totally understand my BMI was at 47 or 48 and my insurance said it had to be at 50 so it would be covered -after my copay it paid. I talke dto the doc and they wrote a letter and I got approval kind of quickly I was also planning on gaining weight thankgoodness I did not have to I did research on the internet and wrote down everything that I had going on with me that could be blamed on weight and I gave it to my doc to send to the insurance company. I was so thankful Talk to the doc be open about it tell him if you have to you will gain the weight they may be more willing to help you

3 days is extremely soon I totally agree and I feel like you should call and talk to your doc if they say it is fine than go right ahead But I woudl not do it with out there ok and tehre knowledge of it. YOu have been thru the worst part it is onlyt a few more days or week than you can look back on the days after surgery and be thankfull those are behind you I wish I was losing 1 lb a day I have my check up next week than I will know for sure what my weight has done Good luck to you

I did not have to stay in the hospital over night I was teher from 5.00am untill 5.30 pm It was a long day I am doing OK Today I actually did stuff around my house that has been long forgotten about I am score tonight but that is my own fault for over doing it. Today I felt so much better and I could not sit down any longer I am a stay at home mom so I will not be returning to work My doctor said that he wante dme off work for 2 weeks and that he will write a letter saying that for my employer I looked at my husband and asked him if he thought it would help for me to get a 2 week break he just laughed. I was allowed to shower the next day after surgery they said to pat my incusions dry do not rub You may want to call your doc office to verify

I had surgery on June 19 and I will have a 2 week post op an dthan a 6 week post op that will include a fill I think they will normally wait 6 weeks fo rthe first fill an dthan you can get one every 4-6 weeks after that Good luck

I totally agree you have to talk to your doc office about your diet ALL I was saying I would think you are fine my Doc office told me that I could go on soft foods now 6 days post op LOTS of books and others sites say post op liquid for only 2 days and than soft So yes every doc is different I am going to one of the best doc in my state of Mich so I am not concerned If they tell me I can eat normal food I will and I will tell other people that also if it will ease tehre mind that they ate something taht was not liquid. BUT YES YOU HAV ETO CALL YOUR DOC FOR ANY CHANGES TO YOUR DIET I guess i thought that was a given I think people on this site just like to yell at people but anything you read you should consult the doc first this is just for information use.

I would be VERY carefull about going to Mexico I am not trying to start a debate but the US has the health guidllines and the costs are there for your own stafty and you can find lots of people on the site that has had horriable luck some with good luck but I kind of look at teh horriable experiance on going to Mexico I feel like my life is more inportant than trying to travel to Mexico to save a few bucks you also will need check ups and you can ot for get the cost of that travel All I am saying is be very carefull

from what I understand is taht in the US it is law that you can not have the surgery if your BMI is under 35 and that is with helath peoblems without health problems the BMI is 40 It sounds like thet are trying to change it to be 30 but right now you may have trouble finding a GOOD doc because you are under the requirement by law I would be very carefull if a doctor says he would do it. CHeck him out lots. My BMI was 47 so I was fat enough my insurance did say I had to be 50 before they would pay for it but they did end up in teh end paying for most of it Good luck

I lost 18 lbs in 1 week I was at 298 I could not handle the shakes and so forth so I was put on 800 max cal per day and 60+ protien per day It is possiable it may be hard but it is possiable make sure you drink lots of water The more protien you get in the better Good luck to you

I had surgery on June 19 so today I am 7 days post op Yesterday I talked to my doc and he put me on soft food. They said anything I could handle and it goes down ok is fine they sais chicken and deli meat was good all white meat is ok just not red meat I think you are fine Good luck

how long were you in pain from the cuts They say the port point may be unfortable for 6-8 weeks that is ok as long as it is better than I have been dealing with

I was banded on June 19th Can anyone else tell me if the pain in teh stomack is normal Getting up from a sitting postion is horriable How long will this last I am sure it will be worth the wait

I was just banded on Tue.6/19/07 I am 29 I know I am one of the younger ones at my docs also I feel the younger the better the less years your body will hav ethe extra weight. I am in a lot of pain as of today just one and a half days afetr my banding I am sure it gets better Good luck to you
