I think the first early out stall is really just your body adjusting and not knowing what the h*** just happened to it from surgery - were you sick or injured and does it need to hold on to weight to help you. A protection mechanism of sorts. I agree it is frustrating, but relax. Perhaps your expectations need to be adjusted a little. You will experience plateaus and stalls. So much discussion on this board on this topic. The scale will no doubt start moving again. It doesn't have a choice. -

Yeah I'm not a fan of the Isopure or any of the other protein waters. Yuck. But, an option if u are having a tough time getting in enough protein. IF you can choke it down, LOL! -

I am also hoping for more energy. I do feel better, but still do not have the level of energy I would like. The last time I lost weight, I did it with the aid of phentermine, and I think I just have a skewed view of how energetic I was from the last time! I was on a stimulant FCOL!

Dry roasted edamame is the best! Salted and wasabi flavored both! 14 G protein in a quarter cup! Can't live without! I'm burning out on protein options, but still love dry roasted edamame! Seapoint Farms is the brand.

If it's true that our bodies can only absorb or make use of only so much protein in one meal, I think doing half a shake is reasonable and maybe easier to fit in with the rest of the food you are eating .... Or the protein water which counts towards ur fluid intake and is less calories than shakes ... -

I am almost 8 weeks out and on mostly food. - A few shakes a week - but my protein goal is 60. My NUT advised to switching to to the clear protein drinks when transitioning to solid food, if you need extra protein, but they make me gag. I eat 4x a day, (3) 3 oz of protein a meal plus (4) .25 cup veg or fruit, and (1) 2 oz protein snack. I am still struggling with some dense meats, as well as eggs (oddly enough), and also my appetite --- I am protein weary, even though it used to be my fave. -
My preop dietsolidified my commitment to the surgery! I finally felt at peace.

I went to my first Zumba class ever 3 weeks post-op. Probably a little too soon : ) but you can kinda go at your own pace/go lower impact if you need.

I am 5'3" and my goal is 140. However, I got down from 293 to 160 7 years ago and was really happy at that weight. If I can get back to that, or even 175, I'll be pretty darn happy. I started at 273 and I'm currently 240.

Sleeved 7/10 and now down 33# including 2 week preop diet! Scale was stuck at 27 for the longest but started moving again last week. : ) -
I was released to water aerobics after first week. I started Zumba in week 3 post op.

Good Water consumption helps to keep us from getting constipated also. Many of us don't get a lot of Fiber in our diet until maintenance and so we need to do what we can to keep things flowing. I think 64 oz is a good goal but I don't think that is an amount that is set in stone for everyone. It's a good average to set out there for most of the population to shoot for. But for us, it's even more important to stay hydrated because we really so not need to complicate our conditions with preventable problems. So, i'ma keep shooting for a min of 64. -

This is my biggest worry too! It is the one thing I really wish I knew pre-op, or i wish I didn't know until i was down 100#. I read a lot about the sleeve before making my decision. I mean I knew I would have to put in a lot of work and that surgery was just a tool and you could eat around the sleeve too but ... I really expected to only be able to eat little bits of any food! I did not understand sliders and all! It does make sense that processes foods would go down easier, but I never thought about it that way. And it's hard to stay on track when eating protein can be so freaking hard at first! Meat is grossing me out! -
I'm a numbers gal. WLS is statistically the best chance of losing and keeping it off. I knew I wasn't one of the very few that can so it by diet and exercise alone. If you feel like you got it in you to be one of those, then go for it!

I was told by my former PCP that my EKG looked like I already had a heart attack. I was so scared and anxious! Saw a great cardiologist and did a treadmill stress and echo and all was fine. Phew!! Good luck. I know it's scary, but chances are you will be fine. -

I was sleeved 7/10 and have lost 27# since 2 week preop diet prior. About 7# was lost preop. So, I started at 273 and I'm down to 247. I am through the liquid and mushy stages and diet now is to consist of (3) 3 oz sizes Protein, (1) 2 oz size protein, (2) 1/4 c soft veg, and (2) 1/4 c fruit. I'm taking nutrametrix multi, Calcet and Celebrate Calcium chews, (3) 1000 mcg B12 a week, protonix (PPI), Vitamin D 2000 IU. I am getting about 6 hrs of exercise in a week (Water aerobics and Zumba mostly). I have tried some foods that I shouldn't, like popcorn, which is a total slider. My one buyers remorse so far is not knowing more about sliders. I did alot of research ahead of time. Lots of reading. Although I knew that the sleeve was just a tool and that I would have alot of work to do, I really didn't realize that so many of the foods I overate preop would not necessarily respond to the restriction and slide through. That will be a continuous challenge for me, but ... I don't plan on additional weight loss surgeries, and so I really need to make this work. -

I'm 5 weeks post op and my family and I went to Water Country USA today. I was able to walk the whole day and also rode water slides 7 times, which means I climbed at least 35 flights of stairs! Am I anxious to lose more than 27#? Of course! But even 27# off added lots to my life. I would never have been able to do any of that 27# ago! Oh, and I walked all over Busch Gardens yesterday too! Oh, and to the person who stole my bathing suit cover up at water country ... Enjoy, and I hope it lasts you a long time! I surely won't be that size next summer and so I have no need for it!

Not only is every doctor different, but every patient is different. A friend of mine and I were sleeved same day by the same surgeon. She was released to drink shakes after discharge, while I had to do Clear Liquids for a week. We have a similar BMI. Only difference is I had problems with excess stomach acid post-op, and she did not.

I am stuck at 27 too. It's hard, but we need to be more patient. We will lose more weight, surely.
