Hi Sierra, I bought some Atkins meals, too. Pretty good stuff! I like the turkey medallion one, but wish the sauce wasn't all over the green beans. The chili con carne is good when I want something spicy. Where is everyone? Things are going well for me, and I hope all you others are doing great!

Four months out- bizarre occurrence today
TooFluffy replied to acspringhill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I get dizzy, too, and am not on heart meds nor am I diabetic. I do struggle to get all my liquids in, so THANK YOU for this info. -
Thanks, Kathy!

Ditto here on the enhance sence of smell! It does lessen after a few weeks.

Taste bud change?
TooFluffy replied to SydneySweetHeart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No chemical taste here, but my tastes in general have changed a lot! -
I'm curious, how many calories are you Jan 13 sleevers eating a day now? I'm up to between 800 and 900, which seems like TOO much. Is it? MJM, congrats on a period on your own! Like you said, in God's timing for conception.

Here's another option - I sew, so I buy fabric that matches my short sleeved shirts and add to the sleeve length. No one ever notices that the shirts weren't bought that way!

I just wanted to pop in and ask if you can believe this is our 2 month surgiversary?? Yowza! The time has flown by, yet it seems I've been sleeved for a long time. As if this morning, I'm down 49.2 pounds - 30.2 since day of surgery. I hope you're all doing great!

Women who make comments like that, are usually afraid that you will end up smaller than them. Somehow, they just can't deal with that though, ha ha.

10ways I knew obesity's ruined my life...
TooFluffy replied to Band2Sleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just about every one of those topics apply to me, too. My list would be longer, because I am older. I've missed out on things with my grandchildren, too. But for me, the day I had my surgery, began a new life! I am happier, more healthy, and have such a better attitude in general. Although I am far from goal, obesity is no longer running my life, I am! It's good to see that you are now concentrating on the better, healthier half of your life. I'm wishing the very best for you on your journey! -
Thanks for the well wishes! I'm much better now. Congrats to all the "losers", lol. I weighed in at my first group support meeting this week, and I'm down 43 pounds total, which is 24 pounds since surgery. I'm "this close" to zipping up another size down in jeans. What a great feeling! My daughter is working full time now, so I'm babysitting more hours. Makes it hard to get in here to post. But I'll pop in when I can. I hope you're all having a good weekend!

How many grams of carbs per day?
TooFluffy replied to JessicaAnn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My NUT says for 6-12 months post-op: 850 Calories 90 Carbs g 60+ Protein g 30 Fat g 12+ months out: 1300 Calories 150 Carb g 80-120 Protein g 45 Fat g Just shows how different each NUT can be. -
Sorry I've been MIA. I have a cold, and feel rotten, but I'll be back to catch up when I can.

Sleeve size? new/post op
TooFluffy replied to mikie71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What size bougie did your surgeon use? Mine used a 38 French. Even if yours is bigger, there isn't a huge difference. Like the others have said, you'll notice restriction a lot more once you get to solids. -
Energy level changes and different tastebuds after surgery
TooFluffy replied to SleevesUp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost 5 weeks out, here. I have bursts of energy now, but then need a nap, lol. My tastes have changed, and it seems my sense of smell is different. Can't stand the air freshener that I loved before. I have been craving anything with vinegar - pickles, dressings, etc. Just a little sugar tastes like way to much to me now. That's a blessing, lol. -
I had pasta twice. The first time, it hurt my sleeve. Second time, I chewed and chewed and chewed it, and it did not hurt a bit. Diane, I wish I could get into the habit of not eating after dinner, but we eat so early that I just can't go that long w/o food. I pulling for you! It will be a lot easier for you since DH is on board. Are each of you actually taking 30 minutes to finish a meal? I cannot make it last that long! Twenty minutes is the best I can do.

One month out! Whoot! As of today, I'm down 39.8 pounds. 20.8 is post-op. Diane, I know!!! It amazes me too, how such a tiny bit of food can fill us up! Kathy, I'll have to check out the Spenco sandals. They sound great. Hello to Maitte and Sierra, too. Have any if you had the Laughing Cow wedges on crackers? The mozzarella, tomato, and basil is especially savory. So is the French onion.

My name is Jane. You ladies can call me that, if you want. Doneganregiime, I buy my arch support inserts at Walmart, but I buy the men's ones. I have big feet, and I'm heavy, so those work well for me. They are about $15 a pair, so I have several sets. It says on the pkg that they are for plantar's fasciitis. Dlm59, I'm eating just about everything now, except things like raw apples, steak, and stuff like that. I'm so used to counting carbs from past diets, that it is a relief to not have to worry about them yet. Once I eat my Protein, there's not much room left anyway. MJM, the weight gain is from the IV, I feel certain. No way you can be gaining any other way! I'm just so glad you're doing better! I had a small bit of barbecue pork for dinner, with about a tablespoon of baked potato. YUM! I fixed the pork in the crock pot, so it was super tender. Have a good Wednesday!

MJM, so glad you're doing better. How long will you have to be on the liquid diet? Dlm, for some reason, I don't crave sweets at all. Not sure how I would do if chips were in the house, though! Doneganregime, my scales stayed the same for 6 days, then dropped 5.8 pounds quickly. From what I've read, that seems common. I've had problems with plantars fasciitis too, and it's no fun. Make sure your arches are supported at all times. Mine was brought on by using the treadmill. Go figure! I called my nutritionist today, to ask if I should be monitoring carbohydrates. She said no, not in till about six months out. Just make sure I'm getting liquids, and plenty of Protein. Have a good Tuesday!

No problems with mine, either! I was just curious how it compared.
-
Just curious what size bougie your surgeon used. Mine used a 38 French. Is that average?

Not bragging but.....
TooFluffy replied to gohelpyourself's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm four weeks out, and have had an easy time of everything. No nausea, pain, or other problems since the day after surgery. If it wasn't for my incisions, and the stomach restriction I feel, I would wonder if I even had surgery! I LOVE my sleeve! -
Insurance paying for protein drinks....
TooFluffy replied to leo0704's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just submitted my info. Thanks for the heads up, leo! -
MJM, so glad your doctor tried the dilation! I hope this will be the end of it for you. God is so good! The Almond Joy creamer is made by Internatioal Delights. SO good! One thing I'm so amazed about is my indifference to junk food. DH brought home Pinwheel cookies, and I had no desire at all for even a tiny bite. That kind if stuff doesn't sound good to me at all. I sure hope this continues! Have a good Sunday tomorrow!

My hospital won't even do bands anymore. Too many complications! I LOVE my sleeve!
