Yes down south, where little kids get "slapped upside the head" for neglecting to say ma'am. She's right, I have found myself saying yes ma'am to women much younger than me.

I'm at 3 months and 700 calories too. Hmmm maybe time to write to my doctor and ask

It's going to be TOM for me too and I'm feeling the hunger creep up slowly. Can you increase fat and protein more? Did they say why you need to increase calories at this point?
-
For me that depends on what it is. Soft, ground up things like ground beef, refried beans, shrimp, fish, lobster, I can eat 3 ounces. Same with yogurt and cottage cheese where I can do 4-5 oz. But chicken, pork, beef stew meat etc? Lucky if I can get in 2 ounces.

A Bit Excited And A Bit Depressed.
gamergirl replied to ejsfanatic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well you might not want skinny jeans, but the fact is, you still went from a size 24 to an 18!! That's fantastic and very fast. So celebrate that, in whatever style of jeans you want--as long as they are an 18 -
How Mobile Will I Be?
gamergirl replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Right days post op I would totally have gone for the play. Have that be one of your only big activities for the day but you should be fine for a few hours. We drove an hour each way and then sat through a 2 hour lunch with a local support group about 7 days after surgery. We needed to rest after that, but it was a nice interlude. -
More like, I've been married so long I know I'm not getting any anywhere else so why care?

Me too! That book is the reason I keep wanting to try another one if his. Is the stand the epidemic thing one?

So two possibilities suggest themselves but I'm not a doctor so.... One is nerve pain, the other is gas. Ten days out seems too late for gas pain. But it's worth trying some gas-x and a heating pad tonight. And then do pls call the doctor tomorrow. You should be healing these days and it's hard with pain, isn't it?

Perspective On Portions
gamergirl replied to Kattastic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are definitely days when I feel I've eaten a lot, and then I log it and discover I'm still low on calories. Unfortunately the other way around has also been true. Although I'm getting better at it, I still need to weigh or measure my food. I feel out of control when I can't do that. I also feel out of control if I eat 5-6 things at a meal. It "seems" like a lot even though it might only be a few tbsp of each. I'm hoping this gets easier for us with time. -

What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sounds like a lot of cooking. I'm struggling with quantities in my every day cooking we eat so much less than we used to, that most of my appliances like crockpots, pressure cookers etc are too big for two sleevers. I ended up buying smaller versions so I didn't over cook. It takes some adjusting all right. -
What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
gamergirl posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wondering how everyone intends to deal with the Thanksgiving feast? Are you going to be selective or just eat a little of everything? (assuming you are far enough post-op that it's safe to do so). Or limit yourself to certain things? We usually go to a Brazilian churrascaria where my carnivore son and husband are in ecstasy, and my vegetarian-wannabe son and I are happy with the salads and sweets. It's always been a good deal for the restaurant when we walk in, because my sons and I never could hold too much, although my husband definitely could. But this year, I know I have to be discriminating because I can't eat "a little of everything" there. So I had to think about what I REALLY like, and of the plethora of things, I like a spicy sausage they have, their grilled pineapple, their cheese rolls (pao de quejo), and their to-die-for flan. Four things. Of course, I used to eat a lot more than four things, but this year, I think I will focus on those four things and have a bit of each and call it a wonderful feast. And it will be a feast food-wise because all of those are things I don't allow myself on my regular days (carbs, sweets, fruit). What's your plan? -

I'm amazed you had the energy to cook all that so soon after surgery! I was exhausted while on full liquids. How many people were you cooking for on Friday? I bet they were happy. Yes I too felt better when I cooked for my kids. It was as though at least that part of our lives hadn't changed. -
Oh look how casually she throws out " and I'm running 2.5 miles". Woo hoo! That's fantastic!

Probiotics For Constipation?
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All right! I'm trying everything you guys recommended hahaha! I've had half an avocado, the magnesium last night, a probiotic this morning, lots of coffee, and there will be some miralax within the next 24 hours if needed. Of course if it works, then I'm doomed because I'll have NO idea what made it work. This is how superstitions are born. I'll have to do all of these things in the exact same order again. Oops. And me trained as a scientist. Shame on me Thank you all so much for the suggestions. -

My Lunch: A Pictorial Attempt To Show You Life Will Be Normal
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here's my "I'm too lazy to cook tonight" dinner. Half an avocado with salt and pepper, and 2 oz cilantro lime shrimp from Costco. So full and quite yummy.
