3 weeks post-op: Pizza and Pasta?!

I met some friends at Olive Garden and did great! I chose the grilled Apricot Chicken with steamed broccoli and asparagus. I did get parmesan cheese on it. It's on their lighter side portion of their menu. I could only eat one chicken breast and some broccoli. I stopped when I knew I should. My friends were gorging themselves and I had no problem with it. I'm on a mission and on a new path. I was very aware of how much each of us were eating. What a change. I'd eat a whole basket of bread sticks dipped in Alfredo sauce, salad and a meal. Lol. Things have changed! I left proud of me and how strong I am. This sleeve has been gift!

HELP! Denied by BCBS IL Boeing ins.

Good advice! I wasn't approved for the sleep apnea test. When I called my insurance, she recommended telling the doctor to be explicit and add as much to their notes as possible. I told my surgeon. I got approved for my Sleeve within one week. I called 3 days to see where it was in approval stage. Lol

HELP! Denied by BCBS IL Boeing ins.

That should do it. I still would call your insurance company and ask what specific things would help them to approve you. Tell them you're suffering. Don't give up! I wouldn't go back to eating your way to 40 bmi as someone recommended. That's a lot of weight to put on. It sounds like you need fresh data for the insurance company. Hang in there.

    What can I do?

Do what you an Havel. Everyone is different. Start with 15 minutes and if you can go further with ease....then do it. This whole process is about getting in touch with our bodies. Listening to ourselves. It's new for us. We've stuffed our feelings with food for years, most of us anyway.

HELP! Denied by BCBS IL Boeing ins.

Your insurance should have an appeal process. Call the number on the back of your card. Call your surgeons office and ask them for advisement. I thought most insurances didn't approve unless you are a 40 bmi, but I'm not an expert.

    Water question

All I drank for theist part before surgery was water and tea. I have continued to do the same, but nooooo gulping. That is forever gone. I try to ensure I don't get to a point where I'm super thirsty. All is good though.
  8. I chew the heck out if the. 2 bites pure shrimp with 30 chews each bite. Yes I literally count. Lol
  9. I thought, just like you, wow sooo many variances. From what I've read so far is we need to be I tuned with on bodies. I've tried some stuff and it's made me gag. Others things I have to watch because they taste so good I have almost over ate, like grilled shrimp. I can eat 6, not 7. I chewed that sucker up, but it didn't go down for an hour. :-).

    Four days post op

I took three weeks off, but could have taken two. However, we are all different. I will still be on light duty for lifting and I will hover that. I haven't received any negative feedback due to not going back to work yet. If i do...I realize that others opinions only define their internal thoughts and not me. Losing weight will surely make feelings arise in people who struggle with their own weight. Just smile at them and go about your business and your great health path.

    Water question

Everyone is different. I am able to drink normal, but try not to gulp. The bigger the drink, the bigger the burps and sometimes tummy cramps early in the morning. I'm 3 weeks out. I was miserable when I came out of surgery. They would only let me have 2 oz of Water per hour. I asked my daughter to wet a wash cloth and I sucked the water out of it. Lol. Things got better fast though. :-). Thank God! I no longer sip! I drink like a normal person.

3 weeks post-op: Pizza and Pasta?!

It's so hard. I know. Take some time to go deep and figure out why you are making those decisions. It's hard facing our food addiction AND mourning the loss of our fav foods for quite a while. I try to find things that are yummy, but healthy. Shrimp being one of them. I can eat 6 medium grilled. I chew the hell out of the. I'm 3 weeks post Op too.
  14. I know, :-/ :-(. My App my my phone also told me....."you're not eating enough calories. Your will cause your body to go into starvation mode if you don't get in enough calories. I'm working to get in at least a 1000 calories. It's so hard. I am doing great with my water and protein....geeez. Never thought in my life I would be struggling to get my caloric intake in. Lol. I know I'll get there. :-).
