Can anyone help me? I am 6 weeks out and down 50 pounds! I would love to celebrate it, but I am miserable. I am literally on the brink of the worst hunger pains I have ever felt, all day, everyday. My sad attempts to eat just make me feel nauseated. Starving, nauseated, starving again...-all day! This can't go on forever can it? Will I ever turn the corner ? What's wrong with me?

So help me out, someone! I was just seriously railed against in another support forum for people who were sleeved in July of this year. The reason being, I expressed my concern about all of the comments from people who were already eating Hershey kisses, filet o fish (McDonald's), frozen yogurt, and Cookies. Maybe I am the one missing the boat here, but that seems like very risky behavior to me. Even only if eating half the fried fish filet or only one cookie, this seems like an addict who only snorts one line of coke. The people were very upset with me for pointing this out and expressing my concern (even though I didn't name anyone in particular). They said that they won't live their lives "counting calories" and "not enjoying their lives". Am I missing something? I am counting every calorie of everything I eat! I am trying to analyze my behavior so I can compare it to what I was doing before surgery and learn from it. Am I doing something wrong? Should I be happy that I can only eat 1/2 a large order of fries??? That seems crazy to me, but maybe I am being too strict and setting myself up for failure. Someone, please help!

Keep in mind, I specifically said that my comment was not posted to anyone in particular. It was not in response to anyone, it was a general "I am concerned" comment to my specific, small group of sleevers.

Denise, where did you get "judgment" from? Why is asking the question equal to judging? Why is saying "I am concerned for you" judging? Of that constitutes judging then I might as well not participate in these threads anymore. It seems like the only thing I could have/should have done is personally mail the person a McDonald's gift card and tell them to have the next one on me!

6 months befor and after PICTURES!
Mindful replied to TapSnap's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am new here... Just operated on a few days ago. Your turnaround is astounding! So proud of you! I have to ask, I don't see many men on this forum. I am looking for a "buddy" as I get this started. I figured if sponsors work in AA and NA, there must be a reason. Are you interested in mentoring a newbie? We appear to be similar in age. We both seem to be athletically inclined. From my perspective, you have been successful, which is a big plus. If you aren't interested, do you have any ideas on where to find one? -
Goal weight/ dietician...
Mindful replied to Cindeez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From years and years is a serious athlete, I believe that goal weights and BMI's are BS. sure they can be directionally good, but to me it ends there. You should have a goal shape, a goal size and a goal feeling. Those are the things that matter! How healthy are you? How well do your clothes fit? If you gotten rid of the threatening risk factors for diabetes, heart problems, another chronic diseases? Are you comfortable in your own skin? Can you run, play, engage in a normal martial sex life? To me, that is when goal is reached! -
Two days out and my stomach is talking
Mindful posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No matter how little I sip, as soon as I ingest anything my stomach starts doing somersaults. Really uncomfortable. Discouraging. Am I doing something wrong? -
Tomorrow is the day. I never considered the possibility of failure. However, I just read someone's post about failing and gaining their weight back. It took me down a rabbit hole of researching sleeve failure and weight regain. I feel like I read one story after another, after another of people who regained all of their weight. So this brings me to ask, does anyone succeed permanently? Does anyone not end up regaining weight? Am I doing this for no reason?

Autoimmune Issues and VSG?
Mindful replied to Tjohnson322's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Psoriatic Arthritis and psoriasis. I am on a horse-sized dose of Remicaid, and voltaren daily. I am on the OR table tomorrow for the sleeve. I will certainly know more about this soon. I have high hopes because the autoimmune disorder is killing me. Constant discomfort and very often pain. I know that weight and diet won't fix this alone, but I am hoping that a major reduction in weight will be helpful. The only thing I am nervous about is how, if at all, the medicine will impact my healing and how my body will react to it once I re-start it after surgery. -
