Omg! You look so different! Do people who haven't seen you in a while do a double take? I suspect they'd have to. Good for you! -

I love this very time I read it and I thought you guys would appreciate it as well. "You want a physicist to speak at your funeral. You want the physicist to talk to your grieving family about the conservation of energy, so they will understand that your energy has not died. You want the physicist to remind your sobbing mother about the first law of thermodynamics; that no energy gets created in the universe, and none is destroyed. You want your mother to know that all your energy, every vibration, every Btu of heat, every wave of every particle that was her beloved child remains with her in this world. You want the physicist to tell your weeping father that amid energies of the cosmos, you gave as good as you got. "And at one point you'd hope that the physicist would step down from the pulpit and walk to your brokenhearted spouse there in the pew and tell them that all the photons that ever bounced off your face, all the particles whose paths were interrupted by your smile, by the touch of your hair, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off like children, their ways forever changed by you. And as your widow rocks in the arms of a loving family, may the physicist let her know that all the photons that bounced from you were gathered in the particle detectors that are her eyes, that those photons created within her constellations of electromagnetically charged neurons whose energy will go on forever. "And the physicist will remind the congregation of how much of all our energy is given off as heat. There may be a few fanning themselves with their programs as he says it. And he will tell them that the warmth that flowed through you in life is still here, still part of all that we are, even as we who mourn continue the heat of our own lives. "And you'll want the physicist to explain to those who loved you that they need not have faith; indeed, they should not have faith. Let them know that they can measure, that scientists have measured precisely the conservation of energy and found it accurate, verifiable and consistent across space and time. You can hope your family will examine the evidence and satisfy themselves that the science is sound and that they'll be comforted to know your energy's still around. According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of you is gone; you're just less orderly. "Amen." Aaron Freeman

Actually it makes sense because the milk probably softens/tenderizes it.

Here's another link I'd pinned. The first 5-6 are shakes which you can ignore, but the others sound quite good. http://www.leanitup.com/30-protein-packed-small-meal-ideas-under-250-calories/2/

I can't speak to the other person's motivations, but I can tell you she is blind as a bat, and needs glasses. Seriously. You look gorgeous. Your skin glows in your pictures, you look healthy and happy. Shut down the negative voice and look for people who support and love you as you are. And CONGRATULATIONS on the baby!!

Hand me downs...from my daughter!

Just think, pretty soon her clothes will be too big for you -
Read lots and lots. I systematically read every thread on the first page of every forum here, and some of them, I read more than that. You have to prepare yourself. All the resources are here. At first I asked questions, and then I realized most of my questions had been patiently answered by helpful people over and over. They'd also answered questions I hadn't yet thought to ask in other threads. I learn so much on this forum daily, it's very empowering. You'll do fine

Help me weigh the pros and cons

We got sleeved in Mexico. I can't say whether I would have appreciated more aftercare of not, because we went into it knowing our after care would be long-distance. I think getting sleeved away from home does put the burden more on the individual, to self-educate, and to stay on track. In our case, I am extremely curious and would have read up on everything even with a local doctor. I also don't need a surgeon telling me what to do daily. I do need a surgeon who will respond when I need help. Our doctor emails responses, the coordinator is available and if I have further questions, I come here. If you want pre-classes, routine follow-ups with the surgeon (our PCP will be doing the follow-ups) then local may make sense. Otherwise, find the best surgeon at the best price and go for it. My POV -
Sounds like you sprained your shoulder while lifting the case of Water If it started after you lifted it, and hurts when you move it,manat would be my guess. Anyone else with different thoughts?

hi there! are you pre or post-op? how many days?
-
Maybe you should take a nap. In my case, I took an afternoon nap daily for the first 4-5 days, and then i don't know how/why, but I was just zinging with energy after that. If you read the posts here, everyone says two things. a) the first few days are a total b**ch and it gets better. So hang in there, and since you started on the weekend, take advantage of it to rest and nap.

Right?? I"m not to solid foods yet but it looks like a lot of food! Here are some other good ones that look doable. http://www.shape.com...er-200-calories If you're on Pinterest, I'm on there and have all these pinned. http://pinterest.com/statgamer

You may have to up the Protein content on some of these, but I like this link. It's non-sandwich lunch boxes for kids, but I suspect they're the right portion size for us! Enjoy http://www.keeleymcguire.com/2013/02/lunch-made-easy-20-non-sandwich-school.html?m=1

I'm always horrified by my pictures. I was very shapely and at a healthy weight as a young adult, when our self-image is formed for the most part. I hate when I think I really look good because I did whatever today....and then someone takes a picture and what do you know! I'm FAT! How the heck did that happen I wonder? But wouldn't you know it, when I was 120 lbs at 5'6, and measured 36-24-36? Oh then my thighs were sooo fat! That's what I thought then. I'm hoping that now that I'm all grown up, I can get m weight and my self-image aligned in a realistic fashion.

Tips for Post-op Energy during recovery?
gamergirl replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say, the bean soup and the applesauce REALLY helped me yesterday. I do feel so much better today! I woke up and almost the first words out of my mouth were, I'd like to go somewhere and do something today. It's still super hot outside, so we may be reduced to walking in the mall, or taking out the new boat that my husband insisted on buying while we're both still recovering But I agree with you, distraction and focusing on something else really helps. We ended up spending all day yesterday on the go--not planned, just worked out that way. I usually work from home, but this upcoming week, I might go into the office just to get a little separation from recovery, Protein, Water, and more protein. It's good practice because the following week, I have to travel for work so time to get ready. Don't you just love/hate to find out we're all normal? Not only do we get tired after surgery---but ta dah! now it's the 3 week stall!! Thank god for this forum or I'd be freaking out. -
post-op Tips for Post-op Energy during recovery?
gamergirl posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's 15 days today I think. I'm getting between 500-600 cals via full liquids, at least 80 gms of Protein, less than 50 of carbs, and drinking my Water. I'm taking Vitamins, Fiber, b-complex, omega-3. No pain, no complications, feeling lucky. Down 20 lbs, feeling incredulous about that. Just finished my cycle today, so apparently all is well with my innards. And I am still SO tired. I thought by two weeks, I'd be up and about and at 'em! But I'm not able to do much without needing breaks. I am taking meetings lying in bed and after two, I'm tired. I'm used to 60 hour weeks, and now I couldn't be bothered to schedule meetings this week. Don't feel up to working which is weird. Can't focus on reading anything substantive so reading light novels, which is not normal. All I do is lie around and read forum posts and occasionally get up and try to cook something, clean house a bit, or ride my stationary cycle for 10 minutes. THIS IS NOT THE REAL ME! Is this "normal"? I need to be back to fighting speed next Monday. I can't be lying around in week 3--surely I won't need to, right? More importantly what did you do during post-op recovery to get some energy into you? -
Me too. I hate mayo, couldn't care less about ranch or sour cream. But cake! If I'm dying, please offer me either cake or Biryani (Indian spicy rice and chicken) and watch me come back to life.
