    Upset...

That's the main reason I didn't tell too many folks. I told only a total of 5 people. My very supportive husband, 3 very very close supportive friends & only because I thought I had too, I told my HR rep. Had I known my doc would have only listed "abdominal surgery" on the paperwork for FMLA & disability, I wouldn't have told HR. I knew folks would try & talk me out of it saying the same things. I don't think I could've handled the stress of those judgmental folks & the anxiety of undergoing a major surgery. With that said, I ditto you, tell the least amount of folks possible. On the other not, great control. Knowing you can refrain from all of that good food now, you'll do well after you are sleeved. Best of luck you!!!
  2. My doc had me on liquid pain meds & the other pills I had to break up & eat with sugar free applesauce for first 3 weeks. Told me not to swallow anything hard or solid.
  3. I've actually been getting them for the past 8 years & never had any issues. So I didn't think I'd have a problem now at almost 11 mons post op. So I got my flu shot yesterday & feel fine.
  4. Lol, this is too funny. I think I was 4 weeks post op & finished off a bag of spicy potato chips before my husband came home. Was surprised at that moment that I was able to eat them so easily so soon. Felt guilty that I fell off the program so soon & paid for it later that day, I never did it again.

    Any Feed Back....

Not posting pictures for privacy. Only my husband & 3 very very close & supportive friends knows. No one ekes, not even family. I've list 69 so far. Surgery went well. Only thing, I went in as an outpatient, but was admitted as an inpatient. Blood count was low & thought I might need a blood transfusion. But as it turned out, all of the fluids they were giving me to keep my hydrated, along with the blood thinners, really really really thinned my blood. Once the doc discontinued the fluids, blood level returned to normal, so I didn't need the transfusion. Had a problem with my heart rate. OMG, every time I moved, might heart rate sky rocketed. When I shifted in the bed, got up to go to the bathroom, or took my walks, the nurses came running. There was no problem with my heart at all. They attributed that to hospital anxiety & worry about the possibility of needed a transfusion. I've always hated hospitals & couldn't believe I was there as an inpatient. Once they told me I didn't need the transfusion & I was getting discharged, heart rate returned back to normal. Once discharged, I was find. Pain was tolerable. Energy returned to normal at week 5. Because I didn't want to end up back in the hospital again, I followed my doctor's rules to the T and had no difficulties at all. Overall, very very satisfied. I am happy & healthy which was my goal. Now the perks, OMG!!! I love the new me, I love buying new smaller clothes & really really love the extra attention from my husband. So glad I did this.

I was scared but needed to get health. I really needed this tool. I'm almost 11 mons post op & my only regret is not doing it sooner. I love my sleeve & love that all of my prior medical conditions are gone.

Considering the closet COE hospital is hours & miles away, they just may grant an exception if that's explained in your appeal. So don't lose hope. Good luck & keep us posted.

    Is 185 a good weight

    I'm 5' tall.
  18. Mine was way out of wack. Came 2 days after surgery, & that was 2 weeks early. I'd get it twice in one month, i missed it for a couple of months too. Went back to normal after 6 months. Now I'm 10 1/2 months post op & now it's 2 weeks late.

    Is 185 a good weight

According to the charts, I should weigh 107 lbs for my height & body frame. but i think 107 is too small. My current weight is 129 & I wouldn't be upset if I don't lose another pound as long as my previous medical conditions remain nonexistent. But doctor expects I'll lose another 10 at 1 yr post op. Overall I'm pleased.

    Secret Sleevers?

I've always been a private person when it comes to my health & personal issues. So I told only my husband, 3 very very close friends & my HR rep. No one else knows. I don't want the judgements, or overbearing concerns. Major health are easier for me to deal with when I keep things private, because I don't get the extra stressed from negative & unsolicited advice. This has been a very positive experience for me & I'm glad I didn't share with too many folks.
