    OMG

I work for myself and run a small agency so I didn't have the luxury of taking time off like I wanted to. Three days post-op the phone was ringing. Really I can do one-two meetings a day but more than that tires me. I'm supposed to go back full-time next week and although it's a desk job, it's also a lot of thinking, talking to clients, writing presentations, deciding how they should spend their money, and I am hoping like mad I will have a clear head by Monday which will be 10 days. I wish I could take 2 weeks off.
  2. I just posted a day by day in the post op forum. You'd be amazed how much each additional day helps you feel better. I couldn't believe the change from one day to the next. Hang in there and yes, def ask for anti-nausea meds. They do help.
  3. wow what a difference in just five weeks! very inspiring. I'm one week out so it's great to see progress down the road.
  4. Amy you should write your experiences in some detail. Yours were very different to mine, and i think it would be so helpful for people to see the range of what's possible. I wish I could give you hugs and take care of you

    Bathing Suit!

pictures please? It's always inspiring to see those. Congratulations on your loss!
  6. I am SO grateful for that! I am horrible at following instructions because I'm just that rebellious. He keeps me in line. It's led to some arguments because I won't take my pain pills, I want caffeine, but he loves me enough to argue me into what's good for me. And I don't take that for granted. Nothing like doing it with a friend, and being there for each other. I feel blessed.
  7. You know I'm not really sure about the pale bit. Maybe one of the vets would know? The fact is, it is VERY rapid weight loss. I read about "slow losers" on here, and the slowest were faster than me EVER. I can imagine if you're not getting enough Vitamins, not going out a lot, not eating your Protein, that it would show. I also expect to have dry skin and falling hair due to protein and mainly fat restriction. I wonder if some of that is going on? Again, the vets would have better answers than my random speculations

    Freaking Out

How many times have you lost it before and re-gained it along with several of its friends?

    Dallas area sleeve?

My husband and I are in Keller. We had our surgery in Mexico and would love to meet fellow sleeves. Here's a little bariatric humor for you. I suggested to my husband that it would be good for us to meet other people who were going through the same thing. He thought it was a great idea because "that way four people can go out, order one appetizer and share it" LOL. He's a smart ass, but he may not be wrong about this!
  10. So so sorry to hear this. Thoughts and prayers with you.
  11. Amy how are you feeling? Are things getting better? been thinking about you today, hoping you're having an easier time.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

Did you check with the rheumatologist? I was told to not get back on them until the incisions had healed. He also said to check with the surgeon and see at what point the risk of infection was almost non-existent. The surgeon said to wait until 3 weeks after surgery to start them again. So worth checking with rheumy I'd say.
  13. Isn't that weird? The part we would, have loved in the old days is the part we now have to throw out!
  14. Good luck! I'm sure everything will go well for you and the others being sleeved tomorrow. We'll be thinking of you
  15. I don't know how much of this is happening with you, but throughout the years of changing weight, one thing has been constant for me. Men are attracted to me when I feel sexy and confident. They are less attracted to me when I hate my own body. My actual weight at these points has varied, what matters in my case, is how I see myself, and how I project myself. Is it possible that the main attractant now is your more positive view of yourself?

    New You

I went to Nordstroms for a makeover with the bobbi brown folks. I also tried Laura merrier, Clinique, went to Dillards, etc and got a whole, new face-look right after I had recovered from a serious illness. I found the Nordstroms ladies to be the best makeup artists irrespective of line of cosmetics. Even if you don't buy all expensive makeup, it does help to see what colors they use, what they do with shades, etc.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

I took my last Enbrel and Methotrexate a week ago last Friday. That means it's been 11 days since my last doses. Typically I start to feel it in my joints on shot-day. I don't know if my body is just busy recovering from the surgery and therefore releasing endorphins naturally or what, but thankfully, no pain yet. Not naive enough to believe it won't come, just grateful it's not here yet!
  18. Yup I've gained too, while eating nothing of course. I look 5 months pregnant from the bloat. I'm assuming this is normal surgery aftermath and it will go away on its own. Soon

    August 2013 Roll Call

I'm 3 days post op today and I look and feel about 5 months pregnant from the tummy bloat! Anyone else experiencing this? I'm not sweating it, I'm sure it's totally normal after surgery, but wondered if something you did helped with the bloaties?
