Cheaper but equally tasty alternative to Chike?
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Good luck today! I tried the chike 2 weeks after surgery and it was a big mistake. The caffeine really made my stomach hurt. Don't be in a hurry, give it 3-4 weeks before you try it. Let us know how you're doing after the surgery! -

I started work at 7:30 am and it's 7:30 pm and I just now got done working. No miles for me today.

how cool is that? Pretty soon you're going to be like those skinny Manhattanites in black rushing around town with their heels in their bags

I hesitate to even post this as a “recipe” but hey it made a nice snack for today and it took me about 4 minutes to get it together, so I figure it might help someone else too. Each serving is calculated at 2 oz. Pic and nutritional info at: http://sleevers.wordpress.com/2013/10/14/chicken-sausage-meatballs-high-protein/ 1. Go to the store and buy chicken sausages in a flavor of your choice. I chose hot italian sausage, and I got it at central market. You want one with fresh meat, not cured meat. 2. Cut open the casing and place the inside meat in little balls on a foil-lined cookie sheet 3. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes until the meat is cooked through and the outsides are brown.

questions for August ppl
gamergirl replied to rossy222@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hello near-twin!! I was 8/2, i've lost 35, I'm 47, my BMI was 37, slow metabolism, gone from18/20 to 16 (in xl or L still I think) in 10 weeks and I've stalled at least 3-4 weeks total and I too am happy. I tell you what, if you're not 30 years old, we're going to have a whole different trajectory of weight loss aren't we? -
I'm going to be working on a high-protein no-sugar, no crust recipe for pumpkin pie here shortly so wish me luck.

me too. It's raining here and I'm trying to come up with a good excuse to do a biz meeting over the phone rather than schlep down to the starbucks to meet with a very close friend to work on something very exciting. Coz then I don't have to get up, if I can just do it over the phone.

i only dream of losing that much. Sleeved 8/2, lost 35 lbs and grateful for that. but I agree with Bluto, that is 45 lbs more than you had lost before, and when was the last time you lost 45 lbs on your own in two months? you're doing fine. edited to correct timing -

Pumpkin Caramel Bake Soft foods, high protein
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in Soft (stage 3)
Pumpkin pie spice: 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon 1 Tbsp ground ginger 2 tsp ground nutmeg ½ tsp allspice ½ tsp ground cloves Mix together. I'd say it's more snack/dessert because it is a bit sweet but ever so lightly so. -
When did the slight uncomfortableness of eating subside for you?

You know why I want to go to the state fair today? Even though it looks like rain? It's because I want to log in some miles on my fitbit, and because I'm so dang antsy I can't sit still and it's driving my family crazy. Used to be, I went for the funnel cakes and the tornado taters. Oh how life has changed! Also because I can. Two years ago, I almost died due to a misdiagnosis, last year I was still getting enough strength back and I had awful knee pain. This year, I feel good about being able to walk around comfortably even though I did 7 miles on my bike this morning. So I'm doing it while I can and I will enjoy the heck out of it, because I have no idea what next year will bring. I just feel so happy that I had to share thanks for reading. Ways your new NSV this week? What made you happy?
-
I don't have any insight to share but I wanted to say congratulations! You're on your way to good health.

That actually worries me. You still feel the restriction though, right? -
anyone else have trouble with a bf being meab before surgery.

Not to generalize but...okay let's generalize I think it's not uncommon for men to deal with fear and uncertainty by needing to be alone or pushing people away, whereas it's more common for women to get more needy and clingy to deal with fear and uncertainty. He may be worried about you and that may be how he's dealing with it. -
It was our first time since being sleeved. Quite an eye opener about how much of the fair is around food, how much of the "food" is sugar or fried, and how many overweight people there were (including us of course). Next year, I will go but I will be skinny and fit by then I hope. I was hurting after miles today but next year, I hope I won't be. You'll have many additional years of state fairs ahead of you now that you're so much healthier.
