September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!

I didn't interpret it that way which is why I said something. However, if that was the intent a simple 'my comment was directed at the obnoxious commenter' or something similar would have been sufficient. Instead, something different was said which only leads me to believe my original interpretation wasn't off the mark.

Did you keep your surgery a secret?
Brighteyes replied to Disabledaccount's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have pretty much done the same thing. I wanted to 'keep out the noise' while I was making my decision and doing all the research. However, I have found that as I get closer to surgery I have started to tell select people. Their reaction has been nothing but supportive. It's been helpful for me. But go with your gut instinct on this. -
I was on a plane earlier this month and had to use a seatbelt extender for the first time. Thankful the flight attendant was super discreet and had it in her pocket already. I get sleeved in the next couple weeks. It just reaffirmed my decision. We are on the right path!

Nope. I was simply making a point.

Besides the one obnoxious comment, I don't see how anyone was being anything but supportive Molly3.

Way to go! You look great! Love the necklace too :-) -
Getting ready for surgery in the next few weeks. But I will commit to continuing working out three days a week with my personal trainer until surgery. And then I commit to working out consistently once my docs clears me. Slowly but surely I will get back to running!

Has discussing your weight been an issue in the past that maybe led to agreements? Just another possible perspective. It might be why he doesn't feel safe talking about it now, even if its positive. Way to go on the 50 pounds loss!

I had surgery last year, not WLS, and had an irregular period afterwards. I have never been on birth control. But started taking a pill ten days before my period was suppose to start. It helped regulate my period again. Worked with my GYN to figure out what worked best for me.

Didn't think I would find this kind of conversation when I clicked on this thread....lol.

I have been reading on here that a lot of people have gas pain immediately after surgery and take gas-x or something similar to relieve the symptoms. So here is the question I have. What kind of gas pain are you referring to? The pain from the surgeon putting gas in your belly to expand it or something else?

Help me understand
Brighteyes replied to Brighteyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, that is what I thought it was but I wanted to make sure. I had my gallbladder removed last year and had none of the gas discomfort. I am hoping for something similar with this surgery. -
I was told by my doctor that the carbonation in sodas stretches your stomach, thus reversing the effectiveness of the sleeve. Not something I am willing to risk.

Pre-op verse Post-op protein shakes
Brighteyes replied to Brighteyes's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I guess the part that confused me was they gave me a bunch of protein shake receipts with my diet plan. Uummm
