  1. wow that sounds fast even by sleeve standards! Good for you! So you're almost to your final size now though, right? Have you started the Beeg Beeg Shopping yet? I have to try on clothes that were too tight once a week, usually on the weekends. It's no point saying "oh this doesn't fit" because fact is, just because it didn't fit last week doesn't mean it doesn't fit this week. And to add to the confusion, it only fits for a few weeks so you have to be careful you're not out of your "fit window". I have three client visits in the next two weeks. One is in Key West, the other two are in Rhode Island. So not only do I need clothes that fit, they have to be warm weather and cold weather and the cold weather ones have to fit for two weeks. It's enough to drive a sane woman crazy and I wasn't that sane to start with.
  2. Ha Ha Ha Ha! Done them both!!! More than once...Atkins, McDougal, too! Oh and right before Paleo was juicing. So there went all that fruit too! So the good news you should know however, is that although none of those diets worked, the sleeve is working. Eleven more days to the start of a new you! Congrats

    Is It Just Me?

I'm 3.5 months out and there are days it's still a chore. I understand that goes away so I'm enjoying it for now since I'm still trying to lose weight. But I end every day realizing I'm short of calories and then have to down a protein shake and another snack in the evening. Can you imagine eating only 700 calories and having calories left over? It's so weird. There are foods I enjoy, and they are the proteins that sit easy in my sleeve. But ask me to eat chicken? I'm filled with dread already!
  4. That sounds like a good idea! Also if you start today, you'll be over the worst before you go back go work on Monday. Good luck
  5. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one! I think the the most wasteful transition was from Paleo to vegetarian. Can you imagine?
  6. Like LL and Arts, I too started getting ready early. I actually cut out all sugar 3 weeks before pre-op. Two weeks before, I cut calories back down to 1200, and then started substituting one shake for a meal one week before pre-op. Despite that, the first 4 days of pre-op were hell. I was tired, cranky and generally run down. I think the more you eat now, not only will you have more to lose later, but the withdrawal during the pre-op will be tougher. Why don't you pick one thing to give up this week, perhaps the Mcdonalds and substitute with a meat and veg meal so you can start getting ready? Also realize you won't miss food at first and won't be as hungry as you are now so you won't feel about McDonalds as you do today.
  7. Yay! Almost there. Sounds like you'll likely be here before the year ends or even sooner.
  8. I've gone from an 18/20 to 14 in most things and 12 in jeans in a about 4 months. I still wonder if I will ever make it to a 12 or a 10. I don't have the faith I should in this whole process. Compared to my previous attempts at dieting, this seems so effortless, that I'm worried it will just stop of it's own accord well before I'm ready. Based on my past, this seems like it should be much harder to be losing so much weight! Sounds like all your shopping is going to have to be last minute Misty. Are consignment shops big in Australia? My husband has been buying me expensive clothes at a fraction of their price from online auctions. I don't have the patience that takes.
  9. My kinda girl! Yeah I noticed her Army cap. Good for her.

Nearly 2 Wks Post Op ...

Glad to hear you're doing so well! The lactose intolerance thing is tricky. I think over time, as you establish better colonies of bacteria in your gut, there's a chance you could get over it. I was already lactose intolerant even before the sleeve so I'm not the best person to answer this since I assume I will always have it, but even for me, it appears to be lessening back to pre-sleeve levels slowly. Also pre and post op, we're consuming a LOT of lactose in all those shakes. I now do 2 shakes a day and it's much more tolerable. Keep up the liquids and rest as much as you can. And congratulations
  11. My turkey day pics would be me in two diff sets of pajamas Today was lazy day. I cooked a bit but really just hung out. Highlight of my day was realizing how great coconut oil feels on your skin after a shower. Not only does she look like you a LOT, your body shapes are very similar too. They're so sweet Laura. Love their smiles.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

What a huge difference! I know you work hard for it too with all your exercising so you should be very proud of yourself.
  13. That's such a cute plate! Doesn't it look like someone just served a little toddler? thank god for the sleeve right?
  14. Omg thanks for sharing the 52 tshirts bit. Makes me feel a little less alone with my too-many clothes.
  15. You and Ms Antiband sound like you both have daughters that take good care of you. I find that's very sweet. I don't have a daughter and although my boys love me, they would have no idea what to do about clothes! Fortunately for me, my husband does ha ha!

    I'm A Slow Loser

Hi there! I wonder if you saw this post where I listed why some of us lose "slower" but are actually ahead of the game? http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/287666-you-may-be-more-successful-than-you-think/page-11#entry3250912
  23. y'all are so cute! Look at your collarbones woman!
  24. Me too and I am just as happy!!! Me three, but I'm not sure I'm as happy. I basically ate 1/2 of a sugar-free, crust-free pumpkin pie filling that I made with Protein powder, and 1/2 of a cornish game hen chicken breast. Although I waited between the two things, that was all I was able to eat. I guess these are the days we should be happy we can't "cheat" on our "diets".
  25. 13 days is not very long! Did you have to start a liquid diet? Yes I think you're right, it happens when the time is right. I'm not sure I was emotionally and mentally ready for it all those years ago. This time, I most definitely was.
