Oct. 31 Surgey date And im nervous!
birdmadgirl replied to Saily84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you are for sure not overreacting. You are going through what most if not all of us went through. I know I completely lost my damn mind when I got my date and probably weekly thereafter. We all feel the same things you do about being worried about going back to old habits. Its normal to feel this way my dear. Just remember that you have been wanting this for a very long time and you are ready to do this. I am only 3 and a half weeks post op and it has been a rollercoaster ride for sure. Lots of emotions and lots of hardships with my addiction to food. I am down 16 lbs and I know they are gone forever and thats what motivates me. It will motivate you too. be calm and understand this is the best thing you can do for YOU and enjoy the journey. -
Am 3 1/2 weeks post op and have only lost 16 lbs so far. None in the last week. Getting worried.

birdmadgirl replied to GlutenFreeSingleMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The same thing happens to me. Your body is adjusting to not eating solid foods. This will all pass and time just be patient. -
This place has been a life saver for me.. when I was pre op, I thought I would lose my mind with worry. No matter how many threads I started with me freaking out, everyone was so encouraging and helpful. Now that I am 3 weeks post op, I find everyone to be helpful in a different way. I am on here more than facebook! everyone on here has been in your shoes and everyone on here is rooting for you including me! Feel free to message any of the wonderful people on here for any guidance or advice you feel you need. They will always be willing, myself included! I love it here!

Whos in September? We need some September buddies!
birdmadgirl replied to janie2024's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am struggling too my darling. I am an emotional rollercoaster, worried about everything.. what I'm eating.. what I'm drinking.. what if I do this, what if I dont do that.. blah blah. I'm only down 15lbs in 3 weeks and I wanted faster results. I just bought some premeir protein shakes from sams club. they are 30g of protein in one small tasty shake. 2 of those and I have just about met my protein goals. I am hoping this speeds things up for me. I still have some pain but its going away slowly. I get frustrated, I get overwhelmed, I get regrettful.. Its part of the journey and I have to believe that it will get better and it actually is day by day. If you ever need someone to talk to.. message me and I will be there for you at the drop of a hat. I understand what you are going through and I am going through the same thing. hugs! -

Just saying!!!! -
I dont believe my clinic did drug testing but my advice would be to stop all smoking of anything at least a month before your surgery. I was a smoker and stopped before surgery. it can hinder your healing and make you more prone to a leak.
