I use to ride professionally! I evented and got to train in dressage in Germany. Getting back on my competition horse is a big reason I am doing this. Such a great goal! -

Quick update...made it to the hospital for both my appointments. In the cafeteria now waiting for my last appointment for the day. Only wish....is that the Starbucks was still open. Might go for a walk to burn off this nervous energy before my last appointment. -
Eating too quickly: Help slowing down!

In between taking a bite of food, set your silverware down and chew your food. Only after you swallow, pick up your silverware and take another bite. Hope that helps. -

I just think my anxiety is getting the best of me. My emotions are all over the place today. -

Quick question. My doc has me doing a two week pre-op diet that partly requires protein shakes. For those in a similar situation were you allowed to mix fruits and yogurts in your pre-op protein shakes, or was that reserved for post-op? I am just a little confused.

4 days and a wake up!
Brighteyes replied to nikki_is_winning's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am not really fearful of failing at loosing the weight or gaining it back. I started doing very intensive therapy at the beginning of this year to address the reason I am overweight in the first place. I did the hard mental work first before I even knew I wanted to do WLS. My only real fear is the surgery itself and potentially unforeseen complications. I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest putting new clothing outfit ideas in my "personal best" board. It's keeping me busy and my mind off things. -

So today I have my final appointment with my NUT and the psychological eval. Next Tuesday I have my final PCP appointment and support group meeting requirement. At that point I will have met all my pre-surgical requirements and my paperwork will be submitted to my insurance company for approval. I keep having these moments of panic. The "oh crap what am in doing" which is just has bad as "oh crap look at what I did to myself." Going to see my therapist later this week. Just feeling overwhelmed.

The different time might have something to do with it. I am normally a few pounds heavier later in the day than first thing in the morning. But I would take 10 pounds in 3 days anytime! :-)

Did you weight yourself before and after on the same scale around the same time of day?

It went completely off course. But besides the need to shower with Lysol, it's been pretty funny.

Lol....this comment would have only been funnier if you were searching for 'sausage' but bacon is pretty funny too!
