I've got a ? About the scope
TooFluffy replied to TcsSleeveJourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The scope is a piece of cake! After mine, the doctor said I had some inflammation in the lining of my stomach, due to some medication. I no longer take that medication. My friend had polyps on her stomach lining, which the doctor removed. The test is going to make sure your stomach is healthy before surgery, and if not, they will fix whatever the problem is so your surgery can go on as planned. No worries! -

Congrats, BryJohn! You're doing fantastic!

Macy, I'm so sorry your friend and sister-in-law said what they did. It could be that they don't understand what a powerful tool the surgery is to help you get to your goal weight. Are either if them overweight? If so, they may be a tad jealous that you are on the road to a normal weight and healthy lifestyle.

ANTHEM BLUE CROSS ?
TooFluffy replied to Tropical.Lover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also from Indiana like cdunn. I am required to have six months consecutive doctor supervised weight loss plan. I also will have psych evaluation, several visits with a doctor, six visits with the nutritionist, lab work, behavior meetings, etc. Although I do wish my surgery was sooner, I need these meetings to prepare me how to handle "head hunger" and emotional eating after surgery. -
Things are working out so well for you! That's a good sign for things to come.

What "everyday activities" are you looking forward to post-op?
TooFluffy posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope this doesn't come across as frivolous, but I can't help but think about some of these things. In addition to getting healthy, I can't wait to: have my husband's arms reach all the way around me play on the floor with the grandkids cross my legs climb stairs without huffing and puffing tie my shoes without cutting off my own oxygen sit in a regular lawn chair shop for clothes in the misses dept. sit in a booth dance without worrying what I look like buy any bracelet in the case buy something other than perfume at Victoria's Secret plus many, many more! What are some everyday activities you look forward to? -
Yay for the 20 pounds down! Good idea about selling the LK tickets, lol. I'm excited for you, and will be so happy when I get to the point of my jourrney that you have reached. Good luck!

I hope all went well, Patti.

Is there anyone here who is over 60 who has to lose more than 100 lbs.?
TooFluffy replied to WeeWers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Weewers, I'll be 60 in two months, and have 120 pounds to lose. I am just starting my journey, with a visit to the social worker and NUT on Tuesday. I'll be happy to keep tabs with you and the others who have posted here. We are all in the same boat. Some are just at the head of it, lol. Although I've almost always been overweight, I never dreamed that I would be making this decision. Finally came to realize I need this surgery if I'm going to live a healthy life. -

I did download Eat it Up as first mentioned by Tigerbelle. It's very powerful! -
Anyone feel "judged" by medical personell at the hospital?
TooFluffy replied to Gardengirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
jenlen, good for you, reporting that nurse. Hopefully, her supervisor addressed it in such a way that she will never make such a comment again. IMO, she needs transferred to a different floor, or out the door! -

Great topic! I hadn't considered there would be books on the subject, but I'll be downloading several of these right away. -
I read it all, and am sending BIG hugs your way.
