Too much food making me angry

I just ordered a serving of chili at the airport, gave half to my colleague, ate a fourth and ditched the rest. You could have fed a family if four for a whole day just off what I threw away today.

Too much food making me angry

I struggle when I travel for business and order in hotels. Going out to restaurants is easier because they have a bit more variety. Yesterday we were working through lunch. The menu basically had Soup, salad, and sandwiches. I did turkey pastrami, meat only. No bread, cheese, veggies, sides. I guess that just sounded stupid to the chef so he sent pastrami, cheese, veggies, fruit, and a set of condiments. Really? More waste. I know they mean well and I should just take a chill pill.
  3. Wow! What a change! You look great both before and after. And it's good to have a face to associate with those lipstick lips

Too much food making me angry

In which case you may appreciate the sleeve even more than I do--and I REALLY love mine. See how little I could eat? Granted I'm only 6 weeks out but still...it's a relief to not even have to wonder if I should eat more. When is your surgery?

    how does this play out?

Your post was very reassuring. I am now 5 weeks out (or is it 6?) I definitely feel hungry at mealtimes and snack times but I think that's okay and easy to deal with. As long as I don't want to eat all the time, I feel that I should be fine. Seeing your weight loss numbers even as you felt real hunger was quite a relief. Thanks for posting.
  7. New recipe on my blog with pictures here: http://sleevers.wordpress.com/2013/09/09/5-minute-hummus/ Make this and tell me how it’s any faster to get this at the store. By the time you walk into the store, put it in your cart, pay for it…I’ll have eaten half the homemade hummus Ingredients 1 15.5 oz can of chickpeas/garbanzo beans, reserve 1/4 c of the liquid 3-4 cloves of peeled garlic 1/4 c tahini (sesame paste)* 1 tsp salt Juice of 1 fresh lemon Optional Garnish Ground Paprika 1/4 c toasted pine nuts (put into a small pan and toast over low-medium heat until they turn light brown) 2 tbsp chopped italian parsley (I didn’t use it this time) 1 tbsp good quality olive oil Method 1. Place all ingredients except garnish in the bowl of a food processor or blender. 2. Process until smooth. 3. Pour into bowl and decorate with garnish ingredients. 4. There is no fourth step. Didn’t I tell you it was very simple? Serve with pita chips, or fresh vegetables such as celery, cucumbers, carrots, red or green peppers.

    Calorie confusion

Well after 11 days of being stalled, I finally lost half a measly pound. I try it not to think of the fact that in the last 6weeks I've only lost 4 lbs. My poor husband is still stalled. But we really are doing everything by the book so it has to work. It will just work on its time, not my time apparently

2 years out and still obese. :(

There's a vets forum where people might be able to help you as well. Several if them are dealing with what you seem to be feeling re being able to eat more etc. if you lost 100 lbs and have only gained back 8, that's pretty fantastic though, right? You seem to be catching the regain early.
  10. That sucks. Do you have a family member there who can advocate for you? Maybe see about getting the doctor paged or whatever?

    Calorie confusion

With me,I I've had my thyroid rested ans also. Was asked to breathe into a snorkel-like mask. They can then tell you for resting metabolic rate (BMr)
  12. Just wondering how you're doing? Did they figure out how to treat it yet?

    Married but looking?

There's some thinking out there that that WLS is a catalyst. It strengthens relationships that were already strong, but tends to be very hard on marriages/relationships that are already struggling. Not surprised, with as many of us that are on the forum, that we are in different places with our SOs.

    need an example menu

There's a thread here where people are sharing their myfitnesspal names. If you're using that app, it's good to be able to see others daily good diaries.

If you like spicy/blackened food, I have a blackened salmon recip on my blog, but really you can use that with any kind of fish.

How much do you save on food?

I agree with butter. The Protein shakes, Vitamins, etc all add up. I think you'll spend less on eating out but it will be made up in special things like I mentioned. Plus your kids may not eat what you're eating. Say you make fish because it doesn't bother your sleeve and your kids don't like fish...our youngest decided to become vegetarian just as we started eating meat. Of course when we were vegetarians he wanted meat daily...can you tell he's a teenager? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  19. I thought some of you might like this. I'm nowhere near Cross Fit yet but I know some of you are into it so here goes. http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3867924
