Yes, I am getting VERY nervous. I had about 2 weeks notice on my lap band and that was probably better - now I have lots of time to worry! When in Oct and what kind of surgery are you having?

The post op diet you read about isn't correct. I was on liquids for 2 days and then pureed foods for 4 weeks. I also don't get where "angry" falls into this equation. Either this procedure is right for you or it isn't. It will take effort to lose weight whatever you choose to do. Good luck and welcome to LBT.

I am kind of nervous! I know that I need to have a hernia repaired so my surgeon thought that he could fix it while I am getting a tummy tuck to avoid a second surgery and extra scars........ so that has moved my timeline up for surgery considerably. I really want to lose at least 25 more lbs before I have anything done though. It is a female ps which I am very pleased about. I would like a LBL - my front half isn't nearly as bad as my backside but the front is where the hernia is. My thighs are a scary wreck - really they make me want to cry. My arms are also something I want to ask her about - I am most self-conscious about them. My breasts are last on my list somehow because they look "ok" in a bra - I would like a lift at some point. I keep feeling like the ps is going to take one look at me and me like "sorry there is nothing that can be done for you" - I know that is just body issues rearing its ugly head.

I want my fat to melt, ooze and die. How do I get them to do that? I need to know quick because I am seeing my PS tomorrow!

Tomorrow is my follow-up appointment with the PS. I had wanted to lose 25lbs since the consult in March but I am only down slightly under 20. I am planning to have the surgery in September so I guess there is still time. Feel kind of nervous and hope that I will get a surgery date tomorrow.

At first people seem really happy for you that you are losing weight but then the smiles start looking less happy for you. I think that everyone is happy when someone goes from obese to slighly plump... when you go from plump to svelte it call their own weight into question.

My guess is that the wine made you a little tighter and the stress is making it worse. Make sure to drink a lot of water to rehydrate yourself.

Karey : I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. What were your first symptoms? what you are describing is my true nightmare. How tight were you? I am sorry you are feeling so depressed and the pain sounds terrible if you were looking forward to anesthesia!

Hey Becky So excited to see your pictures because I am having the same procedure in September. I am about a 8 dress, or 10 pants right now. I keep thinking about how many inches may be removed and doing calculations in my head about what size I might be! so silly right?! Anyway if i look 1/2 as good as you do after my LBL I will be thrilled.

Hate to tell you but I think you should probably count on having loose skin with either surgery. Depends on some factors like age, where you carry weight and skin type but most people have tons of loose skin anyway.

So exciting! What size were you before the LBL?

Mine is still falling out like crazy. I have been told that it will stop when my weight is more stable.

My ps said she didnt want to do lbl in the summer for me because of the heat. I didn't quite understand why but - Salsa you suffering sheds some light on that! Glad you have ac now! -- keep cool

Hi Wasa: I have a question for you - did insurance pay for your revision? I have had virtually no band problems in almost a year, in fact it has been pretty easy for me and I am almost at goal but I do live in fear of having some problem that would make my band not effective or need to be taken out and I always wonder if I would qualify for a revision if my BMI is in the normal range. Thanks in advance and thanks for sharing your story with us.

I am so sorry. That sounds terrible. Can you arrange to eat by yourself? I find eating by myself so much more relaxing these days.
