    First small victory

That is fantastic! I too worry that it's all too good to be true and that it won't work for me even if I do everything rights which I know is silly but when we've failed as often as we all have, it's hard to have faith isn't it? You're doing great. Congrats!

Really?? I wish it'd known this before I gave away boxes and boxes of this stuff before surgery. I used to LOVE them.

    Inflammation - Blood Test

Elevated CRPs are associated with increased of heart attacks. So they're not good obviously. But I also have read a lot of stuff that suggests that if your body is inflamed, it is almost impossible to lose weight. First you have to calm the inflammation, and only then can you start to lose weight. Your sleeve will do wonders for your body I suspect.

    Crunch Snacks?

Dried edamame and freeze dried crunchamame. Both are surprisingly high protein and tasty.

    2nd stall

I was sleeved August 2nd. First and second stall lasted 12 days each. At the second I lost weight for two days--and now I'm stalled again for the third Time. Sigh. What can you do, besides keep on keeping on, right?
  10. Shameless bump for this thread. I love seeing pet pics!

    i'm now my dogs bff

Well in our case, her additional intake is being balanced by increased exercise. She absolutely INSISTS on taking my husband for a two mile walk daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, for a mile each time. She will not leave him alone until he does that. No matter what, how tired he is, whatever. She sits there and talks to him, and jumps up and down like a baby lamb, until he finally goes with her. It's good for both of them.

    Doc was pleasantly surprised!

Rj it's in the research and statistics section. My experience wasn't as heart breaking as yours but I am seriously thinking of having a conversation with my rheumatologist. He was very excited about my weight loss. But when I asked him f he ever recommended it to patients, he said he didn't because most patients he saw regained it and he thought WLS doesn't work in the long run. For once, I was dumbstruck. But now, I want to educate him. I want him to know that 95% of those who lose weight on their own will out it back on and more. In contrast only about half of WLS patients put back about 10-20% or thereabouts of the weight they lost. I want him to know that saying something like that to someone who is newly sleeved, is not NICE. And that he is letting his back of education about WLS preventing him from helping his older, less mobile, overweight, arthritic patients. I just haven't figured out exactly how to say it all without making him feel attacked. Sigh.

    Does shoe size change?

The only shoes I have that fit me now are ones that were too tight or narrow before! What I want to know is, when does shoe size settle down? Because I really don't want to be buying shoes in many different sizes. Can any one share based on their experience?

    Inflammation - Blood Test

I have had elevated CRPs which are also indicative of inflammation. In my case, I have an inflammatory disease so it won't go away. But if yours is not because I'd that, the tried and true ways to reduce inflammation are: 1. Reduce simple carbs and grains from diet 2. Consume more fish and fish oil 3. Increase fruits and vegetables 4. Exercise 5. Lose weight Apart from (3), all the other things should happen with being sleeved. The weight loss alone will help in that regard.
