Please don't be offended but it almost sounds like you're looking for someone to tell you it's okay to cheat. That they did it and had no ill effects. Really, it's not okay to cheat. Even if someone got away with it, it's no guarantee that you will. It's serious surgery. Don't take a chance. If you cheated, don't do it again. If it's really close to your surgery, call your doctor and let them know. Not everyone has complications. Not everyone who has complications did something wrong. But you increase the chances of complications when you cheat, either pre-op or post op. It's not worth losing your life over. Hang tough.

My Lunch: A Pictorial Attempt To Show You Life Will Be Normal
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What you should hope, is that Mr. Gamergirl gets tired of ME and wants to come over. He's a much better cook He wants to know if maybe you're in Hawaii or something... -
Wow what a story! I can imagine what an adjustment it must have been for you. My younger son is adopted but he's always known that. If I suddenly found out I was adopted now, that would be a shock all right. I'm so glad you've made it work so well for you. That can't have been easy and you should feel proud of yourself for it. ((Hugs))

My Lunch: A Pictorial Attempt To Show You Life Will Be Normal
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is cucumber, tomato, crushed peanuts with geek yogurt and a few other spices. I'll post the recipe on the blog tonight. The beef curry one and palak paneer are already posted I think. -
My Lunch: A Pictorial Attempt To Show You Life Will Be Normal

That looks delicious! Do you have trouble eating the meat dry? I'm hoping that gets better with time because I still struggle with that a bit. -
What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sounds like fun! I love the hotel robe NSV too. I keep checking my wedding ring to see if it's still safe. I had wedding bangles from my dad and my husband (I don't care for diamonds so my husband bought me the bangles instead). One swift push and they would have been off my wrists. I couldn't risk them and they are now put away. My arm feels naked. -

Gotta Love A Good Side By Side! (Pics)
gamergirl replied to Mrs.RRn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow! What a difference! I love how our faces change and our bone structure becomes more apparent. You're looking great. -
Go to the research section and m2j posted an article on the biggest loser. It's very discouraging because 85-90% of them put all their weight back on, and now they've slowed down their metabolism drastically. So not even the biggest losers can do it.

What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ah I'm sorry to hear that. It's tough when doing the right thing for us makes other people sad. I wonder if it would help in the future to have one taste and then rave about it like mad so she Doest realize how little of it you ate? Of course, don't do that if it triggers you to eat more junk. -

Awwww look at that sweet face! How do you not kiss it all the time? -
I thought the way you set it up this time worked great. I've no changes to recommend.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Very helpful to know what lies ahead

How will you keep from losing weight while doing it? Just eat more on feast and fast days?
-
Congratulations! How wonderful for you. I have a question. Will you continue to do 5:2 or will you move to a maintenance diet now?
-
That's actually a excellent idea! Why not have wedding photos you'll enjoy looking at?

Best and worst "compliments"

I would have accidentally-on-purpose stuck her in the face with her own nail file -
Wow! That is an amazing transformation. You don't even look like the same person! A lot of times people look like younger versions of themselves. You look like a younger version of....well, someone else . I bet people who hadn't seen you in a while didn't even recognize you. Congratulations on getting to and staying at goal.

I'm Overweight! Let's Celebrate!
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That shouldn't take very long should it? Unless of course the cursed stall hits. My next goal is to hit 175 because the last time I remember being there was 19 years ago. Ugh. So looking forward to that. I'm either 5-6 lbs away depending on what my too-honest, cheating, no-good, scale tells me. -
If you could look like her though? What's a boob or two amongst friends?

Are You Having Someone Stay With You In The Hospital?
gamergirl replied to Mel1071's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband and I were sleeved the same day but if it had just been me, I think if have liked to have him there. I didn't need help, but I kinda like having him around. He makes me happy, loved, and cared for, and that's always good when you don't feel great. So do it for the company if you want, not for the help is my point. -

What's working a little better for me is chicken in the crockpot or the pressure cooker. It's SO easy to make in the crockpot. If you are also feeding a family, it's good for everyone. I take an onion and slice it, and put it in the bottom of the crockpot. Then I place a whole chicken or some dark meat like thighs with bones and cook it for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. No Water added! It's so much more moist and edible, like a rotisserie chicken, except better. I use it for all kinds of things through the week. the other thing that works for me is to take that chicken and put it into a kitchenaid bowl and shred it like restaurants do. It comes out really fine, and if you mix that with a little mayo, it's finely shredded chicken salad and that goes down a lot easier. I can't do beef in chunks but ground beef or ground chicken works very well. A little experimenting and creativity in the kitchen helps a lot. I have all these recipes and more on my blog, and if you are tired of shakes, try the "full liquids" high protein Soups. Nice change.
