My very first bikini!
ohh_mandyy replied to ohh_mandyy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you! I wore it to the lake today and it felt AMAZING! Congrats on your surgery! The first week was definitely the hardest for me and it just got easier from there. My exercises of choice are Spin classes and Bodypump classes. Weight training is very important so don't forget that. But take exercise slow this early on in your journey. Wait til your doctor clears you and go as slow as your body tells you to for now. It was hard for me to get used to exercising on such low caloric intake. You'll do great! -

Nope, I'm getting cut on Wednesday! I'm so excited/nervous! I'm 5'7". My starting weight is a wee bit lower, but I'm also a couple years older than you (27), so maybe it will even out. I'd be over the moon for results like yours, so fingers are tightly crossed! And again, congrats on your success!
That's so exciting! Good luck on Wednesday! You'll do great and I'm sure you'll be in a bikini before you know it! -

Thank you! I'm about 5'6" and I'm 23. My loose skin isn't as bad others but I definitely notice it: but I'd rather have loose skin than skin filled with fat. Have you had surgery yet? -

Thanks y'all! My highest weight was 273 and now I'm 165! I had surgery on May 15, 2013. Lylabelle- congrats on your surgery! You'll do great! Here's a before an after pic so you see my pre op! -
I have been extremely dizzy and light headed lately. I have to catch myself sometimes at work if I turn around or get up too quickly. I'm 11 months post op and down 108 pounds. I'm trying to lose another 15-20. I eat about 600 calories a day give or take a little. I've tried to increase my calories but I have a really hard time mentally. Any suggestions on how to rid of this dizziness?

Very light headed and dizzy
ohh_mandyy replied to ohh_mandyy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I get about 70 ounces of water in a day. I just don't have the desire to eat much because the only way I lose weight is by having very low calories. I can easily maintain with a little higher caloric intake and exercise but I'd still like to lose some. Not sure if maybe I'm lacking certain vitamins that may be making me so dizzy. -
Cumadin Question (Pre Op)
ohh_mandyy replied to Photo925's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I had a similar situation to you. I also had a pulmonary embolism and a dvt and was on Coumadin for a long time. I have a genetic blood clotting disorder. I had my sleeve surgery and was put on lovenox prior to the surgery and afterwards and had no complications. I was worried about the blood thinners and surgery together but the staff seemed confident that everything would go smoothly and the only effect I noticed was a little extra bruising. -
I am almost 9 months out and my weight loss has been stalled for about a month. I'm about 20 lbs from my goal and have already lost 103 lbs. I have been staying between 600-800 calories a day but my nutritionist said to increase it to around 1000. That has been hard for me. For one I find it physically hard to get that much food in. Two I'm so afraid of eating that much for fear of gaining weight. I'm not sure what the right amount is. Any advice/suggestions are welcome!

My 21 yr old is considering sleeve
ohh_mandyy replied to NMJG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 23 and was sleeved 10 months ago and I'm down 106 pounds. It was the best decision of my life and I have not regretted it once. But with that said, not only do I eat tiny portions due to my sleeve I eat clean and exercise regularly and lead an overall healthy lifestyle which I'm sure you know is key to success. I think as long as he truly understands that and is ready to embrace that part of this life change, than age does not matter. I opted for the surgery at a young age because I have watched my family members suffer from obesity related health issues. I absolutely did not want to go through that so I took advantage of this tool now to prevent those issues before they started. The sleeve is great for any age as long as you're mentally prepared for the work it takes. -

So grateful for the amazing tool I've been given! I've felt pretty down today about my stall in weight loss but I did a comparison pic and it reminded me how far I've really come. 103 pounds gone forever!

Thank you guys so much! -
I do eat fruits and veggies. I snack on carrots and apples. When I eat lower calories I usually get about 60-70 grams of protein. When I've been upping my calories like the nut suggested I've been aiming for 90+ grams of protein. I just feel like I'm constantly eating when I aim to eat 1000 calories and that is hard for me physically and mentally.
