    "Hair" Today, Gone Tomorrow...

Every thread I've seen on this seems to indicate that coloring doesn't have harmful effects so you should be okay.

    October 100 Mile Challange!

Question. Are you guys counting all that you walk in a day, or only things where you set out for a long exercising walk? Do I count all my fit it miles or inky ones where I set out to exercise?

    High Protein Crab Cakes

You know I need to start calculating and posting those. It's so tedious to do it one ingredient at a time in MFP that I've been lazy about it.

    October 100 Mile Challange!

Thank you! Unfortunately i have a bad flare up today. Not sure if it's the three 18+ hour days back to back, too much walking, too cold in Boston or what. but lots of pain today. Wrists, fingers, feet all whacked. Can't wait to get home and collapse tonight. No walking for me today. Oh well.

weight loss and exercise, not necessarily a partnership?

I suspect a little of what's going on there is that perhaps when you exercise, and don't increase your calories to "eat back" your exercise, you may be going into starvation mode, aka slowing your metabolism. I too have wondered about this and had to think hard which way I wanted to go. Of course, being the fat person I am, I decide to eat more I'm not burning that much through exercise. The difference is that in the old days, a 200 calorie burn would have been insignificant. Now, it's more than a fourth my daily intake! So I'm thinking every little bit matters. While it is true that muscle burns more than fat, the differences are minor, and are not the make or break for weight loss. Don't mean to ramble but my point is, it's entirely possible you aren't eating enough to exercise. I started a thread about increasing calories, good idea or bad idea? Gardengirl posted in it saying as soon as she started eating more and exercising a little bit less, her weight started coming off. And that was on doctor's orders. So i don't think your premise is entirely nutty I noticed you said you wanted to lift weights on another thread, but lifting on a liquid diet seems....iffy to me. Seems like you'd really struggle to get enough intake to keep yourself going healthily.

    "Hair" Today, Gone Tomorrow...

Not rambling. I can relate. I've stopped spending money on skin care products because no matter what they are, I dont keep up with the regimen. Total waste. I've always done my hair in about 3-4 mins, and my makeup in 7 mins. I'm sure I look like that's exactly what I spent too! I don't see that changing.

    Confused. Feel the same?

My husband and I had no issues. I'm 9 weeks post op and ice only once gotten too too full. Nothing bothers my sleeve. Or nothing that I've fed it anyway, which has been all protein. Really many of us felt almost nothing except a little tired.

    Full liquid ideas!

On my blog, www.sleevers.wordpress.com, I have some full liquid high protein soups. We were so sick of sweet protein shakes, that the savory soups were a welcome change. Might try one or two of those. Lobster bisque, shrimp bisque, tortilla soup, and chicken mushroom soup.

    Enabling addictions

There are people who go to AA but don't believe they are addicts. This may be the same thing. Accepting you had/have an addiction is not an easy thing. I think the vets are faster to acknowledge that than newbies. I know I will happily confess to being addicted to sugar, but I myself am not to the point where I feel like I was addicted to food in many ways. just sugar! Ask me again in 3 months.

    Enabling addictions

I've read your posts on this a lot and always appreciated them. I do think that while you believe in balance, you seem to also believe in making smart choices for the most part. As you said above and as you've said before, it's not like you're out there not eating your Protein or eating refined sugar, fries, chips and cake. But you have some once in a while and it's not the end of the world for you. I think there are some of us who may never be able to have "just a little" of certain things. I am very afraid that I will always be a sugar addict. I don't know what my new tummy will like, but I don't plan to test the sugar addiction anytime soon because I honestly was addicted to sugar before. I ate very healthy meals, lots of veggies, great portion control, but oh the sugar after meals! That's what made both my husband and me fat. So I think if you said, hey I had some cake yesterday and I'm eating chicken today, we'd all say Yay! cake! But if I say I had some cake and now I'm wanting a pie and a reese's Peanut Butter cup, maybe we shouldn't say Yay! cake!
