    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Atlanta, I'm so glad to hear you are doing better. I'm sorry I haven't been keeping the list up either...I haven't been able to sit at my actual computer (just posting from my iPad) so I haven't been able to do copying and pasting. So glad to hear good news from you! Keep recovering!!

I have ordered the Unjury unflavored and it should be on it's way soon! Thanks for the feedback!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I'd be interested in that as well. I do have an unflavored protein, but it wouldn't mix in with anything hot and I ended up chewing little balls of protein (this was pre-op) that made me sick to my stomach...so I am looking for something that dissolves well, or mixes in well and has no taste!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi Kamina....I am a fellow 11th sleever. I think I get a few hunger pains...but if I do, I usually have a SF Popsicle or jello, or a glass of V-8 which I am allowed on the liquid diet. I am 4 days away from the puréed stage (you wanna know how many minutes that is...lol) and I think life will become much more manageable. I am struggling to get in the protein because normally I am just too full to get in more than 3 shakes a day, but am getting around 50 oz of liquids and about 50 grams of protein...close, but just can barely stomach (no pun intended) the shakes at this point.

I rethought it as many people will have Sunday be their weigh in day....so I will post the pounds lost on Monday's! But no worries...it's cumulative so if you don't get your numbers to me one week, it will certainly be included the next week!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Cabstewart....I felt a tremendous amount of pressure in my tummy after eating, and even just walking...it just felt like my tummy was 'hard' if that makes sense, around the incision. It's getting much better now...it just takes time... I read this which helps put things in perspective...while our tummies are freshly surgeried, out teeny tine tummies are the size of a #2 pencil. Once the swelling goes down, our teeny tiny tummies will be the size of a Sharpie marker...that's probably why they say to do an 8 oz shake in an hour... Keep on keeping on....short term pain for long term gain my friend!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi Jaime...I was sleeved on the 11th, and am scheduled to return to work on Monday. My boss said that if I needed more time, it wouldn't be a problem....but I don't feel ready to go back. Right now I am able to get my 10 minute walks in, but the pain in the large incision starts after about 5 or 6 minutes. I can't imagine being on my feet sitting for 8 hours. Also, I am able to get in only 3 shakes a day for a grand protein total of about 50 g a day. I am SO full all of the time, the I just don't want to drink anymore. It's tough for sure! Good luck to you...glad that you are here...if you want to participate on the pounds lost forum, jump over to that thread...we're having a blast over there already!

By the way...I love, love, love the reporting formatting you all are using: HW SW CW This makes it super easy to track on the spreadsheet, so if everyone would be willing to report this way, it would be awesome!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi Shelly, One thing I have been told throughout this whole process is that no one goes through the same process (I know that sounds so cliche). I can tell you that I am 8 days post op, and still can't bend without pain. I also can't be on my feet for more than about 4 or 5 minutes before my large incision starts to hurt. I was just finally able to sleep on my side for the first time last night. I can tell you that between yesterday and today, I feel marked improvement...I thought by a week, I'd be doing great....not so much yesterday...was feeling quite icky....but woke up this morning feeling quite a bit of improvement... The worst part is dropping the soap in the shower and having to call my hubby in to pick it up for me. Hang in there...two days is so few...I was barely walking at 2 days.

December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log

Good news everyone! I am back up long enough to sit at a computer and get everyone's numbers down on the spreadsheet. GREAT numbers coming so far... If you have numbers to report POST-OP, please do so and I will get them added. I believe I have everyone down...just a few questions. L-in-NJ - I have your weight loss so far, but I don't seem to have a record of how many pounds you would like to lose. I may have missed the post, so if you could just send that info to me, I would appreciate that. keep those numbers coming!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi Tami... I am on Lortab and it is a liquid that comes in little individual cups...and I am quite sure has to be the worst tasting liquid medication I have ever tasted in my entire life...lol

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Today is day 6 post op. I made it over 24 hours without the Lortab, but had to take some in the middle of the night. I can sit down without assistance or pain, but getting up is still pretty much a stinger in my large incision. Drinking is going okay...I gurgle a lot still when I drink the shakes, but tried decaf coffee today and that went down just fine. I am still battling thrush from the antibiotics, so that is mildly irritating and makes things taste strange, and walking for too long really makes that big incision hurt as well. I keep an ice pack in that large incision pretty much 24 hours a day which helps a lot.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi all...I'm 5 days post op and am just finally beginning to feel somewhat human again. My last dosage of pain meds was at 10 PM last night, and although I am not up to 64 oz of liquid, I am over half way there. I should be able to do some updating on the pounds lost thread tomorrow...it's never too late to join if you want to...we'd love to see you there! Best wishes to everyone being sleeved tomorrow...since I am doing this lying down on my iPad I can't send the list of people going tomorrow, but you are all in my prayers.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I, too, am post op 5 days, and can't drink a single shake without a lot of gurgling. Yesterday it was painful gurgling, today it's just lot of earthquake type gurgling. I have been using the Gas-x strips that melt on your tongue, and Omeprazole, which seems to help a bit". Right now the only thing that doesn't seem to gurgle is Popsicles. I do make sure that my mouth is closed when I sip to eliminate excess air from going in, but I am sure there is still so much swelling and rawness that it only makes sense that it wouldn't be completely smooth yet.

Keep those fabulous numbers coming...I'm going to make a goal for tomorrow to be up long enough to provide some stats...sorry, my recovery has taken a bit longer than I hoped... You all are doing GREAT!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi everyone... Just a quick check in...still trying to recover, and am having som definite pain around the incision site. I have a LOT of gurgling as I am drinking my shakes, and am not making the 64 oz a day quite yet. Good luck to everyone this week...keep in mind when you are on the other side and tired of hurting (like I am) that it's short term pain for long term gain. Not a second of 'buyer's remorse' at all!! Praying for you Andrew!
