  1. My husband, btw, has gone from a 2xl shirt to a medium, and has lost close to 70 lbs in the last 4 months. We are both adjusting to it mentally. It's a huge change.
  2. Where are everyone else's dressed up pics?? Share!
  3. Oh it was a disaster food-wise Perfect company but I decided to try some bread, and two bites of bread and 1 bite of sausage later, I was quite sure I was going to hurl at the table. At that point, I realized I was done eating. I posted a pic of my before and after plate in the What are your plans for t'giving thread. It's a bit of a joke, like a little mouse nibbled on it! My advice? Don't try something for the first time that you haven't had before otherwise you too, could be done in 3 bites.
  4. Yes I did invite! So glad you posted. But you know, we need one pic in every one of the 15 ties you bought yourself. I don't think anyone cares what ELSE you choose to wear, as long as you wear the ties

  6. Okay let me tell you what NOT to do for your thanksgiving dinner. Don't try anything you haven't tried before. I ran off all excited to have a bit of sausage, some bread, a little pineapple and flan. Right, good plan. The bread went thunk. I thought I would barf. I was done after three bites Here are my before and after plates. It's a travesty, I tell you.

    What Is Skinny Anyways?

I just realized auto correct made that post party stretch marks instead of postpartum. That must have been some party.

How Much Help Did You Need?

My husband and I got sleeved together and I worried about taking care of each other. Turned out to not be an issue at all. We stayed in the hospital the day of, and the day after surgery when we needed the most help. After that, it was a non -issue. You need to be moving around to get things for yourself anyway. I think you can take care of yourself just fine. But if you have pets, children etc., it might be handy to have occasional help with them.

    What Is Skinny Anyways?

Yes I get that I won't look 25 years old. Hence my additions about add jiggly belly, post party stretch marks, of no photoshopping, etc.

    Hungry Every Two Hours

Cubs when I look at your MFP though, your net calorie intake (after subtracting exercise calories burned) is under 850 though yes? So I'd ask the doc about that too since you do exercise a lot for someone as soon out of surgery as you are. Also men...don't get me started about what they can eat and still lose
  12. If have a little and not worry about it then. And be sure to enjoy the heck out of it

    What Is Skinny Anyways?

Hah! I'd be clamoring for entrance to the nudist colony at 20%! So I'm at 34% and if you add belly jiggle and stretch marks instead of smooth, photoshopped skin. I'd say I do look like the 35% chick. And while I still have lots of weight to lose, I look okay in jeans and a t-shirt, not great. If you are at 30%, maybe you look better than you realize? I mean, we've had kids and breastfed and shite, we're not going to have flat stomachs like that, but look at the rest of her and add wrinkles and stretch marks and maybe that is you? Ask your husband. Mine is much better at judging than I am. And btw, I too cannot resist asking people how much they weight and what size they are. I'm so rude these days! Thankfully my friends are kind about it. I don't know how else to learn though. And I have started the game every man dreads "is my ass bigger than hers." "How much longer until I look like her?" Really it's not competition, it's to learn what I truly look like. Because what I look like changes every week and my brain can't keep up with it.

Here are some pictures that have helped me determine what I want to look like. And one for the men too.

    What Is Skinny Anyways?

So I'm nowhere near there yet but I don't want to be skinny. I want to be healthy and attractive and I don't find skinny attractive. I'm sure this will change over time, but for now, my goals are: 1. Achieve 25% body fat which is healthy for women, and still shows curves 2. Reach between size 8-10 because then I can shop anywhere, including designer wear. 3. Be able to sustain my final weight by eating 1200-1400 calories and not have to fight to maintain my weight daily. To achieve the first, my goal weight would have to be 162, which is much much higher than the goal I set for myself (between 140-150) and is not "normal" BMI but I don't care. To achieve the second, I need to lose 2-3 inches everywhere. I'm afraid that I will get there and then start wanting to be even smaller, so i keep repeating these to myself. But I won't know until I'm there I guess.
  16. Bumping this thread. Would love to learn from others' experiences too.
  17. I stall a LOT. I think I stall for half the time, and the other half of the time, I lose little bits. During my first 90 days, I spent 39 of those in sold stalls. Despite that, I've gone from a size 18/20 in jeans to 12/14 and from a 2x to a L in tops in 4 months. So I guess it's going to come off, just not according to my preferred pace. The first two times I freaked even though I understood what was happening. Now I'm like, meh. Whatever. I mean, what would I change anyway? I'm already doing what I should.

Omg I love Wheel of time! One of my employees is very active in the forum/gathering of WoT events, organizes their conferences, has set up a charity for it, etc. She got us into it. My husband has read them all, I've read about 7 of them. Game of thrones, I have to tell you, I read the first one and started the second. Then I realized that I pretty much didn't give a crap if any of those characters lived or died so I decided it was time to read something else it just didn't appeal and frankly I didn't find them well written. Before I got addicted to this forum, I used to read for 3-4 hours a day, so I'd end up reading 2-3 books a week. Right now, I'm reading Allegiant, Amy Tan's new book, and good calories, bad calories. But I spend too much time in here

    Hungry Every Two Hours

Perfect. Are you eating enough calories in a day?

    Hungry Every Two Hours

So that early our constant hunger is a sign of acidity. You should really be diligent about taking your PPI, if you aren't already. Many many people complain of "hunger", but then take the PPI and find it gone. It's worth a try because if you are eating solid protein and can get in 2 oz, it may not be hunger As long as you are staying under your docs caloric requirements though, at first you may have to eat more often if you can't hold much at a time. So take your PPI and document your intake and somewhere in there, you will find fhe sweet spot.

Thanks so much for the reccos. It's time to get him into another series so very helpful. Although Alex didn't like it, my older one loved Artemis fowl and we all loved the entire Ender series. Those are very well conceived we well, by Olson Scott card. Separately I've actually enjoyed card's women of the bible series, and I'm not traditionally religious.
