Hi Sunette. I'm pre- sleeve and in Perth too! How are you going? I found 'Protein To Go ' at IGA. In a small 74 ml bottle, is fruit based, no milk, no sugar or sweetener, but is sweet. Consistency is a bit like runny honey. Ok to drink on own or I guess you could dilute. I just bought today, tried a little in Water, not sweet, so good:) 28 gm and 137 cals per serve. Cost me $3.99 each. http://proteintogo.com.au/ love to hear how you've gone now you're 4 months out:) -
Anyone else hate the protein shakes?
Aussiebon replied to reenalee's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I am in Australia,(Perth, WA) decided to start shakes before meeting with surgeon (appointment on 31st July '13). Decided to go with Optislim Platinum. Didn't realise was a difference between os and Optifast lol. I actually really like this product and am really bummed I can not use anymore. If you don't have BP issues this is a great product (if made with hilo milk around 20gm protein a serve). Started off just taking one for breakfast. Noticed some tell tale signs (for me, everyone is different) my usually well managed BP getting bit high. Didn't worry, all else good so dismissed. When I finished the first box i bought another and decided to increase to two shakes per day. Mistake! Symptoms increased Even with combination meds BP 181/109. I stopped taking and BP now coming down. I had checked with pharmastst before taking who said if BP under control should be ok. I think the problem is the ginseng can't take with high BP, also bit salty so could be that too, not sure. So be careful:) -

Dr Visits- did you know there are no fat Pow?
Aussiebon replied to BellaHugz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with others, if you can, do her bosses a favour and give them evidence to support either sacking her or starting a performance management process. This woman needs to learn, maybe the hard way, this behaviour is NOT acceptable. She acted as if a 'mean girl' and a bully. She abused her power by giving an unsolicited personal opinion which she had no right to voice in her work role. She delivered her statement, when she had you captive, belittled and demeaned you, then went about her job all self important and sanctimonious, as if nothing had happened, most likely knowing full well how hurtful she'd been. Actually I feel sorry for her, how unhappy she must be to be so mean - a prisoner of her own inner war - must be eh, probs why she's so skinny! Cracking myself up now ( aka laughing at own joke) Sending love and light to you from Australia (ps. We have mean girls here too!) -

Hope you start to feel better soon. Be good to youself. Think what we focus on tends to get bigger. Think if we focus on our fears and regrets, we feed them, give them power and they can grow. We have a choice. We can control what we focus our thoughts on. Chose to focus on speedy recovery, on the reasons why you chose to have WLS. I know easy for me to say, cause I'm pre- surgery, just thinking. Sending you positive energy. Good luck.

Thanks for being so honest. I get the freak out thing, had the same response myself in the past. I'm pre surgery and your words are really a reminder to me this has been part of the reason why I'm here! Bizarre I'd forgotten! WLS is my choice, I am going to try to use my energy to keep bringing my focus back to me and what will be helpful to me. I hope I can remember this, be kind to me, and kick my own butt if I allow myself to get into too much of an avoidant pity party! Good luck!

Awesome! Look forward to following your journey. Be brave, be strong, and breathe!
