  6. Possibly you may need to up your caloric burning in your work outs? Build more muscle mass to burn more fat? To see a specialist in hormonal health. PCP's are not experts in that field. It could be a shift in hormones. If you have built more muscle....it does weigh more than fat, so that could be the cause. In all I've read about health and fitness that I never implemented until now....those could be causes. Before I had my sleeve i went to see a metabolic and hormonal specialist. He taught me all kinds of things about my genetic make up and the kinds of food my body works best with. :-). Best wishes!!!
  7. Ok so I ate two pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. I should have only ate 1 1/2 Crazy how little I can eat. I used to pound down 6 tacos easy. Lol

    Stuck and Frustrated. ..

    A few things I've learned is how our bodies hold on to Water before a significant weight drop. The body is holding on for endear life when we don't eat enough calories. Drink lots and lots of water. This may be TMI, but I lost weight after I took a BM. I eat a lot of Protein and I am no longer regular. Every couple of days my body lets go. Hang in there and measure yourself. Even the most fit people use measurements and not weight due to muscle weighing more than fat. You may be gaining muscle too. :-).
  9. I ate out yesterday with my son and a friend. I was keenly aware of the mountains of food being served and remembered how I used to eat. I got shrimp lettuce wraps with some awesome fresh mango salsa. It took me the same time to eat my appetizer as it did my company to eat their mountain of food. I was full on 12 small shrimps with salsa. I didn't eat the lettuce. Later on last night my son asked me if I was full on what I ate. I think he is still in shock how little I eat now. Occasionally I miss feasting and then I remember how unhealthy I felt and what it led to. Then I move forward again. :-)

  12. I used to ask for extra butter at the movies! I also would pop a bag of buttered microwave popcorn and add a 1/3 of a stick of melted butter. No wonder I was chubby and cholesterol through the roof. Eventually I would have had a heart attack. I truly made a decision to think of carbs like crack to a drug addict. I crave them like mad. The one thing I've found that has helped me is protein chips and I found a cracker that is high protein. The crunch is so satisfying. Bariatric advantage had snacks that are good!

    Got My Date...but...

    I totally understand. It was very hard to do 4 weeks. The only thing that kept me sane was trying all different kinds of Protein drinks. I served them in fancy glasses. I cheated once with a slice of lunch meat. The pay off was 20lbs. Down before surgery.

  15. I'm under the 250 mark! Yeah for me.....it's been years! Next goal is under 225. I'm thinking 25 lb. increments is the best way to go. Although being under 200 will be a celebration! That's when I'll buy me some new clothes. It's crazy because I'm eating things I like, just not massive amounts like I used to and no simple carbs. Thank you God for this surgery. It is the best thing that's happened to me in a loooong time. :-)
  16. The best way I've found to do a Protein Shake is to use unflavored and either let the fruit you add sweeten it or use stevia. My fav is to make it with unsweetened cocoa and PB2 peanut butter(less calories and fat, but same protein). I sweeten it with either frozen ripe bananas I made or stevia. I can't stand the sweet either.

  18. Was 281 august 28th. Now 252 and dropped a size and almost another size. My legs and boobs are going first. :-/. Lol I am focusing on getting 80 to 90 grams of Protein in a day. I have hit 100 here and there. I eat a lot of animal products. I'm adding in more veggies now. I crave a salad, but was avoiding what Fiber does to my tummy. I have ore energy than ever and strangely enough I don't have to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes. I'm thinking because my stomach was huge (surgeon said) and the far loss. Dr. Macintyre is my surgeon and he rocks!!! I live in LV, NV. I did get mad because the hospital is trying to get another 1100k out of me after paying my co-pay. I couldn't believe what they charged for one night stay. 68k for surgery and one night if care. My insurance negotiated it down to 16K. Just wild! My goal is to be medication free by the end if this month. Workout 5 days a week and continue my healthy eating choices for life.:-)

  20. I just realized that with my preOp liquid diet and postOp I have lost 6lbs per week on average. For a minute I didn't think I was losing that much. Crazy how our mind wants to discourage us into thinking it's not fast enough. Lol. I told myself to take a chill pill and enjoy this journey of living a healthy lifestyle. :-).
  21. I use soy milk due to being lactose intolerant. My teenage son says it tastes the same. We need the Protein and calories, so it's best to use milk or soy milk. :-)
