I don't like judgmental behavior, and I hate to be a hypocrite, BUT I think in this situation I may wind up having to judging a book by its cover. If its cover is nice and plump and appears to be genuinely interested to know my secret, I think I will tell them how I and maybe how they too can lose the weight. BUT if the cover is all slim and trim and appears to be just nosey, then they will most definitely be getting a different response.

Go to Sams, and get some Premier brand ready made shakes. Comes in vanilla and chocolate. They have 30 grams of protein. I always buy them when I would do low carb/high protein and I would actually have to hide them from my husband or he would drink them all up. Tasty!

Maybe the friendships not totally dead. Maybe its just asleep right now. Who knows, she may yet wake up to seek friendship and forgiveness and that will be up to you. After all you guys have been friends for a very long time and I'm sure there are a lot of good memories. But if she does come around, tell her just exactly how you feel and how much she has hurt you. I believe in second chances, but you have to do what feels right for you.

Good decision, but try your best to take the high road and rise above it. You can chose to forgive someone, and it is a good thing, but you don't have to put yourself in the company of people who are only going to make you feel bad. Its times like this you learn who your true friends are. If you find one or two people in this world besides your parents or family, who will be there for you and never let you down, count yourself blessed.

I've got some of those pictures, recent ones too. They are hard to look at because when I look in the mirror, I just don't see myself that big. Its a good idea, to have some current ones right before your surgery. Hopefully in a few months I'll be posting my before and afters also. You look AMAZING lady, keep up the great work, and be proud of yourself, you've worked hard! -
You shell them, but some of the baby ones have such a soft shell, you can eat the whole thing. Peanuts are legumes so the are in the same family as a lot of beans and peas. Look at the picture on my original post, you can see where I have opened one so you can see what the actual peanut looks like.

We usually boil up a big batch and freeze them in individual bags. Just take them out when you want some and thaw them out. I love them cold!

There is a guy in a nearby town (bogalusa) that boils peanuts year round and bags them up and goes around and sells them to business and at fairs high school parking lots the hospital etc. A friend of his told me he actually buys large sacks of raw dried peanuts and them boils them in huge pots outside, like we boil crawfish. Since the shells are dry, it takes high heat and a long time to cook but it can be done. He wears a tshirt and has a big sign on his van that says. "Get ya money in ya hand and come see the peanut man" LOL. He sells roasted peanuts also but nothing like those boiled ones. Around here people just love these things.!

Does anything know about death in Mexico.

This may sound stupid but I've never eaten Tofu, is it a soy product? I can't do soy, my PCP told me to stay away from soy because my thyroid is on the low end of normal and there are studies that show soy suppresses the thyroid.

I just love my rosé colored glasses, I'm wearing them right now. In fact, if I didn't wear my rosé colored glasses, I'd be done killed somebody. I think everybody needs a pair of rosé colored glasses.....and a glass of wine doesn't hurt either.

So damn hungry...

I like soy milk but my thyroid gland does not. My thyroid is on the low end of normal so I am not on any medication. My PCP said to stay away fro soy products because it suppresses the thyroid. -

I think it also depends on who and where your surgery takes place. I will share this, 12 years ago before I was married and had no insurance, I was at the mercy of LSU AKA "charity" hospital. The way patients are used in these facilities is for lack of a better word, terrible to say the least. By used I mean practiced on. After having a botched gallbladder surgery, a week later I was rushed back to the ER with the most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my life. I then layed on a gurney for another 48hr while student after student came in to poke and prod on me all for the sake of practice. They start out with the smallest IV needle they have so that they can keep coming in to tell you they have to change to a bigger needle(practice). That went on about 5 or six times. Finally after my mom threw a hellacious fit they decided it was time for me to go to surgery to take care of the bile peritonitis they had discovered about 8 hours earlier on a cat scan. After a lengthy surgery and unsuccessfully finding the leak in my bile duct, three days later I had an ERCP done while I was WIDE AWAKE! Words cannot express that experience. I actually think i suffered post traumatic stress disorder over that.So you see it does make a difference even right here in the good ole US of A. However I did live and I think that is where a lot of cover up goes on in this country, with the patients who live not the patients who die. -

I agree with this, but only to a certain degree. Ya gotta know that Dr's here in the US cover each others butts all the time. I'm a victim of that, so frustrating I tell you. -
how does this play out?

LipstickLady is right. I have not had my sleeve done yet but I can tell you she is right about using the acid blocker. I had my gallbladder removed years ago and have since put on a LOT of weight. I've always had that hungery feeling since having had that surgery. It took 12 years and me coming on this forum to learn about this acid thing causing a hunger feeling. No Dr ever told me about that. I've been on Prilosec for 2 weeks now and can already feel the difference. I plan on filling up my carry on with the stuff when I go to MX to have my sleeve. -

ebonisekim, YOU LOOK AWESOME! I looked at your before and after pics and you and I have a similar shape. Just want to say congratulation, you inspire me! -
Oh and BTW, it was an all women's gym and these were the married ladies, so who the HECK were they trying to impress dressing alike and wearing full makeup?!? @TwinsMama I'll tell ya who, each other! I am a hairstylist and I see and hear it all the time. Women can be some of the most green eyed competitive biotches on this earth! If you get a new car they will smile and tell you how happy they are for you. They really aren't! If you lose 100Lbs, they will tell you how happy they are for you. They aren't! Be on guard, because a delivery truck is going to pull up in front of your house with a GREAT BIG cookie bouquet, form you guessed it your dear green eyed friend. Got your boobs done, they tell you how awesome you look and yes, how happy they are for you. THEY AREN'T! Not all women are like this, but beware. THOSE TYPE OF WOMEN ARE! Sad to say but they can never be tan enough or slim enough or .....the list goes on and on. So sorry to say it but its true.

I chose happiness until I couldn't anymore
2btrim replied to Moro Rock's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you so much for sharing Moro Rock, your words are an inspiration to us all. I think we can all identify with choosing that so called "happiness" aka binge eating. Even those who had a pretty good childhood can identify with using food in an emotional way. As a child I was brought up with the notion that we Celebrate with food(birthdays etc.), reward with food(good grades etc.), comfort ourselves with food(skinned knee etc.)and even punish ourselves with food. That's right I said punish, how many times have any of us secretly sabotaged ourselves, because we felt like we didn't deserve any better. Congratulations, you figured it out and by choosing to take care of yourself even if that means WLS, proves just how smart you really are and strong as well. You are as we say here in the south, a true steel magnolia! -
voguue, I am not a woman of color unless you want to count the bazillion freckles I have. My complexion is light that 5 min in the sun and I look like a boiled crawfish LOL. However, I do not scar well at all, it is terrible! My scares are not exactly keloid but rather what they call hypertrophic. I have a long abdominal scar that is about 3/4 of an inch wide and still after twelve yrs. has never faded. I also have a scar under my arm from shoulder surgery that faded but is very puffy. I never used maderma, but from what I understand, it is suppose to help with even old scars. I may give it a try but I seriously doubt it will do a lot for this one on my stomach that as a friend of mine put it "looks like I was cut open with a chainsaw" Oh well I guess i cant have everything.

So many people here have skinny faces!
2btrim replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I guess I can't complain, my face is just naturally slimmer. However, by the time I get to my goal weight, people will be telling me I've lost too much. I am a pear, I carry my weight in my lower half. So by the time I reach my goal to be the size I want to be in pants, my face is going to look very gaunt. I've been thinking about how I will respond when people say I've lost too much, I think I'll just turn around, bend over and say " tell it to my ass"!
