Hi everyone I had my band done on thurs 12 July, i lost 7kg b4 the op and since another 3kg!!! I was so excited the morning of the op that i was shaking. One good thing is that i had my op done at 6pm so when i got back to the ward i slept all night (apart from when the nurse came in to check me out). The most painful bit i found was the port site but it feels so much better 4 days later, i feel lucky that i didn't get that gas pain people said i'd get.

That's what i reakon, will save on the groceries! though it doesn't seem fair that we have to pay for it privately when the govt can save in the long run with not having to pay for hospital care if anything goes wrong with our health, one of the reasons i'm having this done is so i don't become sick with being overweight and being admitted into hospital (it properbly save 10's of thousand of dollars in the long run!!!!:clap2:

Hi Dale Thanks so much for your reply, i'm having my op done by Grant Coulter also, i met with the dietician yesterday and gave info about this website and had told me about your get togethers on a Monday night and it was just by fluke that i found this kiwi thread. I would have loved to have gone to your get together but having 3 kids under 4 it's not possible and i live in Parklands. Your awesome weight loss to date give me something to aspire towards:clap2:, thanks so much. Fleur

Hi there, have joined up today, i'm having my op 12 july and very excited about it as i didn't think i would ever have the op done as with having 3 kids under 4yrs old wasn't practical travelling to Auckland, so i'm so pleased they have it here in CHCH. After the op how quickly do you bounce back? as i'm not too sure with having to look after my kids afterwards.
