  1. From what I have read, we will all lose hair no matter what we do. Protein, Biotin, shampoo etc., it will still happen. Only a very few don't lose any. It seems to start at around 3-4 months after surgery and lasts for 3 months, and it always all grows back. I haven't started seriously shedding but I am losing more in the shower and in my hair brush. As you know, those of us with hypothyroid have this issue anyway. The only thing that works for my thyroid-related hairloss is to take evening primrose oil capsules. But for this loss, nothing is going to help. We should all eat our protein in any case, and that's the best we can do for the hairloss. So I'm hoping I will be relatively calm when the clumps start falling out I really can't afford to lose any more hair but I guess I'll have to live with it. A lot of people are finding Toppix and stuff like that quite helpful. Again, if you search the board for hair loss, you will find lots if very informative threads.

    Fitness and sleeping

I don't know if this is relevant for you but when that happens to me, it's my thyroid and the meds are over correcting and making me hypothyroid or over active thyroid. Could you have a thyroid problem? Random guess here but prominent in my mind since I had to get my dose reduced today for exactly this reason. Maybe worth looking ip other hypo symptoms to see if they fit.
  3. If you search the board for hypothyroidism you will see that many of us have it. In many cases, our doses are going down along with the weight loss. This topic comes up a lot, so definitely search the threads. Lots to learn.

    strange reaction to great news

I have lost a third of what you did, but I too worry it will be taken away. That one day I will wake up and no longer be able to lose anything at all, that in fact I may start to gain it again. I don't know what it will take for those of us who have struggled over and over to start to believe and trust. But I know it won't be easy. But hey! 100 lbs! Congratulations!!
  5. Good for you making those changes! I gave up sugar 4 weeks pre-op. The week after that, I substituted a shake for one meal daily. Then I did two weeks of proper pre-op. Felt like the worst of the withdrawals were over well before surgery. Hardest for me was caffeine! You're going to do great with the changes you've already made.
  6. Wow that's almost here! When you start your pre-op diet?
  7. Thank you guys! I will also mention that I have already had two 12-day each stalls. So I suppose by the forum's standards I could be a "slow" loser. I'm not really sure whether I am slow or not, but I've had mini stalls for almost a third of the time post-op--and I can still see a difference. So I guess we should stop worrying about the stalls, right?

    No thyroid -hypeptactive thyroid ?

I have an underactive thyroid. I'm 2.5. Months out and have lost 35 lbs. I have also had my dosage reduced twice already. The doc said thyroid meds are somewhat weight depends t so it's not uncommon for doses to go down with weight loss. We do lose a but slower as we get pcos, thyroid, Menopause, get older, etc., from what I have read. But it's still all a lot faster than without the sleeve!

    Lessons learned Post op

Thanks so much for taking time to detail all this. Very helpful.
  10. Congratulations! How is new mommyhood treating you?
  11. Oh and I should also mention, that huge upswing in the 7 day graph? Less than a pound. Yup. But until I realized that, it was enough to frustrate me.

    Hit my first stall...

One thing I will say I'm learning is that it may not work to set weight loss goals. We can set goals on what we will eat, drink or do for exercise, but we don't control how fast the weight chooses or come off or not. I'm at 2.5 months but have had two 12-day EACH stalls already. There's not much we can do except keep the faith and control what we can--which is our behavior. So don't get de-motivated, focus on keeping to the plan, and hang in there.

    Dating post-op..does it get easier?

Did someone say overthinking?? Welcome to my life!
  14. Yes, yes I do. In fact I woke up thinking EXACTLY that this morning. I'm obsessing. I'm worrying. I'm too focused on this and for a few days, I just want to BE. I want to do what feels right, I want to not track every morsel that goes into my mouth, for just a few days, I just want to be my old self. I am going to cancun with my husband on Saturday. I have a hellacious week to get through before then, but I need to chill out and start looking forward to the vacation, and I need normalcy back in my life. This obsessing--part of it is just me. I'm goal-oriented and I get to things via hyper-focusing and working hard to get there. that's fine, that's healthy, that works whatever. The part that is NOT healthy? In this case, it's driven by fear. It's driven by fear that I will fail at this, and that's what's keeping me focused. I need a re-set for a while so I can calm down. Oddly, seeing the trends made me calm down. I do this for a living--look at data to find patterns. I looked at my data, I found a pattern, and I see i'm worried for nothing, so time to work on letting go a little.
