I just had my second fill and im ticked off and not sure i should be. they use the flora. when i was being sat up in the chair after the needle was inserted I felt a pop. the girl got a discussed look on her face and said it popped out...the assisstant looked surprised. i said "hey that feels wierd what happend? I got completly ignored after that and she put me half way back down to adjust i guess, she held onto the needle, I was then sat back up and she did the fill. I felt it. not pain but. exactly like when i was pregnat 22 years ago and the baby kicked. I commented that this was totaly differant then the first time. she did not reply. All the way home I thought to myself, does this happen alot. could i get punctured inside? I have only had one fill and it was really great, just no restriction for more than a week. This lady did not ask how the past three weeks had been and if I hadn't asked she wouldnt even of told me what she had put in. Im disscussed and will request she not do my fill again. has this happen to others? wondering????

FMLA IS ONLY GOOD FOR 60 WORKING DAYS IN 12 MONTHS TIME. If you have any exteded illness your employer can replace you without a problem. If they lay you off instead of terminating you you may be able to get unemployment but have to be able to look for work (on paper). Managing FMLA is part of my job. Good luck to you.

IVE BEEN ON THE PILL SINCE 1987. the pharmacy assured me crushing them wasnt a problem. I took them for the duration. Finally!! my period stopped after three&1/2 weeks. My Dr. thinks its the wt loss. and my age. he said the peri menap test would not give an accurate reading because its only good when you have not had a period for 6 months. something about cell counts. I see my obgyn the 17th. Im just real glad Im off it for the holidays. Im bloted enough form eating holiday crap at work for two days now. ive had one fill and have no restrictions anymore, surgery is just a memory. I get full once in a while but not too bad. ill get back on track when Im done entertaining for the holdays. My cheating is probably worse in my head cuz i have'nt gained any wt, but havnt lost any this week eaither. this is the first time in months that I ate cheese and crackers !! but no bread,rice sweets. just hordevores that keep floating in. ah yea and a piece of See's Candy. tradition ya know? lol. anyone else feeling the tugs of way too much fun food to look at? no one knows at work im banded they literally set things on my desk and walk away. its almost over now TG Thanks

Are any of you women having problems with your period. I have been on mine for two weeks now. Its very light but annoying just the same. My norm is not having one or only three days. I take Birth Control pills so I will have period every month. And have been for 20 years. I have a ob gyn apt. but not until Jan 15. I can't pin point if its menopause, or that I've lost 45 pounds since Aug, or crushing birth contol pills for five weeks or that my lovley insurance Co decided to change my previous genaric brand of B.C. pills to a new genaric brand the week of my surgery, when I called to complain they said it was EXACTLY the same thing. I will feel better about this if some of you are having the same trouble. Keep in mind I am 48 years old. I just know when I present these clues to my Dr. he's going to say, "Yea, it could be any one of those things". The only thing I have control over is not crushing the pills, and I did that a week ago. I await your reply.

I havn't been on line for a while. I had my surgery on a thursday and was back to work Friday, 8 days later. I have a desk job and not one person there knows I had it done. So it depends on what your daughter does. Some people go back right away. On my fifth day my thought was, no way will I be ready on Friday to go back but its amazing how everyday gets soooo much better. I get my first fill this week. one more new experence and finding another new way to eat. I have lost 35 lbs since August when I went for my first apt. So I think Im doing something right. Im un sure what the fill will bring, but theres no turning back now. I havent felt bad at all since two days after surgery. The worst part for me has been crushing meds. I put them in apple sause but its still tastes bad. Im off blood presure meds already. I had a 57 BMI and did Medi Fast two weeks pre op. Your in good hands with the clinic you chose. My Mom hung out with me for three days. It will be cool if the two of you can do it together. Take a good driver with you.....Bandit.1

I was just banded 10/25. Dr. Neal in Olympia. I felt very confident in everthing. I had never had surgery in my life and the pain was unexpected but it really does get better everyday. I was self pay 17000.00 I paid for security and still feel good about my decision. its a good clinic try one of their seminars.

WASABUBBLEBUTT, So did you have yours done in SanDiego? if so whats the name of the Dr. I thought you were done in Alberto Aceves/Mexicali Mexico. If I travel to anywhere I would be alone. wouldn't I have a hard time getting home w/ luggage and all? just wondering

Ive read 4 books on lap bands and you seem as knowledgable as anyone Ive read. oh yea, my Dr. has no plan for xrays on me and does the surgerys in the hospital short stay clinic. said I'll be in at 6:30 am and on the way home by noon. He thinks mine will be very standard. He does them every day of the week. his entire practice is bands. I have a 52 bmi. Do you think he is over confdent? and yes, the guarentee includes EVERYTHING and anything pertaining to to band for two years. labs, drugs, tests, Drs. nursing, hospital. but, I think I wiil explore more options. maybe not take the easy way less hassle (pay up the butt) route. I do want good care. that's a priority. The only time I've been in a hospital was to have kids and i didnt stick around very long then. I appreciate your knowledge

I would love to be able to go to Mexico but I in no way can be off work for more then one week. and only two times in any given month. Ive been researching the band for about a year. I just couldnt get it organized for a trip. There is only one clinic in my town and they wouldn't appreciate me skipping out on them and then asking for help if something goes wrong and for my fills. I dont have medical insurance so I'm paying a high price for security. My Dr. has done over 600 bands and after thinking about it I think his point was he doesn't remove them, just unfills if you are not happy with the band cuz it is not nessesiary to remove it. he said he does not see erosion problems anymore because of the material the new bands are made of. He made it sound nonexcistant anymore. Im now worried because ive been reading about lots of rebanding. I dont understand why some people are rebanded. I did find out i have a guarentee of two years for any problems that may arise and all fills for that time too. Is two years enough time to be covered? They put off my surgery for a month later then what i had planned because of our schedualing problems. do you think I should I re-negotiate the years covered? 17 grand seems awfully high but seems to be the norm in Washington state. I have not paid out a penny yet but have been to a neutritionalst. I have put off the blood tests, figure ill wait until its closer to my date the end of Oct. he didnt order xrays is that normal? oh yea, do they always mess with the belly button? mine has issues i forgot to have him look at it. thanks for your time.

THIS IS THE first time I read this thread. Im using some of my retirement money and going to self pay 17 grand and I will absolultly die if I had to find another surgen and pay any more money out. I dont get the band until mid Oct. I will now ask about the warrenty on the procedure. Do you have to pay extra for all this? What does your insurance Co. think if you went that route? I have been reading so much on all the suggcess stories. I nerver thought of the major problems that may come up. Are the problems here rare? This didnt come up in any seminar. If fact the Dr said He NEVER removed the bands. Wondering

THNAKS. yea, they make it sound like they will always get stuck before they disolve. I take one that has a coating for stomach buffer. i hope by crushing it or splitting it doesnt cause the pain. the pharmacy wasnt much help on this either. do you ever put crushed pills in grape juice or apple sauce to buffer the bad taste?

I WONT BE BANDED UNTIL OCT. can you tell me about meds. do i have to crush all of them forever? What is the best thing to mix them with? i usually take them with FOOD so i dont get stomac pain and some before bed. Im unsure how this is going to go. i got liquid and chewable vitimins will i need them forever too? thanks WONDERING
