Why am i not losing weight?

This is actually very normal as LisaDM has stated. Your body also has gone through a shock and thinks it's being starved. There is another topic and covers this too. There's an article you can find about how your muscles are holding on to water. I had the same issue getting enough calories in. Protein is critical to keep your body from losing muscle and hair. My wellness doc would like me to get 100 grams a day of protein. I've only hit it a few times since my surgery. My nutritionist has recommended animal sources of protein for now first in my tiny tummy. Cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, canned chicken, fish, ground turkey are just a few things that I focus on getting in to hit the protein levels of 90 g's a day. I have stalled too, but I'm going by my clothes. I've dropped a size and I have a ton of energy. I still weigh myself daily and wish I wasn't obsessed with the stupid number. I used to ignore my weight, now I can't stop thinking about it. Lol. I just read an article by a very fit and healthy person who stated she never goes by the scale. She believes in the tape measure. The more muscle we have the more we can weigh over fat. Anyway....it WILL come off. There is no way it can't. Stay encouraged that you're taking care of you! :-). That's what is most important. You gotta feel better than how we used to eat. Best wishes! Lori
  2. I'm making some chili!!! A lil cheese in top sounds yummy!!!:-)
  3. I haven't tried coffee either. I take a laxative daily and that has helped.
  4. Before surgery size 22 and growing. Surgery in the 28th of September and dropped a whole pant size and then some. I put the 20's on today from my closet. The were slipping off me!!! The scale isn't moving much, but my body is shrinking!!! I'm doing the happy dance! ????????????????????????????
  5. Oh yeah!!! Coffee! Lol. That used to make me regular.
  6. A liquid is a liquid in my opinion. I would get as much as you can.

Handling the Holidays with a Baby Sleeve

For me my whole family are great at gorging and eating unhealthy. I decided the holidays for me will be more about the emotional aspect. What I mean is....focusing on the love I have for my family and just enjoying their company. I had my 44th birthday this Sunday and no cake or gourmet cupcakes my daughter usually gets me. My brother offered to take me out to dinner. They forget. Lol. What I decided to do was jut enjoy the family time. We laughed a lot as I ate my sugar fee pudding. Lol. We also were thinking about doing some service or volunteer work and giving back to our community on the holidays. My daughter work for Starbucks and they require it. So she has done a lot. It may be our new tradition and get the focus off food. I hope that inspires you! :-). Best wishes!
  9. Good for you! Also, if you're not pooing regularly take a daily laxative.
  10. Other countries where the sleeve has been performed for many years before the U.S. Only recommend whole foods. I don't know the specifics. I see doctors now profiting from the protein shakes, so of course they'll endorse the product. Whey protein can be found in bulk and much cheaper than the costly pre-flavored packages. I wish I would have know that before I bought the darn things. I spent a small fortune getting prepped for the liquid diet pre and post op.

    Feeling ill

Ensure you're getting all your nutrition and water in. Call your doctor if it persists before it becomes serious.

    Feeling discouraged

Our thoughts are very powerful. It's super important to take time to focus on what you're grateful for and remember how far you've come. As I am reading blogs from some of the most fit people...they don't weigh, they measure. I'm in a stall right now 3 1/2 weeks out of surgery. I was weighing myself everyday. Not good! Journaling is something I use to get my thoughts out of my head. When I spend time focused on how I am feeling and where I am heading now...it helps me. I do recommend talking to an objective person too. I've hunted through this site for encouragement too. I hope I was helpful to you. Life is a reflection of our internal thoughts. Think good things. You're in control! Best wishes!!!
  14. Just a tip...it made it seem so easy to get enough water down for me was to realize it's just for regular sized water bottles a day. The best practice I suggest is to train yourself to drink all through the day without gulping. Once you're sleeved, that's a no no. The chewing of the food....I count to 30. It has helped me transition into soft foods easily with no nausea. Great job on joining the exercise classes. This really is a lifestyle change for life. It's just a tool to help us be disciplined with eating, but it's still possible for us to eventually stretch our tummies out. If we change our behaviors...that's how we will be successful. Congrats on your approval! Best wishes!!!

    Help!

Yes. Put it in your Protein shake. I like the PB2 peanut butter, unsweetened cocoa, unflavored protein, milk, with some ice. It's super yummy! Regular peanut butter would work too! :-)
  16. I had the same thing and was so sick of it I just cried. It lasted about 2 weeks for me, which felt like forever. Pic was sick of being on pain meds that knocked me out. I saw my surgeon on a Thursday 2 weeks after surgery and was till having the radiating pain. He said it was completely normal. The next day it went away. I felt like the heavens had opened up. It was still a few days before I could sleep on my side. Hang in there....the pain will subside. It's all normal. I'm here for support! I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op. Best wishes...take care!!!
  17. If you focus on animal products. Lean meats, cheeses, milk, etc... Although you can expect to be constipated. I did a few days of this, but struggled to get the calories in. I was having a gag reflex to the protein shakes flavored was too sweet and unflavored had a smell that gagged me. Trust me I tried several options. I'm back to being able to have one Protein shake a day. I try to be creative with them. I hope that was helpful.
