Name some of the most difficult things you experienced after vsg surgery

Me too. However, I finally gave in and bought elastic dress pants to wear to work when I was literally having to hold my pants to walk! Hopefully these will last through a couple of sizes! -

I agree with each and everyone of these. I do want to add one, though. I have a problem some days not eating enough. It contributes to be not loosing and is quite frustrating. -
The premise isopure wasn't horrible just sickenly sweet like everything else. If you are still in liquid or purée try tomato or cream of potato soup. I felt like I had had something when I ate that. You can't live on 300 calories a day. I promise it gets better. Good luck to you!!

Pure protein bars saved me. 20 G protein and 17 carbs. Much less than the 45 plus most others have.

Amen! -
Most health food stores will have samples to buy. However, I tried several different types, made them with water instead of milk, and anything else I could think to do and I never was able to get protein drinks down. My dr told me he was more concerned with my other liquids as to not get dehydrated than he was with the protein drinks- this was in the first two weeks or so. After that I found pure protein bars. They have 20 grams of protein and only 17 carbs. He said these were ok asking as I got ally water in. Now that I can eat I don't use them anymore- I just try to eat all my protein.

My dr made me wait four weeks and I could only walk then. I had to wait until six weeks for minor lifting.

It happens. We have all done it- I know I have. We have to remember that we have to have a change in our habits and our emotional/mental state too. It is a process. You will remember this feeling and it will help you to not repeat this! Good luck to you..... -

Sleevers over 300lbs?
JSCRIMPSHIRE replied to dstined4gr8tnes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I started this journey at 304. I was sleeved July 1 and am down 70 pounds. It is very slow and I have had a couple of stalls but it's coming. 84 pounds to go!! -
The meal plan is not hard. I find that I must eat about every two hours in order to get all of my calories in. If I let them drop, I stop loosing. I didn't eat whole foods until week six post op. And yes, I had to see a dr every month for six months to document my weight before I was approved.
-
I was sleeved July 1 btw.

I am from MS as well. I live on the Gulf a Coast and used Dr. Avera in Ocean Springs. Amazing doctor!!!

I just cant do the protien shakes! Help!
JSCRIMPSHIRE replied to FAWife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have noises no matter what I eat, but they are not bad at all. My told me that if I did the bars to make sure I was getting in all the Water or my body wouldn't absorb the protein. I get pure protein bars from Walmart. 20 grams of protein and only 17 carbs. -
I just cant do the protien shakes! Help!
JSCRIMPSHIRE replied to FAWife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not able to do protein shakes either. I was able to get them down for about a week after surgery and hey started making me nauseated. My dr was more concerned with me not getting dehydrated than getting in protein at that point. When I was able to eat, I was able to get in my protein that way- supplementing with protein bars. I am 4 months out now and must eat every 2 hours or so to get in all the protein and calories but all is well. -
