I was really emotional at week 2 as well. But it didn't last long for me at all. I agree with Ballermom, tell your sister in law to eat it herself. Better yet, keep it just for her future visits. Each time she visits, offer her a piece until she eats the entire box. That will show her who has control. Lol..... Walking is go. Good Luck & hang in there.

IBC Personal Choice PPO in PA coverage
Tiny One replied to jadira30's topic in Insurance & Financing
I had to do: 1 psych eval sleep study 2 classes that included the NUT Arterial Blood Gas Upper endoscopy A ton of labs 1 initial consult & 1 pre-op with surgeon ultra sound of abdominal area 1 pulmonary visit for clearance after sleep study I also had to make sure I had my routine GYN exam & mammogram (ibc may not require this, but my doc told me she wouldn't do the surgery if I hadn't.) This is all I could remember. -
No weight loss, cant get fluid and prtein in :(
Tiny One replied to Here2bhealthyandslim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be frustrated, it's still early out. It gets better, just try sipping all day. Maybe drink warm decaf tee or drink your water at room temperature. As time goes by, it will get easier & your energy level will increase. I guarantee in 2 more weeks, you'll feel better & have no regrets. Just give it time. Good luck! -
IBC Personal Choice PPO in PA coverage

I have same insurance. Starting weight was 198, sleep apnea, joint/back pain & GERD. Borderline diabetic, approaching HP & High cholesterol. My BMI was only 38.7 & I was approved with no problem. -
Walking is good for you. Especially if you walk fast enough to get & keep your heart rate up during your walk. So if you like walking, don't stop, just speed up some. Maybe carry some hand weights & work your arms as you stride. Power walk or maybe try jogging. For some strength training, you can get a resistance band from Walmart or a place similar for only a couple of bucks. It actually works. Find what works for you and make adjustments with that. Please don't get discouraged. Just hang in there. You'll be just fine. Good luck!

A question im sure a lot of people have asked..
Tiny One replied to JanelB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I got the approval @ 6 weeks & was told be careful because it wouldn't take much to get me drunk. I had a half glass & stopped because I got tipsy so fast. It doesn't take much for me now. -
Great job. Enjoy clothes shopping. I'm sure you look & feel great!

Try muscle milk by cytosport. It's lactose free & taste pretty good. I found in at GNC (more expensive), Walmart, Acme, Giant foods & WAWA.

That's good you found out now so you can make the adjustment immediately. There is something to say about post op follow-up. Great job.

surgery in two weeks. getting nervous and having second thoughts.
Tiny One replied to LRC89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had second thoughts up until I went under anesthesia. But I really needed to get healthy & knew this was the best option for me. Everyone is different & I guess I'm lucky that I'm approaching 9 mons post op & haven't had any complications. I think I was nauseous a total of 3 times after being discharged. A little pain first couple of days. Week 2 my entire body ached & i was extra emotional, But after that it's been smooth sailing for me. You can do it if you really want to. Good Luck!!!! -
Does It Really Take 6 months Before You Have your surgury
Tiny One replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends on your insurance. I have Independence Blue Cross. There was no waiting period for me. I just had to get all of the required specialist visits & exams done. When i had my initial consult with surgeon, she asked me when did I want to have the surgery & i told her Nov or Dec. So we scheduled all specialist visits immediately. i started the journey in July last year & had surgery Nov 7. Initially I looked at everything I had to do & thought it would take forever. But it actually went pretty quick. -
I'm approaching 9 mons post op and getting 60-70 gm of protein daily. Most come from food, but I still do 1 protein shake daily after i exercise that contains 20 gm of protein. At this point, even if I wanted to, don't think I could eat any more than I do now. Levels are ok, as doc said min should be 60 gm daily with most coming from food.

Any Tips for Altering Clothes While Losing Weight?
Tiny One replied to jan8j's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank goodness when I went through the major weight loss stage, it was winter time. I was able to wear my shirts/ sweaters over my pants to camouflage how big they were. My pants, I had to turn the waste down & tightened my belts really tight. That got me through the first few crucial months. -
Thanks for your support.

What to look for in a personal trainer?
Tiny One replied to Rockpaperthinner's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I've been paying $50 per month for bi-weekly sessions with my trainer for the last 7 months. He's pretty good & push me well pass my limit. Initially I didn't think it would do much justice, but it did. He gives me helpful tips to do on my own. -
My name is Tiny One, not VSG Addict. The member status is VST Addict, not VSG. however, I never set the member status as VST Addict. Not sure if that's updated based on the number of posts I've made.

anyone experienced bad breath after surgery?
Tiny One replied to lucy00us's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was warned about this pre-op. so I keep plenty on breath strips when I couldn't have mints or chew gum. No longer a problem. -
I pray that GOD gives you the strength to take complete control of your life. I wish you luck on what is meant to be a positive journey. Best wishes!!!!!
