    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

That's odd. Mine was in favor of anything that would control my weight and reduce stress on my joints. I don't expect to come off the meds all together. I'd just like to be able to go from my current 9/week methotrexate down to 4/week where I used to be. I dream of giving up the Enbrel, but doubt I can. Between the RA and the resulting inflammation, plus the meds for it, combined with my slow thyroid, I CANNOT lose the weight on my own. It doesn't matter how little I eat, the weight doesn't come off like it used to. For that alone, I am thankful for the sleeve.

    Surgery Date is tomorrow! (8-13)

Good luck tomorrow! See you on the other side
  4. I went back to work today. Started out really strong at the 8 am meeting. Staggered into the 3 pm with little left in me. Rested a bit and then cooked a few things this evening so getting my second wind. But I didn't have to lift patients, I just had to carry myself around!

The lack of calories and carbs is making me short tempered and cranky for sure. I'm normally very peppy and I don't deal well with tired and helpless and sick. And with your young kids, it got to be tougher. (Thought you posted earlier about 3 young kids yes?) Trust me its not just you. It's part of the journey as far as I can tell from watching others, and myself.

    Complex carb ideas

Well, since no one else has posted, I have one more that I loved pre-surgery. You can't taste the tofu. Recipe linked below, but I do add a jalapeño for they bite I love. Vitamix mock cream of spinach Soup. Easy peaty barely any cooking http://pocketoffulllife.wordpress.com/2010/09/16/popeye-approved-faux-cream-of-spinach-soup-in-the-vitamix/

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

I haven't taken anything in 3 weeks and I have not yet had any pain. I'm really surprised! Usually I can tell its shot day because I start to gently ache the previous day. Hoping this lasts for a while. What about the rest of you?

Nothing love. We're just gently teasing you. With love. Personally I liked how you were totally decisive about your opinion. I'm usually like that even wait benefit of surgery.

I'm currently hating Fuzzy Navel. Naturally, because I have a full tub of it. Loving loving mint chocolate chip. Naturally, because I'm running out of it I luuurve the mint chocolate chip and the chike coffee Protein.
  11. Curious how soon after surgery you were able to give up meds for things like cholesterol, high blood pressure, sugar/diabetes? My husband and I are maybe 10 days post-op (I can't keep up with the days), and already it seems as though he really shouldn't be taking his blood pressure medication because his blood pressure is too low if he does. He's lost 20 lbs since we started and has another 60+ to go, so it seems really early for it to be making an impact. Of course we're also only able to eat 500 cals a day so not sure if that is part of what's making his pressure drop and making him light-headed. We're making all our Protein and Water requirements, just can't hit the additional calories. On less than 500 cals, he's already walking two miles a day in the Texas heat and that worries me. So not sure how much of his lowered blood pressure is surgery related vs. lack of food related. What was your experience? Thanks in advance for sharing. I'm a little worried about him.
  12. Omg I have had a huge and disappointing change. I cannot tolerate frozen mixed berries mixed into my shake anymore We used to have these all the time pre-surgery. Every Breakfast shake had them. I've tried them twice in the last two days and as soon as the taste hits me, i want to gag. My face looks EXACTLY like this kid! I so sad http://www.gifbin.com/985170

My (smart ass but often right) husband says you should just let her know that even when you DO come back alive, she'll still be needing to find someone else to do her hair. Could a person be more narcissistic than that?! how rude.
