Hi, Guess Yall Are Tired Of Hearing From Me!!!! But Called My Insurance Carrier Today.. Said That They Have Recieved The 46 Pages Of Paperwork From The Lap Band Coordinator. They Tell Me I Have An Exclusion On My Insurance About Lap Band Surgery. Even If I Have Paperwork. Theytalked Like It Wouldn't Be Reviewed. I Haven't Recieved A Denial Letter. I Don't Know What To Do!!!! Very Upset About This.. Maybe Somebody Can Help Me As Far As This Goes And Tell Me What To Do .... Appreciate All Of Yalls Help. Hope And Pray Somebody Will Help Me. :hurt I hadn't thought that it would be so hard on me, this time around trying to lose weight. After being turned down by my insurance company. Did call Dr. Maese's office and let his office know about it. Said they would try and do the best they could for me, as far as an appeal. But I know it wont be happening for me. After all I've looked into as far as my insurance goes. After you appeal it, it still won't happen. I want to look at this objectively, but I cant!!! I started back at Curves. But I'm alot bigger this time around. First few days was extremly hard. I mostly blame myself for all the weight . Maybe things will get better for me in the long run. But how in the world can I deal with this letdown in my life? Just letting this off my chest helps. I guess things are meant to be. I just will do the best I can. Cant afford to do any more than what I'm doing. In th mean time I wish yall fellow band people joy, peace and happiness . God keep you. Love you Dell

done all what was asked for as far as BLUECROSS/BLUESHIELD ask for. my lap band coordinator is suppose to be sending the paperwork to them.... i am 277lbs now. cry most of the time. hope i can get this done. does anybody know DR. Sandi 1958, Than you very much for the reply to my post and the thought. T have BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD OF TEXAS (health select) though Mexia State School where I work. I really think I'm going to get turned down. Because I called them and was rudely told that they don't cover weight loss surgery even if you have done all that you are to do as far as asking for it medically. The best I can do is appeal it and hope to get it approved eventually. Sandi I have heard from alot of people through this forum and believe everyone seems to care about this whole process. Bubblestina, Got your reply to my post, glad I'm not the only person that has went to Dr.Maese. He is a very caring person. Mine is going through Dr. Richard S. Anderson of Dallas. Wasn't the sleep test fun!!!! I hated that... My insurance is Blue Cross/Blue shield of Texas (HEALTH SELECT) through the Mexia State School where I work. I hope you get approved. I wish that we could get some type of petition going against these Insurance people to make them pay for this type of surgery. But I don't think that will work. okiejudy, sometimes you have to do things to see how they play out. The more information you have , maybe you will be ok'ed for the surgery. Hello Everyone, I'm really happy for all of you that have recently been approved for lap band surgery. Called my lap band coordinator today in Dallas. She says it takes about 60 days to hear from your insurance. Is this correct??? Ladies I'm worried that it won't happen for me. Meantime, I'm getting bigger waiting for this to happen . GOD I NEED A BREAK IN MY LIFE. Sometimes I feel like everyone is getting what they want except me. I don't mean any disrespect. It is just really tough on me now. New Hope, Thanks for the reply.... I need to lose as much as I can to feel better than I do. Being overweight is tough. But I am not ashamed of it. Just would like to lose it for me and the person that the worries about me the most. Charlie, the man I live, with for 15 years. He is so worried about my health. paula, I am not sure. This is my first time trying to have something done... God.all I do is eat. I am 277lbs now. At one point in my life I was 165lbs and I felt great. But now all I can be is give out. Never been this big. Maybe something will happen for me as for as the insurance goes. Been to two or three diet doctors over the years since 1992 or 1993. My first posting..... I am trying to get lap band... I have blue cross/blue shield health select. But where I work, it has a exclusion on this matter. My doctor has had me do a sleep test. I have high chol. but not diabetes. Is there is a easier way to get this approved. I did see a lap band doctor. He has referred me to the doctor who would be doing it. But that is far as it has went, they did call me yesterday, wanted me to fax them more paper work..... IF ANYONE can tell me what else to do I would greatly appreciate it.....
