    Sleevers by profession.

I am the president of a marketing agency that focused on data, Analytics and digital. So far I am winning the nerd award. What a surprise (story of my life) . Six days sleeved, yippee!

So I shouldn't ask for Don Rodolfo when we get there?

    Any vegetarian sleevers?

I think with Protein powder, Peanut Butter, tofu, quinoa, paneer (Indian stores carry this), various dals and lentils, surely one should be able to have at least one meal A day that's not meat filled right??

    6 days post op exhaustion

We were told vitamins, Omega 3, Biotin, and sublingual b12 about twice a week. We've taken it once, and it did seem to pep us up. Coincidence? I dunno, worth trying. I hope you can go into surgery with peace. You will be on the other side soon, and I suspect he will be able to help you more than you think now. Good luck tomorrow!

    Dallas area sleeve?

Maybe we should organize something in the mid cities for us to meet? I'm going to the one in Plano next week but that's quite a hike. Would y'all be interested?

    You look amazing!

    scared of being that 1%

Along with everything others have said, I also thought my chances of getting into a car wreck while driving to see the doctor were about as high as my risk of death from surgery so.....it's all relative.

    6 days post op exhaustion

Seeing you needing help might make him recover faster. Honestly my husband needed more help then I did (we were sleeved on the same day), and knowing he needed care made me get up and about more than I might have done if not for that.

    self pay woes

You might want to look into Mexico for cheaper but equally good quality options. We were self-pay and from reading others' posts, it was a lot less hassle with re approvals, uncertainty, NUT visits, psych tests etc. Good and bad in that, so self-pay does come with some upside. But if you are waiting for a while to save up, then you may try to approximate some of that counseling on your own. Edit: oops just saw you said Mx was not am option. Ignore that in my post!

    August 2013 Roll Call

I have dreamed about food for two days now. It's not just you. Visions of sandwiches and soup and kebabs and rice are dancing through my head. It's all calling me seductively. And I'm drinking shakes and water instead.

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

You should really call your Rheumy on this. Mine had definitive ideas on when to get off what. I wasn't on prednisone but he looked at my drugs and calculated how long they last in your body, and therefore how soon before surgery I had to quit etc. what I'm saying this is a serious question for a trained professional. Someone posted earlier on how much acupuncture helps her during a flare. Might work for you? It's in this thread somewhere.
  14. I'm really really really hoping we hate sugar post op! That's my biggest downfall. I hope and pray we hate sweets after we start eating.

    Giving yourself permission...

I've always justified not cleaning my plate by thinking of how much more expensive a heart attack or diabetes would be. I've had to convince my husband that we (read HE!) will have to get used to throwing away food and not having leftovers. If we keep food in the house, it calls his name. I eat and then I don't think about food, but he's not like that. I made him read stories of people eating an entire pizza or fried rice or whatever by eating around the sleeve, all day, and told him THAT was what was truly expensive and wasteful. His head gets it, his heart struggles a bit
