  3. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary Joy!

  4. Thanks for the feedback. I am losing weight for me. I'll keep in touch and let you how it's going.
  5. Hi, I am Joy and I am a 53 year old bander with 150 pounds to lose (more tomorrow). I was banded last August lost 30 pounds, and crashed ever since. I have recieved two fills but they just did not click. I am starting from day one again. I am willing and motivated but seem to be afraid to actually get it done. If you like a willing challenge, I'm your girl.

    Being Honest

I was banded in Aug.08. I lost 30 pounds before my fill, but since I have only gained. I went in for a fill but felt as if I should be punished. I admitted it was my fault and got another fill. That was months ago, I still eat like a horse and am still gaining weight. I am afraid to go get another fill. The doctor will probably get mad. I am not usually a shy or "silly" person but losing the weight scares me.

I have to be the biggest failure here!

I am with you, I was banded in Aug. 07 and have yet to feel any restriction. I lose weight due to the habit of of dieting but gain it back just because I can. This is frustrating! Keep your spirits up and we will soon join the slim girls by the pool.
  8. I have been banded since August 13th. I went for my first fill and asked the Dr. to add a little extra because I didn't feel restricted at all. He just put in 1.25cc. When is this going to start working! I still do not feel any restriction and I am beginning to wonder why I did this. Just venting, I know it will work someday. :faint:

Irrational Fears (phobias and the like)

I think many of us are just fearful of the success we have and are afraid that we don't deserve a happy life. WE DO! Everyone should be happy but we have hidden ourselves away for so long that to be a part of the "other" world is just as fearful as being laughed at for our weight. Maybe you need to talk with others about it and then it will calm down. Please don't let the fear stop you from moving to your goal. We all have to go through the fears to get into our new "safe zones" in the thin world. God bless.

    I need advice guys!

I am new to this also, but the surgery went great. No pain really just a little discomfort for three days. Take the medicine but I only needed it once. I've had a c-section and was expecting a lot worse. Everyone at the hospital knew exactly what to do and say to get you up and moving and enjoying the situation as much as possible.
  11. Hello everyone, I have experienced only slight hunger, usually when I stress or have skipped a meal. I am set for my first fill this Friday. I hope to stay on liquids as long as possible, shakes and the like seem to help me stay focused. I have lost 25 pounds since banding, and 35 from my max of 285. I love coming to the forum and seeing everyone's progress.
  12. I am over 50 too, but after all those pre-surgery tests I am glad to know exactly where I stand health wise. I know my heart and lungs are fine, and what areas that the band is going to help. I feel better knowing that lapband and health are both in my future.
  13. I have always been large, I wonder , and I am a little afraid of what I will be like when I'm thin. I know I am a nice person and my husband will love me, but will I turn into one of those tv bitches?
  14. I wondered why I got hicups after eating.
