I agree about them needing to do a biggest loser women's and biggest loser men's. It totally is unfair that they are competing with unlevel playing fields. I wonder why the producer's haven't decided to do that? Isn't it obvious. By the way - I agree about Kelly but I really don't like Mark and Jay - particularly Mark. Also Dan is getting so arrogant. It is nice to see him have better confidence with his weight loss but still he is getting a bit annoying.

PBing and Sliming and Vomiting, Oh My.....
KarenG. replied to Allison's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is kind of different than vomiting because you don't have the stomach acid - also no nausea (usually) -
I have had 4 already. I have been very restricted for almost 2 1/2 - 3 months now and lost about 26-27 lbs during that time period. In the last 2 weeks my portions have been getting bigger and I have been getting hungrier between meals. Am I jumping the gun on a fill? I decided to get the ball rolling and at least schedule an appointment with the nutritionist for this week. My restriction is totally inconsistant - one day I can eat a ton - one day I feel pretty restricted again - all and all my restriction has decreased since where it was at my optimal restriction when I was losing weight more quickly. What do you guys think?
-
Thanks so much Luluc: You are doing great too. I had an issue when I got my last fill when I wasn't eating enough before spinning classes (4-5x per week) and I was told to have another snack 1/2 yogourt or glass of skim milk when I was spinning.
-
Restriction is kind of different for everyone. FOr me it means that I feel stuffed and if i go too far I get a painful lump in my throat. That means I have eaten too much. You probably need another fill because when I was properly restricted I barely felt hunger. You are right about the reviewing thing. I naturally prefer healthy foods so that was never an issue for me - portions are. My doctors office has us do a food log for a while before deciding about a fill so I think I will accomplish both.

I definately use food as a stress reducing tool but now it just doesn't work as well. Over the past few months I have been replacing food with exercise when stressed. Doesn't always work out but it can help sometimes.

How many incisions did you wind up with after surgery?
KarenG. replied to JennyC724's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I wonder why some surgeons use 4, 5 or 6 incisions? Not that it really matters - I am 7 months out and my incisions are tiny and really nothing - just curious in case anyone knows. -
Right Above My Port I feel......................
KarenG. replied to josephine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just checked it and that is for sure what I am feeling. I am not that thin yet but I have very little (always have had little) abdominal fat - mine is all elsewhere. Thanks for the info. -

Has anyone tried it? I only can drink in the morning but I sometimes put it in my milk - it is a sugar free powder that makes malted milk or malted chocolate milk and had vitamins in it. I highly recommend. I can get it at super stop and shop but it can also be ordered online.

I have a consult on 3/31. MY skin is getting me down. I know I still look better than before but naked I look HORRIBLE. EVERYTHING is sliding down.
-
You add it to milk and it IS YUMMY!

I am trying to think of this as a "test date" I haven't been on a blind date in years because I was recently out of a relationship right before surgery. I know I should look better now but I don't feel very attractive. Can you tell I am nervous?? Wish me luck tonight!

It sounds to me like you are eating too much and irritating your esophagus. That happened to me after my last fill when I was still adjusting to eating less.

I was just looking to see if anyone had this issue. I think I feel my tubing too! Weird. Not comfortable either. -
Wish me luck - first blind date since surgery
KarenG. replied to KarenG.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel a little better with your support. Dating s*&cks! Particuarly when I dont feel great about my body in this transition stage. Also since I am losing weight quickly nothing ever looks "great" for more than a week or two. -
And he has been great. I should have written that in my first post. Totally trust him and his staff.
-
Yes, he is my surgeon. Feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions.

I think it will be fine at your weight. I started at like 220. You can adjust the resistance to your fitness level and who really cares how you look? When you walk out of the room nobody will give it another thought and you will feel great. go for it.

ask for soybean paper - it is pretty soft. or just get sashimi or tartar. I love sushi!

The insurance thing is so stressful. I am following your situation - keep us updated!

Wish me luck - first blind date since surgery

He sent me a rejection email that he felt no "chemistry" with me. I guess I am hideous.. just joking really. Not confidence inspiring though. -
Wish me luck - first blind date since surgery
KarenG. replied to KarenG.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not sure how it went. He wasn't quite what I expected - very nice and interesting - we talked easily. Not sure if the attraction was there on either side. I guess I wait to hear if he wants to go out again? He didn't say anything at the end of the date so that seems bad but on the other hand I am not sure what I want either. At least I got my feet wet. Also the eating went fine, I was very worried about that because I am pretty restricted and you know how it is when you need to talk and eat. -
Definately! You look GREAT!
