What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
lubelu replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm on holiday at the moment so there is a lot of eating out. Ve been ordering fish or shellfish. If I'm out at lunch I will order a small grilled chicken salad. Last night we went to a Very fancy restaurant here on maui and I ordered 2 appetisers I had sashimi (ate 2peices) and a crab cake for my main (ate half) and it was fantastic. I alway order what I know will go down easily and mostly earthy choices but I am not counting calories but I do pay attention to my Protein intake. -

lubelu replied to beauty29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once I have kids (ill have to wait a year to start trying again) ill be going in for the tummy tuck, ill get my boobies done (they have shrunk) and ill get my arms done because I have a feeling ill end up with batwing arms. -
My easy chicken soup recipe: 2 chicken breasts 1 onion quartered 1 carrot roughly chopped 2 stalks of celery chopped Add the leafy tops of the celery Parsley Salt Pepper corns Garlic cloves Olive oil Sauté in a big pot to slightly brown the chicken Then add boiling Water to cover everything and then some. Bring to the boil Then simmer for a good hour Check the salt and pepper to taste Once cooked and cooled I remove the chicken (use for something else) and mash all the veg together then pass it through a very fine sieve to get rid of the big bits. It's delicious.

I just made my own chicken soup from scratch before I had surgery and froze it in 1/2 cup portions. Once I heated it throughout would add done Parmesan cheese and sometimes added an egg through the soup which was really good and it made sure I got my Protein in. I always had a bottle of Water on hand too. The Protein Powder might be made by natures way? It's cream and green packaging in a big tub. But I can't 100% remember the brand name. But it was unflavoured.

I had to go through the blog I've been writing to try and remember those early days. You can read it www.diaryofagastricsleever.blogspot.com

I bought Protein powder from woolworths unflavoured so I could add it to anything without flavoring something. I would add it to yoghurts and soups (can be a bit grainy) so I don't add it to my drinks. In hospital on day 2 I had jelly and clear Soup. And that's pretty much what I ate for a week after

For the last 20 years I've been on ever diet imaginable. Low fat no fat everything. Now I eat what my body needs and I'm down 45lbs in 2 months. I'm so much more conscious of what I eat but if I want to eat 3 of my husbands fries or have a few tortilla chips with guacamole I'm not going to stop because I want to live and eat and enjoy. The bonus ith the sleeve is that I know I can only have a few of something's and I know I'm never going to go overboard again. -
I was in Hollywood hospital for 4 days. I have 5 incision sites and one in the middle was a drain which was in or 2 days I had dissolvable stitches on my scars. I've lost a total of 22kgs so far. And everything is huge on me. I take my measurements every 2 weeks and photos in my undies to track my progress.

When they go in they staple and remove thr pouch part of your stomach. They totally take it out so you are only eft with your sleeve that is made out of the least stretchy part of your stomach. My surgeon dr Armstrong at advance surgical have videos on his website. Chek it out I've also you tubed videos to see what I was in or as well.

I had to do 2 week full Optifast diet. The first day was horrid but then I was fine. I think it was a great thing because during those two weeks i was able to get rid of my bread and sugar cravings. Even now I don't have any cravings for anything! Bread rice ad Pasta don't sit well but I'm only 7 weeks out so I'm not too worried. When I'm eating especially around others ill put my fork down between mouthfuls, offer drinks to others, talk and talk then I eat a bit again. I make sure I chew very slowly but I'm getting better. At the moment I'm on holidays in Hawaii with my husband parents and in laws. I'm finding my parents are constantly worried about how much I'm eating and trying to make sure I am eating as I'm still not feeling hungry yet. I'm trying to help them learn that that is all I can manage but coming from an Italian family who love food this is a challenge. But shopping and getting on these scales has been the best thing ever. During my holiday here in the USA I've been able to walk into any store and buy clothes. I even brought new bather bottoms in a normal size. Please feel free to ask any questions at all. I'm it far out of surgery but I hope I can help

I'm not going to sugar coat it. The first two days was pain!!! But then I was only on liquid Panadol and by day 4 no pain meds at all. You will have ups and downs but the ups outweigh the downs. Talk and share how you're feeling and rake things slowly. If you follow drs orders you shouldn't have a problem. I keep a bottle of Water with me all the time to ensure I get in enough water and I would add benefiber and Protein powder to everything like yoghurt, Soups and smoothies. Keep up your protein and your energy will be great! Once you get to start eating foods eat slowly and I Leah keep a timer next to me and wait 1-2 mins between bites. That way I can control how much i eat and how I feel after eating. I wish I had done this so much sooner.

I'm a Perth girl I was sleeved August 8 by Jon Armstrong. Best thing I've ever done and I'm already down 22kg. Congratulations on your decision.

Thank you I don't ever remember being this weight in for ever!!! I never though I would ever get here either.

I've never felt better. I no longer snore. I eat well (but still getting used to what sits well and what doesn't) I am so much more active and am enjoying exercising, I'm loving shopping for new clothes in 'normal' stores. And my DH keeps commenting on how skinny I've become. I wanted to share a photo with you .

What do you use for stretch marks?
lubelu replied to Chelsi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been using Nivea q10 skin firming lotion. I use it evey morning after a shower and once a week I've been doing a whole body scrub (I've been using a scrub from the body shop -smells delicious) and last night my husband even commented on how much they have faded. I have stretch marks on my Belly my thighs my arms my sides nd they verbally reduced in colour and intensity. Nivea is great too because I think I paid $7 au for a Great big bottle as compared to some other products. I was using palmers coco butter and it left me slimy (my DH commented on how my skin felt with that one too) Nivea got one great reviews online too. -
Thank you. I'm loving the new confident me

lubelu replied to Kgregory's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm far from goal weight but I was sleeved 7 weeks ago and my starting weight was 255. I'm now 212. I'm so pleased with my progress this far and I can't wait for more weight to come off. I walk every day and eat good quality ingredients. And always my Protein first. Getting my sleeve was the best decision of my life. -

Hi! I can eat most things but not a large quantity. I'm eating a lot of fish, sellfish Crackers with cheese and sliced deli meats Salads chicken Oats Fruit All vegetables (but staying away from potatoes and corn) I still can't eat bread, Pasta, rice, beef or pork. They really don't sit well and make me feel unwell.
