You're over your goal! Way to go!
-
-
Oh that looks so good and warming as I freeze my toes off on my trip! What did you put in it?
-
Okay so I know what my goals are for November. Thanks puresouthernnsoul for helping me crystallize this I have 3 goals for this month that might sound wishy washy, but I have to respect my RA and not kill myself trying to be superwoman so bear with me 1. Walk/bike combo of 60 miles 2. Thirty day plank challenge with puresouthernnsoul 3. Re-try c25k and agree to stop if it causes flare ups again.

this may start a riot.
gamergirl replied to cindymaried's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cindy I think there was nothing wrong with what your doctor said and sharing that. I actually appreciated that. I think honestly? Where you got some people feeling badly? was by saying you used to come to the forum a lot but now you don't because of all the misinformation. For those of us who spend time here trying to help others, that was a little slap in the face. You may not have meant it that way of course, but I suspect many of us interpreted it that way. But it's all good and I too hope you don't stop posting -

Dizziness.....
gamergirl replied to NeuroSurgNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Both my husband and I had that happen a lot initially. We couldn't even stand up out of our chairs without getting dizzy. And then it stopped, I'd say around the 6 week mark. I really thnk it's the very low calories initially and until our bodies get used to it, they want to pass out from time to time -
Cheaper but equally tasty alternative to Chike?
gamergirl posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
So we're clearly addicted to Chike coffee Protein at our house and my husband and I start the morning with one. The only problem is, it's expensive compared to other protein powders, and I was wondering if anyone had found an equally good alternative that's regularly priced (e.g., $50 for 5 lb jar rather than Chike's 35 for one pound). I tried Click Mocha and didn't like it as much but wondering about some of the others for taste? -
Why don't you wait for a couple of days and try again? Things change quickly during the first few days and you may be able to better tolerate it in a few more days. If that doesn't work, I'd ask the doctor to suggest a different brand. I almost gagged and threw up with a cinnamon flavored Calcium chewable, but do just fine with a caramel flavored chewable. Makes little sense sometimes

You may need to do chewables for a while if the pills bother you. Flintstones chewables seem to be popular on the site. I use vitafusion gummies because they taste so dang good!

Sleeved on 10-23..hunger or...?
gamergirl replied to meaganchuckran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yah. Like on so little you'll then be worrying about "will I ever be able to eat more than a bird?" liquids don't make us feel full. The purées and solids go thunk. -
I didn't try then because the reviews are so bad. People on amazon as well as here said they tasted horrid. But you might find one you like. I didn't try these either but more people here said they could tolerate Isopure Clear liquids with Protein than the shots. Also though there's some evidence to suggest our bodies only absorb 35 gms of protein at a time so hey may also be overkill.

Possible Stricture ahhh!
gamergirl replied to Timeforchange20's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So GERD is basically a different acronym for extreme acid reflux. A lot of people with VSG get bad GERD for a while and then it goes away for some, while others keep taking PPIs such as Prilosec, zegrid, omaprozole etc. From GERD to by-pass seems to be a long journey, not a given. I suspect they will try you with different antacids etc for a while. Search this board for GERD I know I've seen some posts. There's one in the vets forum for sure. -
Do anyone snack sometimes
gamergirl replied to liltoy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it depends on the snack. I can't get my Protein and calories in three meals so I have 3 meals and two Snacks. But really my snacks are the same food as my meals sometimes. meat, cheese, Greek yogurt, etc. Not chips, Cookies and crackers. So as long as your snack sticks to your guidelines, it should be okay. -

5 1/2 weeks, what the heck !?!?
gamergirl replied to Band07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you eating protein first? Are you drinking your water? Ate you staying away from junk food? Are you staying below the calories your doctor told you to? If your answer to all these is ye, then it's too early to worry. I find that I "cycle" between low and high calorie days. And 1 lb of weight is only 2 extra glasses of water so don't worry about that either. -
No if you're lactose intolerant it hits within minutes.
-
Why don't you try lactaid pills? I've been taking them for years and the really help.

gamergirl replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do try to wait until you leave the hospital but after that.... Actually they say 1 week unless your usual routine invokes whips, chains, and chandeliers. -
I would approach with caution early on. I had so so much trouble with just one wonton wrapper at 2.5 months. You're very early to try these maybe. But they do look delicious and like something I would have loved pre-sleeve

We were told no corn because it's extremely difficult to digest, as AtlantaRed said. It's not just not a good idea, we were told it was dangerous.
