    Two Things On My Mind.

I drink from a straw with no problems and I'm able to drink a lot of water. I feel normal, but eat less and focus on getting 100g's of protein a day so I don't lose my hair. I'm 2 1/2 months out and won't eat popcorn. I do my best to not eat carbs like popcorn or crackers as they were the main reason I was unable to control my eating.

    Help? Post Ops

Unflavored Unjury was a God send for me. The sweet protein drinks made me gag. I was able to make my own chocolate/ peanut butter smoothies myself with unsweetened cocoa, PB2 powdered peanut butter, and stevia to my sweetness liking. I still drink them today because they are that good. I did eat jello, but can't stomach it now. Everyone is right....don't buy a lot. You don't know what you will like after surgery anyway. You're safe with the Popsicles and jello. Jello was something to chew. Ice may not work. Some people reject it. Best wishes!!!

Day Two Post Op & So Much Pain

I hope you're feeling better today. The gas pains can be difficult and I agree....pain meds are absolutely necessary for as long as you need them. I needed them for 2 weeks. Less and less each day was necessary, but I was happy to have my liquid pain medicine. What helped me get through it all was to breath through it, reach out for support (like you have), and remember that the pain is temporary. I gave myself permission to cry, moan, and say what I wanted through the pain. It's ok to express it. I wish you a speedy recovering and look forward to hearing your success story!! Best wishes!!

How Much Salt Is Too Much Salt?

I use Aztec salt from Mexico and a little goes a long way. Lots of healthy minerals too. Himalayan salt is a great option too. Regular table salt should be obsolete in our diets as far as I'm concerned. Listen to your body and the signs it gives you. :-)
  9. Shrimp is great with so many different spices. I focus on protein intake. I found some great recipes I can make ahead and freeze. I'm making mini enchiladas in cupcake tins this weekend. :-). I did eggs with different veggies and meats in cup cake tins. I heat them up and off I go.
  10. Surgery 9/28 and down 49 lbs. I'm happy and feel better than I have in years. I wish my feet and boobs would stop shrinking and my waistline would be shrinking at the same rate at least. Lol. All in all though....I'm happy with my decision to have the sleeve done.

    Chocolate Cravings

I do sugar feel chocolate pudding and my fav smoothy made with unsweetened cocoa, unflavored Protein powder, PB2 Peanut Butter with stevia to sweeten to my liking. I make it with soy or 1% milk and some ice to make it like a dessert. :-) yummy!
  18. My Fitness Pal keeps telling me I'm not eating enough calories. I'm wondering if that is the reasoning for the slow weight loss. I was able to get my 1200 calories in and the next day I lost a lb. lol. Crazy that I struggle to get in what I could throw down in one meal. I'm happy that I cannot eat as much and I don't have a choice. I needed this surgery to help me. My surgeon told me my stomach was huge. No wonder I could eat a 1/2 of pizza. Lol
  19. I'm almost 50 down and my feet, legs, boobs are all shrinking. Lol. My tummy is holding in for dear life. You think it has a mind of its own. Lol. I have lost one size in my waist, but would love for the chub to melt away! Hang in there. I keep visualizing it disappearing. :-)

    Stuck and Frustrated. ..

Sometimes I get on the scale and it doesn't move for a few days. My first instinct is to get frustrated, then I realize....I HAVE changed everything about the way I eat.....then I tell myself....the weight WILL come off. Sometimes I don't go #2 for a couple of days. I blame it in that. Lol. I am doing my best to get in enough calories so my body doesn't think it is starving. Water is critical for our weight loss. If I'm not losing I drink til my eyeballs float. The weight is coming off slow and steady....that's the way it should be. Huge drops in weight is not what we should expect. Oh did I mention that the monthly visit from Aunt Flow can trigger water retention? Lol. Anyway....let's all commit to only weighing ourselves no more than 3 times a week. :-). Best wishes everyone! We are our goal weight!!!

    Nature's Bounty Optimal Solutions

I use soy milk because I have an intolerance to regular milk most times. I like the texture with ice. My fav protein drink is unflavored protein, unsweetened cocoa 1 Tblspn , PB2 peanut butter 2 Tblspn, 1 c. Soy milk, 4 ice cubes, and stevia to my liking. I had it for din din tonight over regular food. Love it!
  22. I haven't either. It's not fun. I used to be regular. I think all the animal protein is too much for our intestines. It needs some fiber. I know if I remember to eat the gummy fiber I do better.
  23. I'll keep her in my prayers! We are only a week within each other. You're definitely more active than me. :-). I changed my position at work and I'm far more physical than I had been. It feels great to move and have so much energy. I wish you all you desire for your health. I get tested this week and hope to go off all the meds. Sometimes I wonder if they keep you on for reasons that are not so great. We shall see. :-)
  24. You may want to journal or read some sort of devotion, even meditate/ pray before you go to bed. We can prepare our minds for a restful sleep. Do your best to not watch food commercials before going to bed. If you're daydreaming....well you're fully in control of what you choose to focus on. I'm 6 weeks out this week and yesterday was a hungry day for me. I was hungry every hour it seemed. I made the best choices I could and I got through it. Take control and remember....what you focus on expands. Best wishes!
  25. Win I sells unflavored protein whey powder. Once I'm finished with my unjury...that's it. I use unsweetened cocoa with PB2 and sweeten lightly with stevia. I'm eating regular foods. I only have a shake once a week now. Thank God!
