30-Day Plank Challenge: Who Is In For This One?

50's today, down from my usual 90 seconds. I slacked off for a few days and look what happens. But hey! I'll take 50!
5. That's weird that she said that. What dies she think milk of magnesia is??

I take Philips magnesium caplets and take two at night. I buy a 3 pack from amazon, but you can get them in target etc too. And that's 1000 mg. they do work for both my husband and me. Sometimes it takes 48 hours.
6. Oh honey what did I not try? Probiotics. Magnesium, half an avocado, Fiber gummies, and lots of coffee. But I suspect what worked was the probiotics and the magnesium which took 48 hours to work.
7. Well as I expected, "something" worked but since I all but threw the kitchen sink at myseld, I'm now clueless as to what worked. I hit the road tomorrow so will try just the probiotics and see if they do anything for me.

Minimize The Jiggle

So I find flexees and spanx to be the best and flexees are cheaper. Kohls usually has them on sale and they work beautifully! One of the vets told us how to put them on and off. Do NOT try to put them on like a blouse, like over your head. Instead, step into them and pull them up over your body. When it's time to take them off, pull them down your body. It really works! There's a really funny thread in the powder room that puresouthernnsoul started entitled "adventures in shapers" or something like they. Funny and informative.

30-Day Plank Challenge: Who Is In For This One?

hmmm I'm not sure I would have made it very far at 6 weeks. I do know that people, are cleared to lift weights at 6 weeks to technically it should be okay. You could try it and if you feel discomfort or pain, stop immediately?

8 Habits Of Successful Losers

I thought the article was very good. I was head nodding with all the behaviors, and then they got to the last one about a belief--and I must say I hadn't stopped to consider that one.
13. I hope everything goes really well for you tomorrow. Do post when you're done and let folks here know how you're doing.

Best Hot Cocoa Protein Drink

are you still liking the peanut butter cookie protein shake too? It's my new favorite. How can something taste like nutter butter cookies and be good for you??

Best Hot Cocoa Protein Drink

It's a coffee flavored Protein shake with two shots of espresso in it. So of course, we promptly make and put one more shot in it, coz you know, can't have enough espresso! We make ours cold but a lot of people have it hot. I've tried other, cheaper alternatives and they haven't been as tasty. It's still less expensive and a lot healthier than Starbucks though.

30-Day Plank Challenge: Who Is In For This One?

All kids are the same. Mine said the same thing and he too collapsed in 10 seconds. We too laughed so hard that I fell down and I had to start all over again. It is not as easy as it looks is it?
17. Seela, so sorry to hear that. Being without meds for depression sucks. I don't have any other advice than what others offered about generics, which while they may not be perfect will at least do something more than nothing. But I just wanted to say I was thinking of you and hoping things got better. ((hugs))
18. not a vet but MFP lies like a dog. I'd be wasting away to nothing if it was correct! I do know that there's a lot of research to suggest that those of us who have dieted and lost weight have a slower metabolism than those who have never had to lose weight, sometimes up to 40% lower. Me, I'd raise 100 calories a week and see where you start to gain weight, and work out your maintenance level that way, by looking at net calories.
19. I said that because some days I have felt like my problems with food are not the "norm" around here. I guess I needed to step back and see the big picture here. Not everyone here has "food issues" As a matter of fact a lot of people here just plain old said to me "nope, I just ate big portions, and or bad food that's all" No underlying issues (as I assumed wrongly) We are all different people, different weights, different reasons for this surgery... For every person that is like me there are twenty that are not.. I guess I said "fucked" because I was jealous of the ones that just had bad nutrition.. I cannot claim that particular ignorance. Oh well, so much for the neat boxes.. You've heard the politically correct term "differently abled" yes? I think we're all "differently fucked up" We've been on this struggle to lose weight for a while. Some of us have done some level of work and "healing" on one issue and may be "ahead" while also being"behind" on another issue. Maybe some of us had the nutrition part worked out but needed to work on the emotional part, maybe vice versa. So who knows? Like I said...differently messed up but still messed up
20. "nope, I just ate big portions, and or bad food that's all" yeah, well, dont believe everything you read. if that was all, then having major surgery wouldnt have been needed. i assume almost everyone here is either an emotional eater or a full blown food addict. people who arent dont need this kind of help. dont compare your insides to anyone else's outside, you dont know whats going on inside anyone else, except for the clues in their behavior. Actually I don't assume that. I assume we all got fat different ways. Many of us do have underlying issues, both physical and emotional that led us to where we are, but I don't assume it's all emotional addiction or full blown food addict. Talk to the PCOS crowd, the yo yo dieters crowd, the hypothyroid crowd and see how easily we put on weight by eating 1200 calories of the wrong food. On a forum, it's very hard to tell if people are in denial, lying to save themselves a little pride or privacy, or simply ignorant/lack self-awareness. I feel like the way we can support each other is to take what others say at face value. If their statements start to contradict each other, it's okay to gently point that out and often that does happen. We do contradict ourselves and people pointing that out helps. But going into a discussion with a mindset that the other person "must be" something...must be an addict, must be an emotional eater, must be in denial.... how is that different from when others look at us and assume that all fat people.....must be lazy, must lack will-power, must be out of control, must lack hygiene, or must be weak? I think--and I'm not directing this at your moonlite but speaking theoretically--but I think assuming we know others better than they know themselves is a dangerous trap to fall into. I would also like to think that this is a safe place. That people take me at face value here. That I don't constantly have to demonstrate my honesty and self-awareness on this forum. That if say something, I've given it some thought unless I'm clearly asking for advice or help. And that I'm not in denial. I may well be ignorant or lack self-awareness, I may well need help, but I may well not be exactly like you, whoever you are. Isn't that what empathy is about? putting yourself in someone ELSE's shoes and seeing things from their perspective? It's not just assuming your perspective is relevant. So...no I don't assume we are all food addicts or emotional eaters. I assume that we are all overweight and have chosen surgery as our best way forward. That's all that I think is safe to assume. For everything else, I have to listen with my ears, eyes and an open heart to another person before I know or can assume. Thanks for reading this far...if indeed you made it this far Again not directed at an individual, just sharing a thought perspective.
21. As of today, I'm "only" overweight not obese per the BMI chart! Time to celebrate! Only you guys could understand my happiness at being overweight How many pounds for you before you hit the next milestone for you? What's your next goal?

August sleevers progress

Okay so I heard back from the doctor's coordinator about adding calories, and this is what she said: "At this point in time, I would perhaps bump up your calories by 200 or so, this will keep the weight loss going as the body does tend to feel like you are starving it and it won't let go of the weight and you do need the calories to fuel your body... your protein intake and carb levels are good. You may see a difference in how you feel and the weight loss by adding in those few more calories." So I guess I have to bump up to 900 calories too, and today is 4 months out. The simplest way would be to add a bar or a third shake but that doesn't seem right. Sophiepants, I see your dilemma

August sleevers progress

Hey GG! I am SO happy about the weight loss absolutely! I just want to try and nip some of these "food demons" in the bud. I'm lucky in that I can drop weight pretty quickly, but I am very susceptible to self sabotage and can undo 2 weeks worth of work in one weekend. Exhibit A: this weekend. I got on the scale this morning after a fun filled 4 days of food and booze. I am up 4 pounds since Thursday. Now, I usually only weigh weekly but I wanted to try and scare myself. It worked. Historically this has been my MO and trying to break this cycle is ultimately by goal from this whole journey. that makes a ton of sense. good for you for finding a way to deal with a recurring bad habit from the past.
24. That's fantastic! you're making very quick progress right now, aren't you? I'm sure it's a great feeling. You look fabulous btw

8 Habits Of Successful Losers

12 was interesting for me. I never thought of resisting treats a either building or strengthening a habit. That makes each refusal count for more in my mind. It's not just that I refused a piece of cake, it's that I continue to build my ability to resist it. That's a good way to look at it. Because of course what my fat brain says is, 'You could be hit by a truck tomorrow, so what good does it do you to turn down a piece of cake today?"
