Thanks Cindy....very true....I need to focus on me first...everything will come in time! Crispy, I too like you used this site for its wealth of information and encouragement...you will find the good the bad and the ugly in here with experiences. Prior to my surgery had many many reservations number one where in the hell am I gonna find 16000.00? If I pay this money what if I fail again? What if there is a complications? Girl there will be a million what ifs???? You just have to trust God and know that you are doing this for you and no one else! As we grow older we do less for ourselves and become the be all and end all for everyone else. Now it is time for you. This is the best decision you will ever make for yourself. Will you doubt this decision again...hell yes! After a week of my surgery I totaly regreted doing the surgery but after communication with the doctors office...the problem I experienced was over and I was over the doubting stage. Stand firm and know you are doing this for you. I know I am airing my business out there but if I can encourage just one person it will be worth it. Prior to the surgery I suffered with bulimia. It is was the absolute worst thing that happened to me. I personally feel that I had a hernia due to the binging and purging oh and smoking (5 weeks cigarette free y'all). I felt absolutely hopeless. I went all the way up to 306. I was passing out at work and constantly sick. I made up my mind and never looked back. Can't say I am cured BUT since surgery the thought of binging and purging NEVER crossed my mind. I feel like a new person. Will you get down on yourself...probably...will you doubt yourself...maybe...will you encourage yourself....all the time girl! This is a new beginning for YOU! Embrace it and roll with it..you will be fine. Take care...sweetz....

Thanks guys...I didn't get the job...which I think is a blessing in disguise. I love the job I have now...the other job was for the pay...so I am not devistated. I feel a lot better now...I pushed myself and went to the gym...I am very proud of myself. I guess we all know we will get there eventually but we want it now!!!lol. Thanks everyone for the support!

I think we all are having a real rollercoaster ride this week. October will come in no time! Trust me. Girl you are well on your way! Don't worry about hubby....when I told mine about the surgery he did not want me to do it (cost, the port issue etc) but I told him that it is too bad. I have to do what I have to do for ME first, then him and my son. I feel I will be a better person emotionally and physically. Do what you have to do for you as you are all you have in the end. As long as up are happy with you that is all that matters. You are well on your way to great things!

Thanks guys....you would think after reading all the posts I would be more prepare for what I am going through but I guess no one will ever be prepared for the journey after the surgery. I get confused with my eating at times and frustrated with that...and for my husband god love him...he is just honest and does not mean any harm. He feels by mentioning it I will be more motivated to lose. He just does not know how to encourage me I can usually handle it but not today...not with how I felt today. Hey eveyone, I had my surgery on August 7, 2007. I am on solid foods right now and can eat almost anything...kinda getting scared. It was my first day back to work today and I ate cake today and could just step on my big toe! I am getting my first fill on September 4, 2007, I can't wait. I am supposed to get 4 cc's. I am very excited but I don't know what to expect. I have a 10 cc band. Can the more experienced bandsters tell me what to expect? I did have 3 cc's in my band after surgery and had a lot of restriction but that was in combonation with a hernia repair and swelling. How does the weight loss work? What will I feel if I eat too much...will that be enough of a deterent? What are some of the things that made you successful and kept you going. I really need your help.

I think you need to talk to your doctor and remind him that you are paying him for this service...if after a reasonable amount of time has passed....(enough to heal 4-6 weeks) and you still have an appetite he needs to give you a fill. The last thing you want is to be frustrated. Take care.

Pretty good Angel Bear, I went back to work yesterday and am feeling good! I go for my first fill on Tuesday...can't wait....I am getting my appetite back.

Hey my dear...don't beat up on yourself...remember you are no super being...take it from a past veteren binge eater...don't beat up on yourself. Yes the surgery is a last resort but yes you are human and will make mistakes. I was in your shoes a week after surgery thinking oh my god what did I just do to myself and why the hell did I pay $16 grand to do it! lol...trust me I was a wreck...but you know what...it gets better...I thank GOD I did this surgery. Don't worry what you are going through is normal. Don't reverse the surgery. Keep at it and don't give up on yourself. One year from now you will be amazed with your self!

I have overcome an eating disorder that I have struggled with for years. That is a biggie for me!

I am doing really good....I have graduated to solids now and am ready to get my fill...I can't wait...I have my appetite back somewhat...and don't want to stray. I am back to work tomorrow so that should keep me focused. How are you going?

How does that feel? Next week I am getting a fill of 4 cc's. I don't know how it will feel? Or what I will experience?

I met with Sue (the nurse) today at the clinic....I am down 19 lbs (gained a pound since surgery) and I can get soft foods now...anyone have any idea for soft foods??? I am getting my appetite back and don't want to go overboard.:help:

Ahhhh....don't sweat it....I am happy that your surgery went well.

Well....I called the clinic today as it is one week and still cannot burp.:sick I get a lot of pain in my chest.:cry It is also hard to get down liquid everything is sipping even water. I talked to the nurse who advised me that I had about 2 cc's in my band from the surgery and we can take out the liquid. Hopefully this will cause some releif. I will let you all know how that goes.

Oh yes.....the next day I felt a million times better.
